| Rhodesian Air Services Douglas C-47 Skytrain |

File Description:
A texture set for Manfred Jahn's C-47 showing c/n 25928 in Rhodesian Air Services colours registration VP-YUU. The aircraft was delivered to the USAF as 43-48667 in 1943. In 1944 she was transfered to the RAF as KJ897. From 1951 she was registered as G-AMKE and was operated first by Field's and then BEA. From 1961 to 1962 she was leased to South Pacific Airlines of NZ. In 1962 she was bought by Rhodesian Air Services and later sold to Central African Airways, eventually becoming 9J-RDR when transfered to Zambia Airways after the break up of CAA. The front section of her fuselage was preserved as a "Dak in the wall" pub at Phoebus Apollo Aviation in Johannesburg.

Douglas C-47B-30-DK, (c/n 32948) Delivered to RAF under the 'Lend/Lease' scheme as KN472 on 28 March 1945. To South African Air Force as 6868. Used as VIP transport and named 'Rustig'. Converted to C-47TP in 1992. To Dodson Aviation in 1998 and as N194RD. To Samaritan's Purse on 29 Aug 2001 as N467SF. Still active.

Douglas C-47A-75-DL, (c/n 12478) Delivered to RAF under the 'Lend/Lease' scheme as Dakota Mk.IIIA, KG443 on 9 February 1944. Flown to South Africa 26 February 1944. Served with 28 Squadron in 1945, 27 and 44 Squadrons in 1946, 25 Squadron until 1975-79 and thereafter 35 Squadron until 1992. On 28-29 December 1952 while with 28 Squadron flew Dr J L B Smith from Durban to Pamanzi in the Comoros Islands and back to recover the rare Coelacanth fish. Currently on display at SAAF Museum, AFB Ysterplaat in Cape Town.

This aircraft (I-BOLO) was used from 1947 until 1948 by Italian "Aerea Teseo S.A.".This textures set in "Aerea Teseo" livery requires the beautyful C-47 (V2) package by Manfred Jahn and team (Douglas_c-47_v2.zip).

File Description:
The real repaint (textures only) for Manfred Jahn's (+ the Team) model of Douglas C-47/DC-3 (Skytrain/Dakota). You need to have this great model of Douglas_C-47_V3 (V3 Beta). Textures tested in P3Dv3. The repaint of C-47B 43-49942 - N47HL, Commemorative Air Force. This C-47 was built in 1944 and was flown to Canada where it was transferred to the UK under the lend-lease program. In Britain it was assigned to the 435th Transport Squadron, a Canadian unit. It served in the China/Burma/India theater until the end of WW2. After the war the aircraft returned to Canada and in the mid-1990s the aircraft returned to the USA. The CAF acquired the aircraft in 2002 and spent 2 years on the restoration of the aircraft.

This repaint depicts a RAF, 47 Sqn, C-130J in its 100th Anniversary scheme. This livery requires Captain Sims payware C-130 X-periance and the C-130J expansion, or Justflights "C-130 Hercules" (FSX Version). Any comments welcome via my email address. This folder contains a repaint for P3Dv4.5 PBR version of the Douglas C-47 by Manfred Jahn and colleagues in the colors of C-47A-20-DK VH-BAA of Brain & Brwon Airfreighters. C/n 13084 42-93199 flew with the RAAF as A65-49 VH-CIE before joining Qantas in 1946 as VH-EAL, EBH and EBW. It went to Brain & Brown in 1960 and flew with them until 1979. It was then taken to the Warbirds Aviation Museum in Mildura, but was moved to Alice Springs in 1995 to join the Cenbtral Australian Aviation Museum, where it is now painted in the colors of VH-EWE of Connair. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom for Manfred Jahn's C-47 for P3Dv4.5, with PBR, Rivet and bump detail by Ted (Tufun) Wolfgang."

This folder contains a repaint for P3Dv4.5 PBR version of the Douglas C-47 by Manfred Jahn and colleagues in the colors of C-47A-20-DK VP-BAP of Bahamas Airways. It was built as 43-93226 and became NC47259 after the war. It went to Jamaica Airways as VP-JAP and then to Bahamas Airways in 1947. Later it was painted in a pseudo BOAC scheme when BOAC bought an interest in Bahamas Airways. It was later sold to BWIA and became VP-TBF. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom for Manfred Jahn's C-47 for P3Dv4.5, with PBR, Rivet and bump detail by Ted (Tufun) Wolfgang."

This folder contains a repaint for P3Dv4.5 PBR version of the Douglas C-47 by Manfred Jahn and colleagues in the colors of DC-3C N777YA, which is flying with Bush Air Cargo from Anchorage, Alaska. Originally built in 1944 (c/n 25634), it first flew with the USAAF (43-48373), before serving with the US Navy (17259). In 1946 it was registered with Wien Alaska Airlines as NC21769 and then saw service with Aero Retardent Inc. as N777DG, Pacific Galactic as N777PG and finally with Woods Air Service as N777YA before being sold to its present owner. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom for Manfred Jahn's C-47 for P3Dv4.5, with PBR, Rivet and bump detail by Ted (Tufun) Wolfgang.
