Downsview Airport or Toronto/Downsview Airport, (IATA: YZD, ICAO: CYZD), is located in Toronto, Ontario and has been exclusively used and owned as a testing facility by Bombardier Aerospace since 1994. Downsview Airport has its own fire service (Bombardier Emergency Services) which covers airport operations (using two airport fire rescue vehicles) and plant operations (using two SUV emergency vehicles). Bombardier Emergency Services employs robust employees who are trained as fire fighters, paramedics, and as peace officers (despite being a private airport, its security force is sworn in as Peace Officers per Canadian Airport Standards as well as being sworn fire fighters under the authority of the Ontario Fire Marshall).
The Downsview Airport was developed in 1939 as an airfield next to an aircraft manufacturing plant operated by de Havilland Canada. In 1947, the Department of National Defence purchased property surrounding the airfield and expanded it, creating RCAF Station Downsview to provide an air base for Royal Canadian Air Force units. The base was renamed Canadian Forces Base Toronto (Downsview) in 1968 and retained this name until its closure in 1994.
Since 1998, the property has been administered by a civilian Crown corporation Parc Downsview Park, which co-manages the airfield with Bombardier Aerospace (the successor to de Havilland Canada). In recent years the property has been undergoing various landscape usage plans and some redevelopment has taken place.
The airfield was used in recent years to host the 1984 and 2002 Papal visits by Pope John Paul II, as well as to host the 2003 SARS concert headlined by the Rolling Stones.
The airfield has also served as a test site for several famous aircraft produced by de Havilland, including the Beaver, the Twin Otter, and the Dash 8. The airport is available to pilots only with prior permission.

Re-upload. FS2004 KNILM Douglas DC-3. Before and after World War II KLM was a major European operator of the Douglas DC-3. The first DC-3 entered service with KLM in October 1936. This made KLM the first operator of the DC-3 in Europe. 22 others would join before Nazi-Germany invaded the Netherlands on 10 May 1940 and occupied the country for five dark years. The KLM DC-3's served destinations in Europe as well as the famous 'Indies-route' from Amsterdam to Batavia (Dutch East Indies; nowadays Jakarta, Indonesia). Those DC-3's present at Amsterdam-Schiphol, if not destroyed by bombs, were impounded by the Germans. Other DC-3's that happened to be
elsewhere out of reach of the enemy found their way either to the Dutch East Indies where they served on the KNILM routes to various destinations in Far East Asia and Australia until the Japanese invasion in February 1942, or to England where they were leased by BOAC for the London (later Bristol) to Lisbon service. PH-ALP 'Pelikaan' ('Pelican') ended up in the Dutch East Indies, was bought by KNILM (Royal Netherlands Indies Airways) as PK-AFV. On her last flight on 3 March 1942 from Batavia to Broome, Australia, Japanese Zero fighters shot at PK-AFV and set her alight. The aircraft succesfully crash-landed on the beach at Carnon Bay, Australia. The repaint of PK-AFV is based on the templates Mark Beaumont created for the MAAM-SIM Douglas DC-3 (passenger version), which were based on Jan Visser's original textures. These are textures only. It was the most important Italian bomber of World War II, this tough three-engined aircraft established a reputation that contrasted with most Italian weapons of the day, and it was flown with courage and skill. SM.79s served widely in the normal bombing role, but it is as a land-based torpedo bomber that the type deserves its place in military aviation history, being regarded by many as one of the finest torpedo bombers of the war. In spite of its cumbersome appearance and outdated construction, with an internal provision for 2,750 lb (1,250 kg) of bombs, supplemented by under fuselage rack for a torpedo, the S.M.79 was a rugged, reliable multi-role medium bomber which did quite a bit of damage in the face of heavy opposition. About 1,300 production models were built over a nine year period. The SM.79 had a distinctive 'hump' on the upper forward fuselage, which housed both the fixed forward-firing heavy machine-gun and the dorsal gunner's position. Its appearance earned the aircraft the nickname 'Gobbo Maledetto' ('Damned Hunchback'). During the last phases of the war the surviving SM.79s were converted into various versions of utility transports and used in that role until 1952.

YNUL Nullagine - Shire of East Pilbara with added ORBX textures. Nullagine is serviced by a gravel airstrip. This facility provides a vital air link. RFDS, Police, and local charter operators all rely on this airstrip for the provision of vital services to the communities. Nullagine is an old goldrush town in Western Australia's Pilbara region. It is located on the Nullagine River 296 km south-east of Port Hedland and 1,364 km north-north-east of Perth on the old Great Northern Highway. The town originated from gold being discovered in the area in 1886 by a prospector, N.W. Cooke. The population increased sharply as a result and by the mid 1890s the community wanted to have a town declared. Lots were surveyed and released in 1897 and the state government gazetted the town in 1899. Nullagine comes from the Aboriginal name of a nearby river, the Ngullagine river; the meaning of the word is unknown. Besides gold other minerals were mined in the area including diamonds and other gemstones. Between 1895 and 1914 the town boomed and contained a number of general stores, three hotels, eight stamp mills and a population of over 3,000. Its population was 1,500 prior to World War II. Now, with the decline of gold mining, only about 200 remain. However the town still attracts fossickers and prospectors who visit the surrounding area, which is particularly rich in minerals such as agate, asbestos, antimony, beryl, chalcedony, copper, jade, jasper, manganese, tiger eye and wolfram. The town is also the place of the Yirrangadji Aboriginal Community. The Martu people make up the bulk of this population. REQUIRES Blencowe_LibraryKit.zip

INS Vikramaditya was commisioned into the Soviet Navy as Baku in 1988. It is the third and final remaining Kiev class carrier, the other two being Admiral Kuznetsov and Lioning. Like Lioning, Vikramaditya was purchased from Russia but that is pretty much where the similarity ends. The Chinese quietly bought Varyag under the guise that it would be converted into another floating hotel or casino as had been done several times in the past; then, almost to everyones surprise, they re-built and announced they had an aircraft carrier. India contracted with Russia to complete the refit which began an epic saga of international proportions that encompassed espionage, honey traps and logarithmically expanding budgets. Originally promised for 2008, the latest quotes expect delivery in October/November 2013.
I think the carrier looks very sporty or yacht-like, with the ski-jump bow and the oversized island which has been criticized for being too far into the middle of the deck; it is said to be India's final non-indigenous warship and future flagship to serve for the next 20 to 30 years.
This model is intended for placement with AI Carriers, by Lamont Clark. It has animated radars, working cables, catapults and deck lights. The IFLOS is calibrated, but the catapults will only activate if the airplane deploys a launch bar. The Vikramaditya uses retractable chocks to allow aircraft to develop full thrust, but I could not find a way to lock an aircraft to represent the STOBAR configuration without using catapults. I did not define the elevators because they do not operate and are in the middle of the deck. There are two ships included for escort, the INS Talwar and a Russian Fregat II class ASW destroyer. They have hard decks and night lighting, animated radars, funnel smoke, etc.

Madonna della Corona Verona Italy N45.39.64 E10.53.34 A sanctuary set in the Rock of Monte Baldo at about 1350 Ft in the Adige valley.The Corona Sanctuary is a place of silence and meditation, suspended between heaven and earth, hidden in the heart of the Baldo rocks. Medieval documents attest that already around the year 1000 in the Baldo area lived hermits linked to the Abbey of San Zeno in Verona and that at least from the second half of 1200 there existed a monastery and a chapel dedicated to S. Maria di Montebaldo accessible through a narrow and dangerous path in the rock. During the sixteenth century the two access stairs still visible were made: the widest, of 556 steps, which from the source of Spiazzi, then called "Fonte dell'Indipendenza", descended to the bridge of the lime tree, and the narrower one, of 234 steps, carved into the rock along the original narrow path that led from the bridge to the church. In 1974 the architect Guido Tisato was entrusted with the task of drawing up a project for a global intervention that envisaged the demolition of the existing Church, the preservation of the most valid and significant parts and the construction of a broader structure. Demolition and reconstruction of the Sanctuary were carried out between 1975 and 1978 and on June 4, 1978 the Bishop Giuseppe Carraro was able to proceed with the dedication of the new Sanctuary and the new altar. In 1982 the sanctuary was given the title "minor basilica". On April 17, 1988, Pope John Paul II visited and prayed to Our Lady of the Crown. Yellow ‘1’, W.Nr. 5057, was flown by the commander of 6. Staffel JG 51, Josef Priller, and underwent several camouflage color modifications through its career. According to some sources, the initial scheme was composed of RLM 70/71/65. However, it is easier to confirm later variations, when the underside light blue was extended up the sides of the fuselage, and quite high up at that. Later, this color was subdued by the application of irregular squiggles of RLM 02 and 71. Furthermore, the upper surfaces of the wing, originally composed of broken lines, were augmented in a similar manner as the fuselage sides. This was the appearance of the aircraft in the fall of 1940, and as depicted by our profile. At the time, the aircraft also received a yellow nose section and rudder. The extent of the front end yellow coloring is up for speculation. The emblem of II./JG 51 ‘Gott strafe England!’ (God punish England!) shown on the rear of the fuselage, is sprayed on without the usual white background, only with the black border around a black raven with an umbrella, symbolizing Neville Chamberlain. The Staffel marking in the form of the Ace of Hearts subsequently was used on Priller’s later aircraft as a personal marking. The kill marks denoting Priller’s aerial victories on the tail in the form of vertical tabs with dates, partially obscured the Swastika. Beer lover Josef Priller attained 101 aerial victories in 1,307 operational flights between 1939 and 1945.TEXTURES only. Included are textures for a non-Swastika version. Repaint for the Shockwave (A2) Messerschmitt BF 109 for FSX. The aircraft works without issues in P3D. Just copy aircraft the installation folder from FSX to the P3D Simobjects folder.

This folder contains a repaint for the Shockwave World War II Fighters P-47D Thunderbolt, representing the aircraft flown by Lt Jerry Wurmser of the 316thnd FS/324th FG, in France and Germany, between 6 march 1945 and the end of the war. He is still alive, and told me: "The name "Black Sheep" was already painted on the plane when it was assigned to me. It previously had been assigned to someone in Britain, and eventually ended up in France after either being shot down or having crashed and then repaired. It had a brand new engine in it when I received it on March 6, 1945. At this time I had already completed 39 missions, and finally was assigned my own airplane. My first flight in it was to break in the new engine, or "slow time" it. This required flying it about for a period of time at very low throttle settings, to break in the new engine. The plane had already seen a lot of action, and the "form 1" contained a long list of malfunctions that was written up by the previous flyers and dates of repairs. Several times I had to sign the "exceptional release" form before going up, acknowledging that I knew and understood what the previous pilot stated what was wrong with it. This plane was a razorback, with the tail assembly out of line, so that I had to apply rudder correction constantly. It got such bad gas mileage that I carried one less bomb and a gas tank instead. I hated that plane. I finally did get a new bubble canopy plane, but by this time the War was over!"
Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on two repaint kits, one by John Terrell and one by Shockwave. Included is a 1024 x 1024 bmp repaint, which should work in both FS9 and FSX.

This folder contains a repaint for the P-51B/C model for FSX by Warbirdsim. North American Mustang Mk.III, FZ-152 SS, the aircraft of Wing Commander Stanislaw Skalski when he was the C/O of 133 (Polish) Fighter Wing in June 1944. He was the first allied ace of the war, having shot down six german aircraft by 16 september 1939. After the Polish defeat, he fled Poland and joined the RAF, fighting in the battle of Britain. In 1942, he was given command of the Polish Fighting Team (PFT), or so called "Cyrk Skalskiego" (Skalski's Circus) - a Special Flight consisting of fifteen experienced Polish fighter pilot volunteers. They fought in the North African campaign until may 1943. Skalski then became commander of 601 (County of London) Squadron the first Pole to command an RAF Squadron. He then took part in the invasion of Sicily and invasion of Italy. From December 1943 to April 1944 he flew with 131 Polish Fighter Wing. On 4 April 1944 he was appointed commander of No. 133 Polish Fighter Wing flying the Mustang Mk III. Stanislaw Skalski was the most successful Polish ace of WW II, with a record of 22 confirmed victories, 1 probable, and 1 damaged enemy aircraft. Three times he was awarded the British DFC, and he received many other medals. After the war he returned to Poland in 1947 and joined the Air Force of the Polish Army. In 1948 however he was arrested by the communist regime under the false charge of espionage. Sentenced to death, he spent three years awaiting the execution, after which his sentence was changed to life imprisonment in Wronki Prison. After the end of Stalinism in Poland, in 1956 he was released, rehabilitated, and allowed to join the military. He served at various posts in the Headquarters of the Polish Air Forces. Stanislaw Skalski died in Warsaw on 12 November 2004. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the warbirdsim paintkit.
