This package depicts VFA-106 which is the United States Navy and United States Marine Corps east coast Hornet and Superhornet fleet replacement squadron. This squadron is used to train new and transitioning F/A-18 pilots and weapon systems operators. This package depicts VFA-106 operations at NAS Oceana as well as the detachments at NAS Key West. VASP 1998 AI Package

File Description:
VASP was the 2nd largest airline in Brazil, but was scaling down by 1998. VASP still had a great international network stretching to ATH/KIX/ICN/LAX/YYZ/JFK/BCN/ZRH ect. A fleet of 10 MD-11s did all the long haul flying, as well as plenty of domestic flights. 3 A300s and a large 737-200/300 fleet served the domestic routes. While VARIG was based in GIG, VASP was based in GRU and the planes tend to hang out there. There was only 1 special livery, which was a named MD-11, so not much variation unlike VARIG. VASP did serve SDU and CGH with mainline equipment, however, so these plans will help populate those airports. Included are repaints by Raphael Rodrigues for the FAIB 737-200, 737-300, FSPX MD-11, and TFS A300B4. Flightplans by Chasen Richardson. Part of the 1998 Flight Simulator Project. Nordeste 1998 AI Package

File Description:
Nordeste from 1995 onwards was a division of VARIG and operated in the same capacity as Rio Sul, but with a separate identity. The carrier operated the Fokker 50, EMB-120, and 737-500 in 1998 all in the old livery. The new 1997 livery didn't become introduced to the Nordeste fleet for 2 years until 1999. Passaredo 1998 AI Package

File Description:
Passaredo is still around today as a Brazilian commuter airline. However, in 1998, the airline also had a pair of A310-300s operating charters across Brazil and into the Caribbean in addition to 3 EMB-120s flying scheduled domestic routes. The A310s frequent both SBGL and SBGR so those are good places to spot them. Repaints by Jonathan Alba for the TFS A310-300 and AIA EMB-120 included. Flightplans by Raphael Rodrigues. Transbrasil 1998 AI Package

File Description:
In 1998, Transbrasil was the 3rd largest airline in Brazil, but nearing the end of it's life, ceasing operations in 2001. Transbrasil had a decent number of 767s in 1998 flying both around Brazil and to Europe and North America, while 737-300s and 737-400s served the domestic market. Planes had the wings and titles painted in different vivid colors making for good variety, and there was a Futura hybrid 737-400 as well as a new 1998 livery applied to some 737s. PLUNA 1998 AI Package

File Description:
PLUNA of Uruguay was owned by VARIG, and aircraft were often swapped back and forth or operated in full VARIG colors as needed. By 1998, the 707 had recently left the fleet in favor of a DC-10-30 leased from VARIG and used for multi-stop flights to Madrid. There were 3 variations of the 737; standard, VARIG hybrid, and a special livery. Raphael Rodrigues has painted all 3 and I will be uploading them to Avsim this week. Note that some of the aircraft are scheduled for long ground times in Brazil, likely as maintenance was done there. Textures by Raphael Rodrigues included for the FAIB 737-200. Also note that sources say the DC-10-30 left the fleet in 1998, which would suggest a VARIG DC-10-30 covered these flights. Itapemirim 1998 AI Package

File Description:
Itapemirim Cargo flew brightly painted 727s across Brazil and up to Mexico from 1991-2000. But from 1997 to 1998, they operated a passenger division with Cessna 208 Caravans based in SBRJ. By the end of 1998, TAM had taken interest in this operation and the flights were merged into TAM Express. KLM 1998 AI Package

File Description:
By 1998, the KLM/Northwest alliance was in full swing, and KLM was serving MSP, DTW, and even MEM daily with it's own metal while Northwest took over from KLM from BOS, IAD, and some other cities. KLM had a vast route network spanning the globe, serving much of Africa and the Middle East with many "tag on" routes onward from Amsterdam. By 1998, KLM was flying the MD-11, 747-200SUD(stretched upper deck), 747-200SUD Combi, 747-300 Combi, 747-400, 747-400 Combi, 767-300ER, 737-300, 737-400, and 6 mainline Fokker 100s which were short lived before going to KLM UK in late 1998 then on to CityHopper. Unfortunately, in the OAG, KLM only specified if a 747 was a combi or not(as in 747=744/742 while 74M can be a combi version of the 742,743, or 744) and did not differentiate between 737-300s and 737-400s. I did my best using what data I had to make the routes realistic, but the aircraft numbers at least are correct except for some extra 767s and 737s that you may remove if you wish. I also had issues making sure the TPE flights were all operated by "KLM Asia" 747s, so I ended up assigning 1 extra 747(I have 5, in real life there were 4) the Asia livery to ensure that you do not see a standard KLM 747 at TPE as they did not visit in real life. You may switch this to a normal 747 if you choose. Repaints by Raphael Rodrigues for the AIA Fokker 100 and FAIB 737-300, 737-400, 767-300, 747-200SUD, 747-300, and 747-400 along with flightplans by Chasen Richardson are included. Note that the 747-200SUD uses the 747-300 model. As a Bonus, the KLM Cargo 747-200SUD is also included.Part of the 1998 Flight Simulator Project. Ryanair 1999 AI Package

File Description:
Ryanair is the infamous Irish low-cost airline that set out to battle Aer Lingus and British Airways on flights between Ireland and the UK. By 1999, the airline had a large fleet of 737-200s with many advertisement special liveries and had accepted the first few 737-800s of the 45 it had initially ordered. Dublin and London-Stansted were the largest hubs at the time. The airline would explode over the next 2 decades and today is one of the largest carriers in Europe.
