| South African Air Force Douglas C-47 |

File Description:
Douglas C-47A-75-DL, (c/n 12478) Delivered to RAF under the 'Lend/Lease' scheme as Dakota Mk.IIIA, KG443 on 9 February 1944. Flown to South Africa 26 February 1944. Served with 28 Squadron in 1945, 27 and 44 Squadrons in 1946, 25 Squadron until 1975-79 and thereafter 35 Squadron until 1992. On 28-29 December 1952 while with 28 Squadron flew Dr J L B Smith from Durban to Pamanzi in the Comoros Islands and back to recover the rare Coelacanth fish. Currently on display at SAAF Museum, AFB Ysterplaat in Cape Town.

| Search and Rescue of a C 47 |

File Description:
A Douglas C47 took off from CZST for a flight to CBU2 both in BC Canada. Apx 11 minutes after takeoff the plane reported on 121.5, "smoke in the cabin". It was very close to a mountain side. A witness reported light smoke coming from the plane as it flew into a small cloudbank.

This folder contains a repaint for P3Dv4.5 PBR version of the Douglas C-47 by Manfred Jahn and colleagues in the colors of Ozark Air Lines N763A. This is c/n 4894, an ex USAAF 41-20124 C-53, delivered on 18 March 1942. It became US Navy R4D-3 05078 and was assigned to VR-1. After the war it flew with Continental as NC73726 and with Southern as N70SA. It then passed through several owners until bought by the Prairie Avaiation Museum in 1984, and used for the 35 anniversary of Ozark Air Lines. It is still airworthy. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom for Manfred Jahn's C-47 for P3Dv4.5, with PBR, Rivet and bump detail by Ted (Tufun) Wolfgang."

This folder contains a repaint for version 3.14 of the Douglas C-47 by Manfred Jahn and colleagues in the colors of C-47B 79001 of the Swedish Air Force that was at the start of the Catalina affair (Swedish: Catalinaaffären), a military confrontation and Cold War-era diplomatic crisis in June 1952, in which Soviet fighter jets shot down two Swedish aircraft over international waters in the Baltic Sea. The first aircraft to be shot down was an unarmed Swedish Air Force Tp 79, a derivative of the Douglas DC-3, carrying out radio and radar signals intelligence-gathering for the National Defence Radio Establishment. None of the crew of eight was rescued. The second aircraft to be shot down was a Swedish Air Force Tp 47, a Catalina flying boat, involved in the search and rescue operation for the missing DC-3. The Catalina's crew of five was saved. The Soviet Union publicly denied involvement until its dissolution in 1991. The aircraft was manufactured in 1943 with original US serial number 42-5694, and was delivered to USAAF 15th Troop Carrier Squadron (61st Troop Carrier Group). It saw action in northern Africa before being stationed at RAF Barkston Heath. On June 13, 1952, it disappeared east of the isle of Gotska Sandön while carrying out signals intelligence-gathering operations for the Swedish National Defence Radio Establishment. Both aircraft were located in 2003, and the DC-3 was salvaged, and the wreckage is currently on display in the Swedish Air Force Museum near Linköping. | Caribair Douglas C-47 / DC-3 (N65389) |

File Description:
Caribair was an international airline that was based in San Juan, Puerto Rico. In 1970, the air carrier was serving sixteen destinations on fourteen islands in the Caribbean region as well as Miami, which was the airline's only destination on the U.S. mainland. Caribair was taken over by Eastern Air Lines in 1973.The N65389 "201" was one of the 11 DC-3/C-47 in there fleet.
Besides the outside, the inside and the pilot's got a different look.
This is a repaint only, you need to install the beautiful freeware plane first. It's available here:

This folder contains a repaint for P3Dv4.5 PBR version of the Douglas C-47 by Manfred Jahn and colleagues in the colors of DC-3C N777YA, which is flying with Bush Air Cargo from Anchorage, Alaska. Originally built in 1944 (c/n 25634), it first flew with the USAAF (43-48373), before serving with the US Navy (17259). In 1946 it was registered with Wien Alaska Airlines as NC21769 and then saw service with Aero Retardent Inc. as N777DG, Pacific Galactic as N777PG and finally with Woods Air Service as N777YA before being sold to its present owner. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom for Manfred Jahn's C-47 for P3Dv4.5, with PBR, Rivet and bump detail by Ted (Tufun) Wolfgang.

This folder contains a repaint for version 3.14 of the Douglas C-47 by Manfred Jahn and colleagues in the colors of C-47A-75-DL c/n 19431 USAAF serial 42-100968, which flew with the 319th TCS/ 1st Air Commando Group in northern Burma during november 1944 in operation Grubworm, the airlift to China. She later took part in the feb '45 airlift to Meiktila and the may '45 airborne assault on Rangoon. After the war, she flew as VT-AUQ first with Air India and later with Kalinga Airlines. She crashed in 1965, while dropping supplies N of Mohanbari, India.Repaint by Jan Kees Blom for Manfred Jahn's C-47 version 3.14, based on the paintkit by Gman5250.
