Douglas A-26B Invader, 552nd BS, 386th BG, 9th AF

File Description:
Texture set for an A-26B Invader, 9th Air Force, 1945 This is a repaint only for the SOH A-26 Invader, depicting an A-26B attached to the 552nd Bomb Squadron, 386th Bomb Group, 9th Air Force. Based in Belgium during 1945. The aircraft is fitted with an early style "six-gun nose." You will need the new six-gun nosed model with turrets (A26cmargie.zip) By John Terrell which is available at Sim-Outhouse and here at Avsim installed as well as the SOH A-26 complete package from Sim-Outhouse.

USAF Douglas DB-26 B and C Drone Launch Invaders

File Description:
Three texture sets for two USAF drone launching B-26 Invaders, of the 4750th Drone Squadron, Vincent AFB (later Yuma MCAS after 1958), Yuma, AZ and the 4756th Drone Squadron, Tyndall AFB, FL in the late Fifties and Early Sixties. This set of repaint textures for the SOH A-26 Invader, depicting a set of DB-26 drone launching aircraft of the USAF in the late Fifties and early Sixties. The aircraft were unarmed and had pylons installed under both wings for carrying and launching Ryan Firebee drones. Sadly, the model doesn't have the drones. I also want to thank Mr. Jim Brink, who was the commanding officer of the 4750th Drone Squadron when they started with the DB-26's, for his pictures and help in making these repaints accurate. Also, for putting me in touch with Mr. John Nitka, who has researched Firebee launch operations for fifteen years and has collected a treasure trove of information (his father worked on the DB-26's at Vincent AFB and Tyndall AFB). It was he who shared the squadron emblems with me and provided several pictures without which I could not have completed these repaints, nor the next few I intend to do. My sincere and grateful thanks to both of them. It is to Jim Brink, and John Nitka's Dad, that I dedicate these repaints as well as to all who maintained or flew them.

Douglas B-66B, 86th BS/47th BW, RAF Sculthorpe 1960

File Description:
The aircraft represented a B-66B (BB-384/B) of the 86th BS/47th BW, based at RAF Sculthorpe from 1959 to 1962. These textures are intended for use with the Alpha Simulations "B-66 Destroyer" payware aircraft package. If you don't have the Alphasim B-66 Destroyer and you like Cold War era aircraft you really should get a copy. It is well researched and designed for max realism with max enjoyment. Island in the Sky Douglas C-47 Skytrain USAF 'Corsair'

File Description:
Based on original textures by Jan Visser, this texture set is a representation of the fictional USAF C-47 flown by John Wayne as Dooley in the 1953 classic film, "Island in the Sky". It is intended to complement an article written by Harold "Farmboyzim" Zimmer for the December 2007 issue of "Computer Pilot" magazine. Harold's review of "Island in the Sky" can be found at http://farmboyzimsflightsims.com/IslandintheSky_film_review.html. The texture set requires the base R4D-6/DC-3A package available from Mid Atlantic Air Museum Simulations (MAAM-SIM) at www.maam.org, together with two subsequent free C-47 enhancements to that product. McDonnell Douglas/Boeing F/A-18 Hornet, VFMAT-101 'Sharpshooters'

File Description:
This is a set of VMFAT-101 "Sharpshooters" textures for the FSX Acceleration F/A-18 Hornet. Marine Fighter Attack Training Squadron 101 (VMFAT-101), the Sharpshooters were commissioned at Marine Corps Air Station El Toro, Calif. Jan. 3, 1969, as part of Marine Combat Crew Readiness Training Group 10, 3d Marine Aircraft Wing. By June 1990 the Sharpshooters had graduated over 150 Hornet aircrew, amassed over 28,000 F/A-18 A, B, C and D flight hours.
