| KPHX - Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport |
|
File Description:
This is an AFCAD2 for the default Phoenix Sky Harbor airport. My most accurate AFCAD yet. I was able to use the jetway shadows and others objects on the default land mass to accurately place each gate in the exact real life position they were when the photograph was taken. I utilized other satellite images and many photos from airliners.net to help verify exact gate and airline locations. Only difference here unfortuantely is there are no jetways, only jetway shadows. Maybe someone can make some jetways for this KPHX? 99.9% of all gates at the real airport are present in this AFCAD, and properly numbered. I've also included the cargo and military ramp, America West and Southwest maintenance parking, as well as added a few GA gates for you civil flyers. This AFCAD is roughly as of March 2005, so parts of Taxiway Echo near Terminal 4-D are closed and under construction in the AFCAD. I've closed 8/26 for takeoffs and used it with 7R/25L for landings. 7L/25R will be used as the primary takeoff runway. I think that covers everything. If you have time, select the Top-Down view in your sim, and you can see all the jetways from the land mass lined up with each aircraft. Kinda cool, enjoy! :) If there are any errors, let me know. Thanks.

The also "civilian" "T" (Transatlantic) version of the very same S.79 performed exceptionally in the 1938 Atlantic crossing Roma-Dakar-Rio de Janeiro and in a 1939 experimental test meant to verify the feasibility of an airline passengers and mail line between Italy and South America for the civilian airlines (Ala Littoria S.A.- Linee Aeree Atlantiche, later called L.A.T.I./Linee Aeree Transcontinentali Italiane) over the routes of Southern Atlantic Ocean.
3 new different GMax models, covering 3 different versions of the civilian S.79 described above and featuring the standard animated parts, such as all flight controls, props pitch and leading-edge slats. Ten (10) different liveries depicting all the S.79CS team which flew the 1937 Istres-Damascus-Paris Race, the 1938 Roma-Rio de Janeiro Expedition and 1939 Transatlantic Test flight. | RAF Chivenor 1979-1992 |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
Originally a civil airfield opened in the 1930s, the site was taken over by the Royal Air Force in May 1940 for use as a Coastal Command Station, and was known as RAF Chivenor. After the Second World War, the station was largely used for training, particularly weapons training. During the 1960s, one of the RAF's Tactical Weapons Units (TWU) used Hawker Hunter aircraft for training. In 1974 the station was left on "care and maintenance", though No. 624 Volunteer Gliding Squadron continued to fly from there. The TWU returned, flying BAE Hawks, in 1979 and 1981. In 1994, the TWU left Chivenor, merging with No. 4 Flying Training School at RAF Valley, and the airfield was handed over to the Royal Marines.
This scenery includes all the Hawk aircraft of 2 TWU in both camouflage and air defence grey schemes, depending on your preferred choice. There are flightplans included, which are representative only, but enables the aircraft to fly to bases and checkpoints around the country.
The scenery has been constructed using objects mainly from MAIW sceneries, which will need to be installed in order to gain the full visual experience. With BIG thanks to Nick Black for the use of his superb AI Hawk, and to Chris A. Brown for paintin' 'em!

| Lockheed L-749A Constellation TWA 1958 |
|
File Description:
FS2004 Lockheed L-749A Constellation TWA 1958.
In June 1939 TWA (Transcontinental & Western Air) required a four-engined airliner capable of flying transcontinental US services non stop west to east or with one stop travelling in the opposite direction against the prevailing wind. The specification was drawn up by TWA's major shareholder Howard Hughes and TWA-director Jack Frye. The intial result was the L-49 Constellation, but before the first aircraft was built WWII broke out and the Connie was drafted by the militaries as C-69. After the war the C-69 was renamed L-049 Constellation and delivered to a.o. TWA (27). The L-649 and L-749 Constellations were the first true civil versions. TWA used 12 L-749's and 28 L-749A's from March 1948 till 1967. This particular L-749A, N6001C 'Star of New Jersey', flew with TWA from 24 March 1950 till September 1966. It was scrapped in 1968.
This repaint is a much improved version of the one issued in 2006. It has not been tested for the FSX version of Abacus' Constallation but probably will function there as well.
These are textures only. You will require Francisco Sánchez-Castañer's great payware Lockheed L-749 Constellation, which can be obtained from Abacus' Platinum Collection (see http://www.abacuspub.com/default.html). Repaint (based on Francisco Sánchez-Castañer's textures) by Maarten Brouwer.

| Destination Finder for FS9 v1.1 |
|
File Description:
In this program, you enter the ICAO code of your start airport, the distance you wish to fly, and the heading on which you wish to fly. The program will search through all the stock airports in FS9, and will compile a list of airports nearest to your desired destination. For extra flexibility, you can also leave the heading and/or the distance unspecified. Alternatively, the program can now read your aircraft’s position in all versions of FS, and use that as the starting point of the search. You can optionally specify a maximum and/or minimum length for the runway, whether the runway must have an ILS, a maximum elevation for the destination airport, the runway surface (hard or soft or water) and whether the airport should be civil or military or either. The program can be useful for planning your own flight or for drawing up AI flightplans. It is a standalone program, and uses FS9 airport and runway data, but, with that limitation in mind, it can equally be used with other versions of FS. Version 1.1 has a much improved formula for calculating longitude and latitude over longer distances, and is now very accurate over all distances. Version 1.1 also incorporates a number of new features suggested by user feedback. The upgrade is recommended for all users. Needs the .NET Framework 2.0.
