Retro AI flightplans and individual repaints for 78 aircraft of the Unites States Air Force 23 TFS, 81 TFS and 480 TFS of 52 TFW based at Spangdahlem [ETAD], Germany [version 2.0]. Two basic options included... Spangdahlem 1985: all three squadrons are equiped with F-4E and F-4G Phantoms all painted in "Euro1". Spangdahlem 1988: all three squadrons are equiped with F-16C/D Falcons and F-4G Phantoms of which most Phantoms are painted in "Euro1" and some of them in the grey "Hill" colour scheme. All the flightplans were individually tailored for the aircraft manually. This is to give a more realistic set of flightplans and is a massive update of Version 1.0 with retro destinations and additional flightplans added together with revised departure/arrival times. The new version of models.res refined by Ansgar Avermeyer and the Catalina model is from Capt.Bazza's AI
from 1999. He demonstrate as first the feasibility of AI model modifications :-).
Duxford UKS is at the geographic correct position very near to Fowlmere also included in this package.
A Tigermoth as moving object (not AI) is flying from Fowlmere to Duxford 06L.

| Boeing B-17G 91st BG (LL-E) "Shoo shoo shoo baby" |

This folder contains a repaint for the A2A WoP2 B-17G in the colors B-17G-35-BO 42-32076, which rolled off Boeing's production line in Seattle in march 1944. This was around the transition from camouflaged to bare metal aircraft, which led to the odd situation that the datablock was stencilled onto a OD panel, while the rest of the aircraft was left bare metal. This was because the datablock was sprayed on right at the beginning of production. The aircraft was assigned to the 401st BS of the 91st BG, and was collected at the depot in Burtonwood by Paul McDuffee, who was so impressed with its smooth handling that he asked to be assigned to it. The aircraft was named by its crew chief, Hank Cordes, and was named after a popular song by the Andrews Sisters. Originally, the name was 'Shoo shoo baby', applied in gothic letters, which was later replaced by a Vargas girl and an additional 'shoo', painted by Cpl. Tony Starcer. McDuffee flew 13 missions with 076, before completing his tour of duty. On completion of his last flight, he buzzed the airfield and flew so low that fencing wire became entangled in the tail wheel. On the plane's 23rd mission, on 29 may 1944, Lt. Robert Guenther was flying 076 on a raid to Poznan when he suffered engine failure on one engine, and a while later, flak knocked out a second engine. 'Shoo shoo shoo baby' started to fall behind, and when a third engine started to falter, Lt Guenther decided to turn to neutral Sweden, with the crew jettisoning all loose equipment. A group of FW190's closed in, but did not open fire, peeling away. By the time 076 reached Bulltofta airfield near Malmö, it had only one engine left, but it did manage to perform a safe landing. The crew were interned, and the aircraft was impounded. The crew returned to the UK in October 1944, and 'Shoo shoo shoo baby' would later tour the world...

This folder contains a repaint for the Spitfire Mk.IX by FlyingIron, in the colors of Spitfire IX MA585 KH-B of 403rd Squadron RCAF as flown by Pilot Officer George Beurling in 1943. He was Canada's most succesful ace, shooting down 27 axis aircraft in just 14 days over Malta in 1942, His final score mounted to 31. | Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress #43-97976 "A Bit o' Lace" |

This folder contains a repaint for the accu-sim version of the A2A B-17G Flying Fortress. It represents #42-97976 "A Bit o' Lace", which was assigned to the 709th BS /447th BG. The nose art consisted of a cartoon by Milton Caniff. The co-pilot was Lt. John Bauman, a fraternity brother of Milton Caniff. He sent Caniff a detailed idea of the proposed artwork and the sketch was returned with Caniff's annotation: "A Bit-O-Lace for Lt. John H. Bauman, and the rest of the gang, with my best wishes - Milton Caniff NY, Oct. 1944". Nicholas Fingelly, an artist attached to the 709th BS, carried out the work and completed the painting in about six hours and gave Milton Caniff full credit for his his character. Her first crew flew 35 missions over Europe with no injuries, although returning with a good many holes, at times. The closest call was when a piece of shrapnel came up through Navigator's table and "Ike" Eisenhart's arms, but missed him. A surprise souvenir for Ike, which he still has. She flew more missions with different crews, until the april 4, 1945 flight. From the navigator, John Kirkwood: "Right over Kiel, and seconds before the bomb release, I heard the co-pilot say that "This airplane feels funny." Seconds later the tail gunner, who had regained his power of speech, blurted out something to the effect that part of "The tail was gone." A flak shell had gone right through the left horizontal tail, leaving only a partial surface, and completely removing the left elevator.
We dropped out of the formation, and tried to drop the bombs, but the electrical system failed. We flew north a minute or so, the plane now in the hands of the pilot. The pilot did not want to drop over Denmark, so we turned out over sea, and dropped via screwdriver. Actually, we were over Schleswig-Holstein, according to my position, but it was close, and Tom did not want to chance killing danes.
We flew on, at a reduced speed, far out to sea on a west-south-west course with occasional ETA's to the pilot. Several fighters joined us, and finally we got back to the base, and the runway was cleared for us. A decision had to be made by the pilot: To jump or ride her in.. Tom decided that he could land the plane, so we all congregated to the radio room, and that was that.
I might add that none of us had any desire to jump. Most of the photos of 976 were taken after repairs, hence the dark colored rudder and left elevator. As you know, the color prior to the damage was silver. 976 flew one or two missions after that, but I never saw her again, other than in a color photo of the moth-balled fleet in Arizona."

A repaint for the Warbirdsim P-51B in the colors of North American Mustang Mk.III, KH-516, flown by F/L Jerzy Mencel, RAF 309 Squadron (Polish). Like the majority of the RAF's Mk.III Mustangs late in the war, KH-516 is fitted with a Malcolm Hood Canopy. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom.
