FSX-FS9 texture only for L. Guzman's Curtiss C-46 Commando in the fictional civilian livery of Orville Brede Southport-Fleming Aero. Blue striped with white top on a bare metal fuselage similar to a DC-3 based in 1970's at Fleming Field KSGS in South St. Paul, Minnesota, where Mr. Brede operated his flight service and school. 1942 USAAF C-46A. This is a further modification of the mod by Terry Jones (ga_c46_tj.zip) of the original aircraft by Libardo Guzman, Tom Gibson and Greg Pepper (c46ga.zip). It features a new photo-based panel design, a new design Radio Range Gauge, AutoRich/AutoLean mixture controls, Controls to automatically raise (and prevent lowering) the flaps based on speed, Improved flight dynamics, Panel switches for the doors, Separate cabin and cockpit lights switches, and Fuel quantity gauges for the rear wing tanks. Included are the appropriate models and textures for a complete FS9 aircraft installation.

The C-47 had a very lively career in the Vietnam War. As as excellent "bush" aircraft, it was of course used to fly cargo's into the backwoods of Laos in support of anti-Communist tribes working with the Americans, but it was also used for both electronic intelligence (ELINT) and as a gunship.

File Description:
This file contains two alternative textures for the freeware Douglas C-47 by Manfred Jahn and team. One set of textures depicts the C-47A PH-MAG in the colours of Martin's Air Charter (currently Martinair) as it looked in the period 1965 untill 1968. The second set are for the PH-DDZ "Doornroosje" from the Dutch Dakota Association in its current historic Martinair colours. I want to thank Manfred Jahn and his team for creating this beautiful model. For this repaint the excellent paintkit by Manfred Jahn and team was used.
