Fuerza Aerea Venezolana C-47A-5-DK FAV-1840,C/N 12386 builded by the Oklahoma City production plant for the USAAF as 42-92571.Ex RAF KG377,G-AJAV,N19D,YV-E-EPO and YV-T-RTC.FAV-1840 was the last operative C-47 of the FAV,retired in 2003,after his reactivation for display purposes in the 80s.He was also the only FAV C-47 to wear a operational camouflage.The first 20 C-47s were delivered to the FAV, Escuadrón de Transporte No.1, in 1947 together with the presidencial DC-4 and retired of service by 1971. The base textures for repainting are by Mark Beaumont, original textures are by Jan Visser.Repainted by Daniel Nole.In order to use these textures, you must already have the MAAM-SIM payware DC3 and the MAAM-SIM D-Day C-47 'Skytrain'and Dakota Mk III Expansion Pack installed in your FS2004 aircraft folder.

| DC-3/C-47 Pratt & Whitney R-1830 Sound Set |

This is a scratch built full 3D sound set for Manfred Jahn & Team's wonderful C-47 Skytrain package. While flying the C-47 in the sim I felt there was some room left to improve the engine sounds. And what started as messing around with parameters ended up in me composing an entirely new sound set starring the Pratt & Whitney R-1830.
The sound set attempts to push the boundaries of what is possible in FSX/P3D. If you fly the C-47 in a realistic manner, this sound set will provide a realistic sound environment. No less than 17 samples are used per engine in order to recreate the external sound environment (everything 44,1KHz high quality audio) while making extensive use of sound cones to cover all the angles. In fact this sound set uses source material from 4 real life C-47As.
All of the aforementioned results in a "study level" sound set that hopes to do justice to the real thing.

This folder contains two repaints for version 3.14 of the Douglas C-47 by Manfred Jahn and colleagues in the colors of C-47 #5, S/N 41-18527. This was one of the first from the 316th Sq.
ATC, to visit Project 19 (a aircraft repair facility in East Africa, operated by Douglas), delivering worn out parts and returning rebuilt engines to the RAF. It eventually took part in the invasion of Sicily, where, the pilot, Lt. George Quisenberry received wounds from German FLAK. The shell destroyed the nose of the Aircraft, knocking out all instruments except the stand by compass. Jiminy carried the crew back with nothing but the moon and the sticking standby compass. It was later used for experimental night camouflage, and this paintscheme is included as well as JK_Cricket. Jiminy Cricket continued to serve till May 1, 1947, when it was salvaged. This folder contains a repaint for version 3.14 of the Douglas C-47 by Manfred Jahn and colleagues in the colors of A65-78 of the RAAF. Built as C-47B-25-DK 44-76345, it went to the RAAF in 1945, and was the first allied aircraft to fly into Hiroshima after the atomic bombing. It went to the ARDU in 1956 and was withdrwan from operational use in 1999. It is currently in the RAAF Museum in Point Cook. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom for Manfred Jahn's C-47 version 3.14, based on the paintkit by Gman5250.

File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for version 3.14 of the Douglas C-47 by Manfred Jahn and colleagues in the colors of ZS-IPX of the General Erection Co of South Africa. It was built as c/n 26439 (43-49178), but went to the SAAF as 6849. After the war, it flew in South Africa and Botswana with several owners, and was converted to a turboprop. It was exported to the US and sold to Venezuela in 2008. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom for Manfred Jahn's C-47 version 3.14, based on the paintkit by Gman5250.

File Description:
Central African Airways (CAA) was formed in 1946 and was the national carrier of the Central African Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland. It was headquartered in Salisbury, Southern Rhodesia. In 1956 CAA operated 5 Douglas C-47's mainly as second line aircraft. In 1964 CAA established Air Malawi, Air Rhodesia and Zambia Airways as subsidiary airlines and in 1967 all CAA assets were divided among the three subsidiaries and CAA ceased to be an operator on 31 August 1967. Textures only. Prior installation of Manfred Jahn's outstanding FS2004 Douglas C-47 Base Pack is required. Repaint by Andre Reimers.

File Description:
This is a small fix that corrects a problem in the two FS2004 RAF Dakotas as originally uploaded, as well as the 6th Edition of the R4D/DC-3/C-47 CD. These two planes got FS8 air files in error and this self-installer will substitute the correct FS9 ones. If you prefer to do it yourself, simply copy and paste one of the American C-47's air files into the two British planes. This patch is not required for downloads after June 9, 2005, nor for the CD 7th Edition and later, as they have been patched.
