This package contains two repaints for Jens B. Kristensen's FS2004 Douglas DC-4 & C-54 V3.0. Featured is the C-54A (modified to DC-4 standard) N57670 of Resort Airlines: one repaint representing the aircraft around 1956, the other at the end of its open air storage in 1961. Resort Airlines Inc (of Washington, DC, and Oakland, CA) was a US non-scheduled carrier that specialised in the operation of inclusive holiday tours to the Caribbean and also in military charter flying (Logair). The airline was operative between 1945 and 1960. Its fleet comprised of Curtiss C-46, Lockheed 1049H Super Constellation and Douglas DC-4/C-54 aircraft. Around 1961-62 five C-54s which had been stored at Oakland for some time, ranging from several months to 6 years, were rescued by Aviation Traders (of Southend and Stansted, England) from the scrapdealer's axe and converted to ATL.98 Carvair car-ferry and cargo aircraft. N57670, which was active with Resort during 1954-1956 only and had been deteriorating during the open air storage, was one of these lucky birds.

Re-upload. FSX/FS2004 KLM Douglas C-54B-DC PH-DBZ. Built a C-54B-1-DC Skymaster at Chicago, IL, for the USAAF (c/n 10480). Powered by four 1,350 hp Pratt & Whitney R-2000-7 engines.After WW2 struck off and converted by Douglas at Santa Monica, CA (DC-4 conversion No. 67, powered by four 1,450 hp Pratt & Whitney Twin Wasp 2SD13G engines). Sold on 15 January 1947 to Santa Fe Skyways as N90862 'Sky Chief Apache'. Sold on 24 May 1948 to KLM as PH-TEZ 'Zeeland'. Used as a freighter only. Re-registered PH-DBZ on 29 March 1954. Broken up in 1958. Remains sold on 20 April 1959 to Aviation Traders Ltd., Southend, UK. Fuselage used as a mock up for the ATL.98 Carvair. Tail section of fuselage used to replace damaged tail section of Carvair #1 in July-September 1961. You will require Jens B. Douglas DC-3D, (c/n 42969) Bought by Commercial Air Services on 6 September 1964 and registered as ZS-DXW. Operated schedules and charters until sold in November 1982 to Ethiopian Airlines and registered as ET-AIB. Douglas C47A-30-DL, (c/n 9628) USAF 42-23766. Used by USAF, SAAF, BEA, Autair, Arika, Continental, Air Links, Skyways, National Airways, Protea Airways and Swazi Air. Bought by Comair in February 1974 and registered as ZS-IWL. Sold to Ethiopian Airlines in November 1982 and registered as ET-AIA. Douglas DC-3D, (c/n 42963) USed by Det Danske Fultfartselskab, SAS, Dagens Nyheter, Linjeflyg and Austrian Airlines. Bought by Comair in September 1968 and registered as ZS-FRM. Used in scheduled and charter operations until February 1987. Sold to MIB Aviation in November 1988 and operated in Mozambique on behalf of the Red Cross. Destroyed at Wilson Airport, Kenya in January 1996.
