File Description:
PLUNA of Uruguay was owned by VARIG, and aircraft were often swapped back and forth or operated in full VARIG colors as needed. By 1998, the 707 had recently left the fleet in favor of a DC-10-30 leased from VARIG and used for multi-stop flights to Madrid. There were 3 variations of the 737; standard, VARIG hybrid, and a special livery. Raphael Rodrigues has painted all 3 and I will be uploading them to Avsim this week. Note that some of the aircraft are scheduled for long ground times in Brazil, likely as maintenance was done there. Textures by Raphael Rodrigues included for the FAIB 737-200. Also note that sources say the DC-10-30 left the fleet in 1998, which would suggest a VARIG DC-10-30 covered these flights. Lasham is an airfield which was built by the Royal Air Force to train its pilots there during WWII. After the RAF left the field Dan Air London choose Lasham as their place for the maintenance and so Lasham saw many interesting aircraft (Comet, BAC 1-11, ...). With the demise of Dan Air the maintenance facilities were sold to ATC which now does maintenance for the following types:
Boeing 727-100/200
Boeing 737-200/300/400/500/600/700/800
Boeing 757-200
McDonnell Douglas DC 8-55/60

CV-240-0, reg.-id. N51331, cn 76, in colors of 1973, delivered on June 30, 1948 to American Airlines, reg.id N94238, named "Flagship Little Rock", later "Flagship Erie". Served for several operators until bought by Cordova Airlines on June 15, 1965. Cordova Airways was merged with Alaska Airlines on February 1, 1968. Bought by Pacific Nevada Airl. on January 30, 1973. Returned to Alaska Airlines in May 1973. Bought by Byco Air Services on November 30, 1973. Bought by Pacific Airl. on April 9, 1975. Repossessed by Crocker National Bank on January 1976, withdrawn from use and stored at Long Beach, California, finally broken up.
