Now the ATC voice can properly refer to this assortment of AI, ground vehicles, and aircraft ranging from the exotic to the mundane to the overlooked. Highlights of this group include several for use with PZL aircraft and several ships.

File Description:
The airfield was opened in 1941 for use by the Royal Air Force (RAF) but by 1942 the aerodrome had been taken over by the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) for training as part of No. 6 Group RCAF.
The station is now more famously known as the site of Croft Circuit, a motor racing circuit which hosts various car championships including the British Touring Car Championship.

Reg.-Id. CA+022, msn 45066, sn 696, was one
of four DC-6Bs operated by Government Flying
Group of the Ministry of Defence between 1961
and about 1968 for transport flights to
overseas training-centers and for VIP-flights
of Members of the German government. Sometimes
it got the role of the "GERMAN AIR FORCE ONE",
when Chancellor Adenauer was on board the
aircraft.
