File Description: This folder contains four repaints for the Warbirdsim P-51D, in the colors of P-51D's based on Iwo Jima between June and August 1945. Included are: 44-63822 #150 "L'il Butch" of the 47th FS/15th FG, the aircraft of Capt. Walter H. "Sam" Powell, the CO of the 47th FS; 44-63541 #227 "Mary Alyce", as it was flown by 1st Lt Robert J. Louwers, of the 46th FS/21st FG; 44-73623 #300 "My Achin' " of Major Harry C. Crim Jr, the CO of the 531st FS/21st FG, in two versions, one right after arrival on Iwo Jima, and one later, when the pinups were replaced with mission and victory markings; Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by Warbirdsim.
