File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the A2A Spitfire in the colors of Spitfire Mk Vb EP829 T-N, the aircraft of Squadron Leader Joseph Lynch, the CO of No 249 squadron, based in Malta 1943. Sqn Ldr Lynch was an 'Eagle' squadron veteran, originally from California, and he became an ace flying this aircraft, shooting down 4 JU52's, a JU88 and a Caproni CA313. One of the JU52's was the 1000th axis aicraft destroyed by Malta's defences. Lynch later joined the USAAF, with a final score of 10 aircraft destroyed and 7 shared. EP829 survived the war and later ironically joined the Italian Air Force as MM4069. It flew with 51 Stormo, which 3 years earlier was involved in the attack on Malta.Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by A2A.

North American P-51D 355th FG (YF-S) "Our Blue Heaven" Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This folder contains a second repaint for the A2A WoP3 P-51D Mustang, in the colors of P-51D 44-14498 YF-S "Our Blue Heaven / Jennie & Me & Davy makes three (left side), Desirable Dottie / Virginia Darling (right side) ", the aircraft flown by Lt. Edward B Martin of the 358th FS/ 355th FG, based in Steeple Morden, UK. "Our Blue Heaven" was named after the favourite song of his wife Jeannie and himself. Davy making up the "three" is their son who was born whilst Lt. Martin was still with the 355th FG. I am not sure about the origin of the names on the right side, they made be from the ground crew. 44-14498 was previously "Big Stoop II" of Capt. James N McElroy and reassigned to Lt. Martin. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the A2A paintkit.

File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the A2A WoP2 B-17G in the colors of B-17G-10-VE #42-39996 which arrived at Bassingbourn to join the 91st BG on 14 january 1944. She was assigned to the 332nd BS and after completing a few flights, she received the name 'Boston Bombshell' after the original aircraft carrying that name was brought down near Munster. Tony Stracer painted the nose art, based on Esquire's August centrefold by Varga. On 16 August 1944, on its 47th mission, "Boston Bombshell" was attacked by a group of 25 fighters before reaching the target, Halle. All four engines caught fire and she went down in a blazing inferno. Only two crew members survived, pilot Lt. John Dunlap, and navigator Lt Hubert Carpenter. "Holy Terror III" Boeing B-17G Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Repaint for the A2A B-17G in the colors of B-17G-10-VE 42-40056 "Holy Terror III" of the 100th BG, 351st BS. On March 8, 1944, "Holy Terror III" was shot down about 15 miles East of Berlin after mechanical difficulties made it impossible to maintain formation. All 10 crewmembers became POWs till the end of the war. An eyewitness account of the actual day the aircraft was lost states that pilot (2nd) Lt. (Norman L.) Chapman feathered #1 engine, then unfeathered it near Dummer Lake at 1240 hours. He continued with the formation, although straggling, to the I.P. where he was attacked by three (3) E/A. Escorting Fighters went down and picked him up. The aircraft appeared to be under control when last seen.

Repaint by Will "dafraz48" Turner, based on the A2A paintkit, October 2014.
