This is a repaint of the Douglas DC-6A (CB17 model) in Overseas National Airways - ONA 1959 colors. The freeware CalClassic DC-6A CB-17 model by Greg Pepper and Tom Gibson is needed for this repaint. ONA was originally formed in 1950 by George Tompkins to undertake overseas contracts on behalf of the USAF. Douglas DC-4s were initially used, with DC-6s joining them later. However, due to underbidding on contracts, ONA declared itself bankrupt on October 29 1963. After this, the airline was extensively re-organized and began operations once again in October 1965, with a fleet of 7 DC-7s. Soon after, in June and July 1966 the airline's first jetliners joined the fleet in the form of DC-8-50Fs. After a 1966 ruling by the CAB, ONA was granted permission to undertake inclusive tour charters, affinity group charters, and single entity charters to transatlantic and Caribbean markets. This was a godsend to the airline and it started to become quite profitable. Over the next decade, the fleet expanded to include: L-188s, DC-8-61/63CFs, DC-8-20/30s, DC-9-30s, and the granddaddy of them all; the DC-10-30CF. During the winter of 1975/76 tragedy struck. Two ONA DC-10s were lost in accidents in the space of two months (November 1975 & January 1976). This was a major blow to the airline and its image. This, coupled with financial difficulties, led the the filing of its second bankruptcy on September 7, 1978. That was the final nail in the coffin. This repaint is on DC-6A N660NA, which joined the airline in 1958, ans was sold to AAXICO in 1961. Textures are 32bit bmp. This repaint was tested on FSX-SE and should work on FSX, P3D v1-3, & FS2004.

N6014C, c/n 2650, delivered on November 3, 1950 to Trans World Airlines and named "Star of Delaware", ship no. "814". In March 1967 withdrawn from use and stored at Kansas City. Purchased by Central American Airways on October 5, 1967 and reregistered N273R on October 23, 1967. Sold to World Wide Leasing Corporation on March 23, 1973. From July 1973 until October 22, 1974 leased to World Citizens International Travel Club "Miss America". On November 16, 1974 sold to CIM Associates Inc. and leased to Lanzar (Jersey) Ltd. in February 1976. Destroyed by fire in Lome, Togo, on October 22, 1977.

Registration N6020C, c/n 2658 shown here in TWA's double globe jetage livery. Delivered to TWA on January 25, 1951. Named "Star of Kentucky" ship no. "820" flew TWA's very last Constellation flight on April 6, 1967. Withdrawn from use and stored at Kansas City in April 1967. Bought by Aero-Tech on August 14, 1968 and again withdraw from use and then
stored at Tucson, Arizona, where in 1969 finally broken up. Textures only. The FS2004/FSX Lockheed L-749 Constellation Base Kit (lockheed749.zip) must be installed.

NC86520, c/n 2503, leased to Pan American World Airways on June 6, 1947 and named "Clipper America". Inaugurated Pan American L-749 services in 1947. Returned to Lockheed in 1947 and delivered to Guest Aerovias SA Mexico on January 6, 1948 with registration XA-GOQ. In November 1948 returned to Lockheed and reregistered NC86520. On January 15, 1949 sold to Air France and registered F-BAZR. In October 1960 withdrawn from use and stored at Paris-Orly (France). Bought by CGTM (Compagnie Generale des Turbo-Machines) for use as flying
engine test bed from April 1963 to February 1966 registered F-ZVMV. From February 1966 to December 1974 operated by CEV (Centre d'Essais en Vol). On July 16, 1975 donated to the French Musee de L'Air. Preserved at Paris-Le Bourget (France). Engine test bed equipment removed May/June 2002, still in storage in Air France colors. Textures only. The FS2004/FSX Lockheed L-749 Constellation Base Kit (lockheed749.zip) must be installed.

Reg. Id G-ANUP, C/n 2562, delivered as L-749 to Quantas October 4, 1947, registered VH-EAA and named "Ross Smith". On January 27 1952 withdrawn from service until March 28, 1952 for conversion to L-749A-79. Bought by British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC) and delivered on February 19, 1955, registered G-ANUP, named "Branksome". Last service with BOAC on September 14, 1957 and stored at London Heathrow Airport (UK). Leased to Skyways of London from September 1959. In July 1961 installation of large rear cargo door. Returned to BOAC in April 1962. Destroyed on landing at Addis Abeba, Ethiopia, on October 2, 1964.

File Description:
C/n 2654 delivered to Trans World Airlines on December 12, 1950 and registered N6016C, named "Star of California" with ship no. "816". In March 1963 bought by the Federal Aviation Agency and registered N121 and named "Pacific Queen". While undergoing maintenance in Manilla, Philippines, in the late 1968 N121 fell off the jacks. Because of the damaged underside and a hole punched through the wing not repaired. Withdrawn from the register on April 22, 1969 and broken up from there for parts. Textures only. TWA Lockheed L-749 N6003C, c/n 2635, short nose version in colors of about 1954. Delivered to "Transcontinental & Western Air" on 24 April 1950 carrying the name "Star of Texas" and fleet number "803". When in 1950 the airline changed its name to Trans World Airlines "803" renamed "Star of America". In December 1966 withdrawn from use and stored at Kansas City. On 17 August 1968 bought by Aero-Tech and transferred to Tucson,
Arizona, stored and finally broken up in October 1973.

C/n 2612 was built as one of two PO-1WL (WV-1), essentially prototypes of the later Super
Constellation based WV-2s. Delivered to the U.S. NAVY on April 5, 1950 with Bu.No. 124437. Withdrawn from use and stored at Litchfield Park, AZ (USA) in October 1957. In February 1958 bought by Civil Aeronautics Administration (CAA) (renamed 1958 Federal Aeronautics Administration (FAA) and 1959 Federal Aviation Agency) and registered N7623C. Surveillance equipment removed and converted for use as a "calibration" aircraft. On June 4, 1958 c/n 2612 reregistered N119. In 1966 transferred to U.S. Air Force and reregistered N1192. In the same year withdrawn from use and stored at Davis Monthan Air Force Base, AZ (USA). Finally broken up in 1969. Textures only. New model file included. C/n 2675 was delivered to Air France on August 9, 1951 as L-749A F-BBDT. Bought by Royal Air Maroc on January 28, 1960 and registered CN-CCN. Converted to Freighter and fitted with a front cargo door in November 1961. In June 1970 withdrawn from use and transferred to Royal Air Maroc Centre de Formation Professionnelle at Anfa Airport, Casablanca (Morocco) as a training airframe for ground training. Since 1990 no longer in use but restored and repainted in period Royal Air Maroc colors of 2004/05 and parked outside.
