File Description:
This Flight is based on the book "Solo to Sydney", written by Francis Chichester in 1933, in which he tells the tale of his flight from
London to Sydney in his little de Havilland Gypsy Moth between December 1929 and January 1930.
It covers some 14,000 miles and more than 20 days. He spent 182 hours in the air in total, often exceeding 8 hours per day and, on one occasion, spending 14 hours out of 24 aloft.
Chichester later in life became famous, and was knighted for, his solo navigation around the world in his yacht "Gypsy Moth IV".

SkyHigh Audio Simulations is proud to present our brand new radial engine Douglas DC-3 Pratt and Whitney R-1830 sound pack for FSX! This sound could also be used for other twin engine P&W R-1830 powered aircraft such as the PBY Catalina/Canso.
FSX's sound cone technology has been extensively used to provide as much of a realistic sound experience as possible in the exterior view. Features include propwash sound effects from immediately behind the propeller, realistic radial engine start-up sounds, and a very realistic sounding fly-by! SkyHigh Audio Simulations' usual touches have been added such as using audio recordings only from Dogulas DC-3 and other P&W R1830 radial engine powered aircraft as source files to provide a fully authentic sound experience for the simmer. Kernan Aviation (http://www.kernanaviation.co.uk/) operates a fleet of microlight aircraft out of a home strip about two miles north of the town of Tandragee, Northern Ireland. The field is as described in their site, a home strip. There is a 300m long gravel runway with just 3.5m width. The runway intersects a road and has a generally North-South direction (actually 355-175 magnetic). There is an equivalent length grass runway to the east just over the small stream where students practice grass tngs and emergency landings. The field sports a roomy hangar, a clubhouse and a briefing house, as well as outdoor seating and barbecue facilities.
The scenery uses photoreal background and is made to match the FTX Northern Ireland region by ORBX. It will work best with that region activated. Seasonal variations are included for all seasons, including hard winter with snow (January). In order however to cater for those not having this scenery I have provided alternative background bgls for two more options, i.e. ORBX Global textures and GEX textures. The alternative bgls do not have the hard winter option as this is a feature only of FTX NI. The scenery will have also no problem to fit with UTX and Global vector. All buildings were custom made from photos of the original. The scenery has been tested and found to work also in P3D v2.3.

File Description:
These are 24-bit templates on which to base repaints of the FS2004/FS2002 MAAM-SIM DC-3 available from Mid-Atlantic Air Museum Simulations (MAAM-SIM) at www.maam.org. They cannot be used with the default FS2004 DC-3. This is not a 'paint kit' as such, as the original MAAM-SIM DC-3 bitmaps are partly photoreal. Rather, these are semi-finished templates on which to base further work. This initial package comprises bare metal and white top liveries for the base Passenger and Cargo DC-3 models in different variations, together with revised alpha channel templates. Simple instructions are included. These base textures reflect commonly found "background" configurations for many liveries, and will save repainters time by not having to get rid of the default colour schemes found in the original package before starting work. Please note that further templates will be issued to complement any future versions of the MAAM-SIM model. The intention is that those templates can be added to this base 'paintkit' folder, the methodology and basic instructions being similar for all paints. Where changes to the model invoke changes in texture mapping or other differences, this will be noted with each new package provided. Sports a high resolution fully operable virtual cockpit, possibly the first ever choke simulation
in FS as well as some seemingly familiar instruments with rather unusual modes of operation, plus
audible switches, buttons - and side windows. Full checklist in English and German, almost identical
to the real plane's. Flight characteristics and aircraft operation closely tuned to the real bird.
Usable as procedure simulator within the limits of Flight Simulator.
