Canadian Airlines Boeing 747-8i Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This is a repaint for the amazing SkySpirit 747-8i Series II. It includes the base model, high-quality textures, a VC, and custom ground service vehicles. Canadian Airlines never flew the 747-8i, as by the time the company was absorbed by Air Canada in 1999 the aircraft did not exist. The largest aircraft flown by Canadian Airlines was the Boeing 747-427. However, in our new universe, Canadian Airlines has taken delivery of one single Boeing 747-8i, available to fly any route of your choice. It flies under the registration C-FCDN and the tail number 848. The Rhys T. Eyton Memorial 747-8i Canadian Airlines named all of their 747's, and this one is no different. Like the real-life 747-427 flown under registration C-FGHZ, this aircraft honors the late Rhys T. Eyton, Canadian Airlines CEO between 1989 and 1995. Rhys was a pioneer in Canadian Aviation. He passed away in 2023. Livery Info Upon its founding in 1987, Canadian Airlines revealed its new livery using the colours light grey, dark grey, navy blue, and red. The paint scheme was an adaptation of the recently introduced livery from its predecessor Canadian Pacific Airlines. The lower half of the aircraft's body was navy blue, topped with light grey and red stripes, while the tail was blue, with approximately one-third taken up by the carrier's new logo. The new Canadian Airlines logo was a combination of Canadian Pacific's five grey stripes, representing the five continents served by the carrier. Over these stripes was a thick, bright red chevron. The chevron was a simplification of the Pacific Western Airlines logo. The chevron was placed over the stripes, which then represented "Wings over 5 continents". It was also an ingenious and subtle way to represent the takeover of CP by PWA. The same logo, in a square form, became a clever alternative to a true bilingual name on the fuselage replacing the French "e", and the third "a" in English (Canadian/Canadien).

Boeing B-17G 91st BG (LL-E) "Shoo shoo shoo baby" restored Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the A2A WoP2 B-17G in the colors of B-17G-35-BO 42-32076, the former "Shoo shoo shoo baby". In 1968, the ancestry of F-BGSH, an old B-17 languishing in derelict state on Creil Airfield in France, was discovered by the Australian aviation historian Steve Birdsall, who notified the USAF museum that this was a combat veteran that had flown operational missions, in contrast to most other surviving B-17's. Following negotiations, the B-17 was donated to the US by the French Government. Interestingly, its Swedish heritage attracted interest from Sweden as well, but nothing came of this. The aircraft was disassembled at Creil and trucked to Frankfurt and flown to the US in 1972, where it arrived, packed in 27 crates. No plans or funds for restoration were present at the time, but in 1977, Mike Leiston, a technician at Dover AFB contacted the museum about the possibility of restoring one of the museum's aircraft by volunteers at Dover AFB. With project approved, 42-32076 was transported to Dover, with the aim of restoring it to a stock wartime B-17G. Upon arrival, Paul McDuffee, who had flown her for 13 missions, was present, and the reunion was clearly an emotional one as he commented "I've just got to go over and kiss her", which he did. The restoration continued to 1988,and after some 60.000 ma hours, "Shoo shoo shoo baby"took to the skies again for the first time on 11 september. On 14 october 1988, she flew for the last time, to the USAF museum near Dayton, Ohio, where she can still be seen. The main difference with her wartime looks is the fact that she currently sports an olive drab camouflage paint, which was necessary due to all the metal work needed to bring her back to a stock B-17G condition. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by A2A.

Chance-Vought F-8 Crusader (Part 2) Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Chance-Vought F-8 Crusader (Part 2). I present a comprehensive AI traffic model package for this classic aircraft of modern military history.

This is an original 8-LOD model, with many animations and features thanks to a growing confidence in XML-coding and making FSDS work for me instead of the other way around.
Nicknamed "The Last Gunfighter", this aircraft was the last production aircraft for the US Navy and Marine Corps which used guns as primary armament, and was in service at the twilight of this age, as well as the dawn of the missile age. Like all combat-experience aircraft, it had a relatively short life during its operational use (only about twenty years or so as a fighter), but was used a little longer as a recce aircraft; and beyond that in export service to France and the Philippines. The Crusader was used extensively in combat operations in Vietnam, played a crucial role in the Cuban Missile Crisis, and gave the newer F-4 Phantoms a fair run for their money in terms of air combat capability during this time. It is interesting to note that the 'elderly' F-8 Crusader had a better kill overall ratio in air combat in Vietnam than its F-4 successor.

This is part two of this model series, covering the F-8D, F-8E, and F-8H base models; with a total of 22 model options and 54 individual squadron paints. I am fairly confident that if any operational squadron of the USN and USMC used this aircraft from the late 50s to the late 60s, it is covered here at some time frame. Subsequent releases will include the later USN/USMC models, as well as the French and Philippine exports. Extensive credits and instructions are in the documentation. Base model and paint by Michael Pearson, flight dynamics by Michael McIntyre.

Airbus A318 FD Special Version V3 - Complete Pack Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This is the new version of my Airbus A318 with the Panel in V3 opened on the A321. I remind you that this aircraft is based on the Project Airbis A318, with an ehanced panel based on the work of stefan Liebe.

This latest development can see the more realistic Airbus available as freeware. With a new version of the panel, the aircraft has a 100% cold & dark Status at the start of a flight, a real fuel system management with all valves, piumps and crossfeed work, the complete Bleed circuit with X-bleed, a real engines manual startup procedure like the real aircraft. I have also ehanced the navigation display with TCAS function in ARC and NAV mode; There is also the engines failure procedure to work (fire, oil leaks....) and many improved function that I cannot describe here. The aircraft comes with user manual in English and in French, and it is essantial to read it before you fly.

All the functions of the V2 have been kept and improved, like the vertical navigation gauge, the terrain radar map on the navigation display, the autolanding function, the SFCC. Aircraft comes with 6 liveries (Air France and 5 Frontier liveries realized by Project Airbus Team). This version is only in CFm engines, but with real engine data (CFM56-5B9). Now, the Fly By wire works in 2 modes: "Normal Law" and "Direct Law". I put 300 hours into the development of this panel and I hope that you will like it. In the coming weeks, I will adapt this panel to the A319 V2 and A320 V2, that are the these are the last aircrafts that I must update with this new panel. Please, note that this panel is the v3.05 version, witch fixes the bugs of the first version that came with the A321 (there is an update panel for the A321). Francois Dore

Eurocopter EC-505 Tiger Download

File Description:
TIGER HAP The Tiger HAP/HCP (Helicoptere d'Appui Protection / Helicopter for Close Protection) is a medium-weight air-to-air combat and fire support helicopter built for the French Army. The Tiger HAP is an air-to-air combat and fire support medium-weight (6 tonnes) helicopter fitted with 2 MTR 390 engines. It is daytime and night combat capable and is operable in NBC environments. Three basic parameters were taken into account right from the start of the development phase: low (visual, radar and infrared) detectability, which provides excellent survivability on the battlefield, maximum efficiency of the weapons and the associated fire control systems without heavier workload for the crew, and an optimized logistic concept offering minimum possession costs. The Tiger HAP is fitted with a 30-mm gun turret; 68-mm submunition rokets, and air-to-air Mistral missiles. It also features a firing sight with 3 sensors: infrared, TV camera and direct optical channel. The complete avionics suite includes multi-purpose color displays and radar/laser warning receivers. TIGER UHT The UHT (from Unterstützungshubschrauber Tiger; Ger. supporting helicopter Tiger) is a medium-weight multi-role fire support helicopter built for the Bundeswehr (German Army). The Tiger UHT is a multi-role fire support helicopter. The Trigat Fire and Forget missiles and/or the Hot missiles it carries offer anti-tank capability, while 68-mm rockets ensure air-to-ground fire support. A 12.7 mm air-to-air gun pod and air-to-air Stinger missiles can also be installed. The helicopter also features a mast-mounted sight with a second-generation IRCCD infrared channel and a TV channel, as well as a nose-mounted IRCCD control FLIR for the pilot. Countermeasures include radar/laser/missiles launch/missile approach warning receivers and decoy launchers. TIGER ARH The Tiger ARH (Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter) is the version ordered by the Australian Army to replace its OH-58 Kiowas and UH-1 Iroquois-based 'Bushranger' gunships.[2] The Tiger ARH is a modified and upgraded version of the Tiger HAP with upgraded MTR390 engines as well as a laser designator incorporated in the Strix sight for the firing of Hellfire II air-to-ground missiles. Instead of SNEB unguided rockets, the ARH will operate 70 mm (2.75 in.) rockets from Belgian developer, Forges de Zeebruges (FZ). Model, textures by www.afs-design.de - Author: A.Meyer.

Mesolonghi Airport - Rio-Antirio Bridge - Greece ** UPDATED VERSION ** Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
These are actually two sceneries offered in one pack. I started building the small airport of Mesolonghi in Western Greece. When nearing completion, I thought that FS was really missing the big suspension Bridge that connects mainland Greece with Peloponese that was finished in 2004, being the biggest in the world of the fully suspended type. The bridge project turned out bigger than the airport as I ended up doing the typical, Greek-style double ended ferries that served the straights for decades before the bridge and still offer a cheaper and, to some, more relaxing alternative.

Mesolonghi airport is situated 5 kilometers east of the historic city of Mesolonghi and is close to the technical school of fisheries. There is no ICAO code (ZZZZ) so I had to give it the fictional LGME in the sim. A purely day field, it houses the local Aeroclub and ultralight school. due to its small size and hospitable atmoshpere, it is a popular GA pilots destination, receiving also often international arrivals. The runway is asphalt and 800m (2635') in length. No PAPI or VASI are provided. There is no tower service and unicom frequency of 119.7MHz is used by the traffic. Closest controlled airport is Araxos (LGRX), a civil and military field, quite common in Greece, 12.5 nautical miles S-SE. The nearby city of Mesolonghi is famous for its heroic resistance and fall in 1826 during the Greek war of indepence. It is also famous for its fishery production, due to the natural lagoon, formed by the shallow waters.

Features of the Mesolonghi airport scenery include:
- Photoreal area with seasonal variations and watermask.
- Custom hangars and containerised buidings.
- AI default trike performing TnGs (in P3D it will work only if you copy over the FSX trike).
- The technical shool of fisheries on the north side.
- Customized shorelines, to fit with ORBX Global Vector.
- Optional shoreline fix for default scenery.

The Rio-Antirio bridge is located 14.5 nautical miles to the east of the airport. It connects the towns of Rio on the south side and Antirio on the north side. More data on the bridge can be found on Wikipedia.

Features of the Rio-Antirio bridge scenery include:
- Custom bridge model, bump mapped textures with hard platform surface and vehicle traffic.
- Night lighting textures and custom roadlights.
- Photoreal scenery for north and south shores, including hand placed autogen and night textures.
- Custom castle models on north and south sides, with bump mapped textures and night lighting.
- Custom model of the toll post on the north side.
- Custom AI ferry boats with constant shuttle service between Rio and Antirion piers.
- Customized shorelines, to fit with ORBX Global Vector.
- Optional shoreline fix for default scenery.
- Optional HDR optimized photoreal textures.

North American T6_Harvard Download

File Description:
North American T6_Harvard This aircraft has has been constructed using Gmax v1.2. The aircraft is constructed with as few polygons as possible and with a single texture file to ensure the absolute minimum impact on your framerates. There are two models- each has seven LODs. The aircraft has had an amazing history with first prototype flying in 1935. To quote from Wikipedia "A total of 15,495 T-6s of all variants were built.During the Korean War and to a lesser extent, the Vietnam war, T-6s were pressed into service as forward air control aircraft. These aircraft were designated T-6 "Mosquito"s.[1] The RAF used the Harvard in Kenya against the Mau Mau in the 1950s where they operated with 20 lb bombs and machine guns against the gangs. Some operations took place at altitudes around 20,000 ft asl. A Harvard was the longest-serving RAF aeroplane, with an example, taken on strength in 1945, still serving in the 1990s (as a chase plane for helicopter test flights - a role the Shorts Tucano's high stall speed was ill-suited for). The T-6G was also used in a light attack or counter insurgency role by France during the Algerian war in special Escadrilles d'Aviation L©g¨re d'Appui (EALA), armed with machine guns, bombs and rockets. At its peak there were 38 EALA's active. The largest unit was the Groupe d'Aviation L©g¨re d'Appui 72, which consisted of up to 21 EALAs. Portugal also used ex-French aircraft during the Portuguese Colonial War. Since the Second World War, the T-6 has been a regular participant at air shows, and was used in many movies. For example, in Tora! Tora! Tora! and The Final Countdown, converted single-seat T-6s painted in Japanese markings represent Mitsubishi Zeroes. The New Zealand Warbirds "Roaring 40s" aerobatic team use ex-Royal New Zealand Air Force Harvards. The Reno National Air Races also has a class specifically for the T-6 during the National Air Races each year." This GMax model is quite fun to fly as a normal aircraft, but was originally designed specifically to enhance the AI aircraft population. I would like to especially thank Ray Blake who has kindly made these high quality textures for this package. A paintkit is being posted as a separate zip file.

P-47D 334th FS "Miss Plainfield" Download

File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the A2A Wings of Power III P-47D Thunderbolt, representing P-47C 42-7945 flown by Lieutenant Spiros 'the Greek' Pisanos of the 334th FS, 4th FG, Finschhafen, New Guinea, 1944. Born in Athens, Greece, in the suburb of Kolonos, on 10 November 1919, Spiros Nicholas "Steve" Pisanos, the son of a subway motorman, came to America in April 1938, as a crew member on a Greek Merchant ship. Arriving in Baltimore, Maryland and unable to speak English, Steve found his way to New York City, where he worked in bakeries and restaurants. As he earned money he started flying lessons at Floyd Bennett Field. In August 1940, he setled i Plainfield, New Jersey, his adopted home town, and continued flying lessons at Westfield Airport. He earned a private pilot's license and, although still a Greek national, in October 1941 he joined the British Royal Air Force sponsored by the Clayton Knight Committee in New York City. Steve began his military flight training at Polaris Flight Academy in Glendale, California. Upon graduation, Pilot Officer Pisanos was transferred to England where he completed RAF Officers Training School at Cosford, England and OTU (Operational Training Unit) at Old Sarum Aerodrome in Salisbury. Pilot Officer Pisanos was posted to the 268 Fighter Squadron at Snailwell Aerodrome in Newmarket flying P-51A's. He later transferred to the 71 Eagle Squadron, one of the three Eagle squadrons in the RAF, comprised of American volunteers flyin Spitfires at Debden RAF Aerodrome. When the USAAF 4th Fighter Group absorbed the American members of the Eagle Squadrons in September and October 1942, Pilot Officer Pisanos was commissioned a lieutenant in the U.S. Army Air Forces. On 3 May 1943, Lt. Pisanos was naturalized as an American citizen in London, England, becoming the first individual in American history to be naturalized outside the Continental United States. Flying his first mission in his P-47 "Miss Plainfield" out of Debden Aerodrome with the 334th Fighter Squadron, 4th Fighter Group, Lt. Pisanos, "The Flying Greek," scored his first victory on 21 May 1943, when he downed a German FW-190 over Ghent, Belgium. by 1 January 1944 he had become an ace with five confirmed victories. On 5 March 1944, he obtained his 10th victory and while returning from that B-17 escort mission to Limoges and Bordeaux, France, Steve experienced engine failure in his P-51B and crash-landed south of Le Havre. For six months he evaded the Germans and worked with the French Resistance and the American OSS sabotaging the German war machine in occupied France. Lt. Pisanos returned to England on 2 September 1944, following the liberation of Paris. Upon returning to the United States, Captain Pisanos was assigned to the Flight Test Division at Wright Field, Ohio. He attended the USAF Test Pilot School and subsequently served as a test pilot at Wright Field and Muroc Lake, California, testing the YP-80 jet aircraft. During his career in the USAF, Steve graduated from the University of Maryland, attended the Air Command and Staff College and the Air War College. In December 1973, after a distinguished thirty years of service in the United States Air Force, he retired with the rank of Colonel. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by Martin Catney
