File Description:
This is a repaint for the payware A2A Simulations AT-6 Texan. This repaint depicts the restored SNJ-5 BuNo. 85061, registered as G-CHIA, based at White Waltham airfield in the UK. This aircraft originally served in the US Navy from 1945 until 1954, at which time it was one of 12 SNJ's loaned to the then newly formed Japanese Maritime Self Defense Force. In 1977, the aircraft was returned to the US Navy and it was subsequently sold into the civilian market, becoming N9012Y in early 1979. By 1984 the aircraft was restored, painted in the markings of an early 1950's Oakland NAS based SNJ. After changing hands/locations a couple of times while still in the US, first to Corvallis, OR in 1997, and then later to Skagit Regional Airport north of Seattle in 2001, the aircraft was sold to the UK-based The Warplane Flying Co., first flying from Duxford, England in November 2012.

This is a repaint of Alphasim's excellent T-6/SNJ. These textures represent a SNJ-5 that was assigned to the BTU-3 at Saufley Field, Florida in 1954-54. This aircraft has been restored and is current in operation by the Southern California Wing of the Commemorative Air Force. THESE ARE TEXTURES ONLY! The aircraft represented in this package is C.5-87 (fuselage number 4-087 with green nose band) of Ala Nº4 stationed at Palma de Mallorca. These textures are intended for use with Kirk Olsson's "gMax Sabrejet" package. Only the textures unique to the aircraft are included so you will need to have the aircraft package installed first.
