We proudly present this scenery of the airport and air base of Bordeaux Merignac (LFBD) as it was around 1961.
We have produced this scenery to provide taxiways and details as they were around this period.
We have also included new parking to allow the AI aircraft to taxi correctly at the new (old!)
airport. Although we did not always have enough photos and information we tried to come as close as possible.
Our goal was to reflect something of the atmosphere and feel of that period, prior to the all-jet era of today.

This repaint depicts Boeing's 736-80 Development aircraft (707 Prototype). Tex Johnson barrel rolled this aircraft to demonstrate how good the aircraft flies. This aircraft is now preserved in the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. This repaint requires either Captain Sim's "Legendary 707" or Just_flight's "707 professional". I have not been able to make this repaint TCE compatible due to incompatibility issues with my system and the TCE program. This paint is "yet another" one based on "Old Glory". I know I'm British... but the American flag is really one of the most impressive ones to use as a paint theme on aircraft. The British "Union Flag" (as it is properly called) simply doesn't "wave" as nicely on my paints yet - I need more practice.
This paint also uses those fantastic high resolution bumpmaps created by the OZx Redux painter team - thanks guys!

Le Bourget airport north of Paris is one of the world's oldest airports.
It dates back to the early days of World War One,
when land was seized for a military airfield.
The airport opened for commercial operations in 1919.
Possibly the most significant historical event was
Charles Lindbergh's landing there after his historic
solo transatlantic flight on Mai 21st, 1927.
We have produced this scenery to provide taxiways and details
as they were around 1960 in Paris le Bourget
We've also included new parking to allow the AI aircraft to taxi
correctly at the new (old!) airport.
New in version 2 : Upgraded terminal textures by Rui Cristina
and new custom made hangars.
