FS2004 Tutorial: Gauge graphics, Part 1. This comprehensive article describes methods for simulating gauge bodies, data windows, controls, and panel cutouts. Shadows, transparencies, text, beveling, feathering, contouring, textures, illumination, plus a host of other techniques are detailed. Over 300 illustrations were used to show how the graphics for an example FS gauge were created. The demo gauge is fully functional and available separately for D/L, file PatGauV1.zip. Major fractional fleet operators, such as Netjets are covered, all corporate owners and every military and government operated example.
Very easy installation for FS2004 users, flight plan textfiles are included for FS2002 users.

Most of us modify panels at some time or another. If understanding more about panel construction catches your interest, then this 4-part tutorial can help get you started. By building a panel from beginning to end, graphic techniques will be illustrated in a step-by-step, easy to learn approach. They will teach how to make the structural components of a panel and wrap them in simulated 3D effects to achieve near-photographic realism.
