PART 2 - THE PEACETIME YEARS
The post war Aironi retained their AR126 engines all the way to retirement in 1959, but they were modified to have feathering Savoia hydraulic constant speed airscrews which required new controls in the old cockpit. High power then became available for TOGA for the first time allowing take off from smaller harbours during air ambulance sorties, and perhaps overload survivor rescue. The omnipresent problem of engine overspeed disappeared, but the early series Bristol Pegasus engines remained too primitive to have cowl flaps to control engine cooling. The gondola lost its windows and ventral hatch to reduce drag. New navigation equipment and procedures were introduced.

PART 1 - The Wartime Years (z506b_v01.zip) MUST BE INSTALLED BEFORE INSTALLING PART 2.

Hawes Aerial Operations Facility is a reimagined version of an abandoned World War II auxiliary airstrip formerly known as Hawes AAF Aux #1. It was built in the mojave desert, just east of Edwards AFB (then Muroc AAF) during WWII as one of 4 satellite fields for Victorville AAF. After the war, Hawes as used as a private civilian airfield until it's closure in the early 1960's. It is now reborn in FSX as a UAV base by Nevada Systems. Due to it's location in the Mojave desert and the presence of many thermals in FSX, it was also used in production of the Aeroworks ARX-1 civilian glider concept. This scenery uses many custom macros as well as default macros from the Acceleration Expansion Pack, which is required for best performance. Scenery and custom macros by Joshua B. Nyhus and Jason L. Re-upload. This is my "home" airport and I have completely reworked it using AFX and Instant Scenery from Flight 1.
Microsoft only placed one building here, which is the main hangar/maintenance building/FBO office. I used
AFX to redo the aprons, move the boundary fence, move the fuel parking space, add GA parking spaces, and
add the runway markings as they are in real life.
