| Madonna della Corona Verona Italy N45.39.64 E10.53.34 |
|
File Description:
Madonna della Corona Verona Italy N45.39.64 E10.53.34 A sanctuary set in the Rock of Monte Baldo at about 1350 Ft in the Adige valley. The Corona Sanctuary is a place of silence and meditation, suspended between heaven and earth, hidden in the heart of the Baldo rocks. Medieval documents attest that already around the year 1000 in the Baldo area lived hermits linked to the Abbey of San Zeno in Verona and that at least from the second half of 1200 there existed a monastery and a chapel dedicated to S. Maria di Montebaldo accessible through a narrow and dangerous path in the rock. During the sixteenth century the two access stairs still visible were made: the widest, of 556 steps, which from the source of Spiazzi, then called "Fonte dell'Indipendenza", descended to the bridge of the lime tree, and the narrower one, of 234 steps, carved into the rock along the original narrow path that led from the bridge to the church. In 1974 the architect Guido Tisato was entrusted with the task of drawing up a project for a global intervention that envisaged the demolition of the existing Church, the preservation of the most valid and significant parts and the construction of a broader structure. Demolition and reconstruction of the Sanctuary were carried out between 1975 and 1978 and on June 4, 1978 the Bishop Giuseppe Carraro was able to proceed with the dedication of the new Sanctuary and the new altar. In 1982 the sanctuary was given the title "minor basilica". On April 17, 1988, Pope John Paul II visited and prayed to Our Lady of the Crown. Important VFR point for approaching airport Verona Villafranca e Verona Bosco Mantico. Within the downloaded package you will find readme files for scenery installatio, photos of site an flight plan. Good fly VFR. Pasquale Marrulli.

| P-51D G-SIJJ "Jumpin'Jacques" |
|
File Description:
"Jumpin Jacques" is a P-51D-20-NA model, built at North American’s Inglewood facility in California. Accepted by the USAAF on December 21 1944 as 44-72035, she was assigned to the 332nd fighter group in the Mediterranean Theatre of operations. The 332nd became very famous as the first all Afro American manned Group known as "The Tuskegee Airmen" although references to them at the time refer to them as "The Red Tails". She entered combat with the 15th Air force around March 1945 serving out the last few months of the war on escort and ground attack sweeps over Germany, Austria and Czechoslovakia. She still carries the battle scars to this day, with bullet repairs in several places on the fuselage. After the war, she was repatriated to the US and served with several ANG units. She was released from active duty in 1953 and in 1956 sold to Whitman Enterprises, CA, who registered her as N5411V.
She remained in the Us until 1981, when she was sold to Colombia. In 1989, she was bought by Jacques Bourret of Aero Retro, based in St.Rambert, France, with the registration F-AZMU. When looking for a colour scheme for the P-5, Jacques came upon the photo of a Mustang named "Jumpin’ Jacques" and could not resist adopting this as the new scheme. The original "Jumpin’ Jacques" was flown by Lt Jacques E Young of the 3rd Fighter Squadron, 3rd Air Commando Group, a unit that operated out of the Philippines.
At present, she is with the Hangar11 group of North Weald, UK, flying with the registration G-SIJJ. She has been repainted completely in early 2007, and it is this paintscheme that is depicted with this repaint.

File Description:
AFCADs, flightplans and aircraft for the newly released ScotFlight commercial scenery by VisualFlight
The newly released ScotFlight scenery by Visual Flight (www.visualflight.co.uk) is a beautiful rendition of the Scottish landscape and landmarks. It contains many new airports which were not included in the default FS2002 and I have had the pleasure of beta testing it for the last 4 months or so.
My freeware add-on package is in 4 parts:
1) AFCAD files for all of the airfields and airports included in the ScotFlight scenery. This will allow the smaller airfields to appear on the FS2K2 GPS unit and all will be listed in the World/GOTO menu.
2) EditVoice files for the new airfields so you will hear the correct names on the radio. (optional)
3) General Aviation flightplans for all of the airports, which can be added using TTools v1.3.3 by Lee Swordy.
4) Scheduled airline flightplans for flights to/from Scottish airports and small islands. Including 99.9% COMPLETE UK flightplans for Eastern Airways and 15 (yes fifteen!) individual BAe Jetstream J41 models, courtesy of Tom Woods, to use as AI traffic on the Eastern Airways routes. Plus directions where to get other suitable aircraft for, ScotAirways, BA Loganair, EasyJet and Highland Airways. Many thanks to Tom for his hard work repainting all the registrations for the Eastern fleet!
PLEASE READ THE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY! Anyone with the AFCAD and TTools programs by Lee Swordy should have no problem installing these files but, it needs care and attention to get them right.
Special thanks to:
Lee Swordy (AFCAD and TTools)
Tom Woods (The Eastern Airways fleet)
Daniel Parrot (For a great Eastern ERJ135 and ScotAirways ATR42)
Mike Holland (GA Maker)
Lars Møllebjerg (EditVoice)
Iain Gallacher,Iain Murray and John Farrie of VisualFlight for their great scenery and approval of my add-on package.

File Description:
Downsview Airport or Toronto/Downsview Airport, (IATA: YZD, ICAO: CYZD), is located in Toronto, Ontario and has been exclusively used and owned as a testing facility by Bombardier Aerospace since 1994. Downsview Airport has its own fire service (Bombardier Emergency Services) which covers airport operations (using two airport fire rescue vehicles) and plant operations (using two SUV emergency vehicles). Bombardier Emergency Services employs robust employees who are trained as fire fighters, paramedics, and as peace officers (despite being a private airport, its security force is sworn in as Peace Officers per Canadian Airport Standards as well as being sworn fire fighters under the authority of the Ontario Fire Marshall).
The Downsview Airport was developed in 1939 as an airfield next to an aircraft manufacturing plant operated by de Havilland Canada. In 1947, the Department of National Defence purchased property surrounding the airfield and expanded it, creating RCAF Station Downsview to provide an air base for Royal Canadian Air Force units. The base was renamed Canadian Forces Base Toronto (Downsview) in 1968 and retained this name until its closure in 1994.
Since 1998, the property has been administered by a civilian Crown corporation Parc Downsview Park, which co-manages the airfield with Bombardier Aerospace (the successor to de Havilland Canada). In recent years the property has been undergoing various landscape usage plans and some redevelopment has taken place.
The airfield was used in recent years to host the 1984 and 2002 Papal visits by Pope John Paul II, as well as to host the 2003 SARS concert headlined by the Rolling Stones.
The airfield has also served as a test site for several famous aircraft produced by de Havilland, including the Beaver, the Twin Otter, and the Dash 8. The airport is available to pilots only with prior permission.

| Zambia Airways DHC-2 Beaver c1966 |
|

File Description:
This is a repaint of a DHC-2 Beaver in Zambia Airways colors. The freeware DHC-2 Beaver (wheels) by John L. Woodward is needed for this repaint. It is an FS2004 plane, but I flew it in FSX-SE using the default Beaver panel. The plane can be downloaded here on Avsim, file name: beaver_wheels_2005.zip. Zambia Airways was formed as a subsidiary of Central African Airways (CAA) in April 1964. When CAA collapsed in 1967, Zambia Airways became a fully Zambian owned carrier. In 1968, the fleet consisted of DHC2 Beavers, DC-3s, and two newly delivered BAC-111s from the defunct CAA. They flew on regional routes to Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania, and Mauritius. Alitalia was also hired to provide support of the initiation of new international services. A Douglas DC-8-43 leased from Alitalia was used for the long-haul Lusaka to London flights, which were inaugurated in November 1968, via Nairobi and Rome. In 1970 Zambia Airways took delivery of 3 HS-748s, and in 1974 they received their first Boeing liner; the 707-343C. One year later the two BAC-111s were sold to Dan-Air. July 1976 saw the delivery of the carrier's first 737-200. Zambia Airways received their first wide-body DC-10-30 in July 1984. Zambia Airways did well financially over the years, but by the end of the 1980s and early 1990s, things were a bit more complicated. With financial difficulties facing Zambia Airways, it was forced into liquidation in December 1994. Zambia Airways operated a total of 4 DHC-2 Beavers on local services. This aircraft, 9J-RFZ, was with the airline from 1964 to 1967. This repaint should work on FSX & FS2004. Textures are 32bit BMP.

| P-47D 324th FG/ 316th FS #86 "Black Sheep" |
|
File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the Shockwave World War II Fighters P-47D Thunderbolt, representing the aircraft flown by Lt Jerry Wurmser of the 316thnd FS/324th FG, in France and Germany, between 6 march 1945 and the end of the war. He is still alive, and told me: "The name "Black Sheep" was already painted on the plane when it was assigned to me. It previously had been assigned to someone in Britain, and eventually ended up in France after either being shot down or having crashed and then repaired. It had a brand new engine in it when I received it on March 6, 1945. At this time I had already completed 39 missions, and finally was assigned my own airplane. My first flight in it was to break in the new engine, or "slow time" it. This required flying it about for a period of time at very low throttle settings, to break in the new engine. The plane had already seen a lot of action, and the "form 1" contained a long list of malfunctions that was written up by the previous flyers and dates of repairs. Several times I had to sign the "exceptional release" form before going up, acknowledging that I knew and understood what the previous pilot stated what was wrong with it. This plane was a razorback, with the tail assembly out of line, so that I had to apply rudder correction constantly. It got such bad gas mileage that I carried one less bomb and a gas tank instead. I hated that plane. I finally did get a new bubble canopy plane, but by this time the War was over!"
Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on two repaint kits, one by John Terrell and one by Shockwave. Included is a 1024 x 1024 bmp repaint, which should work in both FS9 and FSX.
