File Description:
Boeing B-52 Stratofortress (Part 11). The B-52 first flew in 1952, the last one was built in 1961, and there are still over 90 of the original 744 airframes either in front-line service or in a ready-reserve status. With extensive avionics upgrades starting this year, the USAF plans on using the B-52s until 2045, 93 years after first flight. The aircraft has an impressive resume, having served in five shooting wars and was the backbone of Strategic Air Command's nuclear deterrent air component during almost forty years of Cold War service.
Jake Burrus started this AI traffic model a couple of years ago, and I was honored to pick up the project and get it across the finish line, with no small amount of help from Mike MacIntyre, as usual. This is a 7-LOD AI traffic model representing the Stratofortress in all of its operational service. This is part 11, showcasing the B-52H used from 1987 to 1992; with a total of 48 repaints. Also included are optional models for VFR traffic use. Aircraft model by Jake Burrus and Mike Pearson, master textures and repaints by Mike Pearson, flight dynamics by Mike MacIntyre. Models by Milton Shupe, panel and gauges by Scott Thomas, textures by Damian Radice, and Sounds by Gary Jones.
Not Recommended for FSX as the VC is not a full model, just a bare-bones interior model. It has been stripped of all non-essential elements to work well for a lighter demand on older, slower computers.
Four "lite" VC models and 10 sets of DXT3 (NO MIP Maps) textures included. This package will coexist with the heavier original package.

This works for both FS9 and FSX. Tested in FSX. FS9 model used.
For FSX users make sure you have UNCHECKED "Aircraft casts shadows on the ground" under the Aircraft - Exterior Settings in FSX to make any FS9-based model visible during the day!
Texture quality; FSX Native: DDS DXT5 with alpha. FS9 Native: BMP DXT3 with alpha.
FSX Light Fix included in the DDS night texture.
Custom Light Map. Custom Shadows, Highs, Weathering as usual...

You need the basekit for this to work!!
