B25 Mitchell for X-Plane 6.40/6.51 Download

File Description:
B25 Mitchell for X-Plane 6.40/6.51. Made famous by the Doolittle raid on Tokyo shortly after Pearl Harbour the B25 Mitchell bomber is the most famous medium bomber of WWII and perhaps of all time. The B25 was the most numerous twin engine aircraft built by the US during WWII; estimates of production vary from 9300 to 11000 built. On April 18, 1942 Doolittle led sixteen B-25 aircraft from the navy carrier, U.S.S. Hornet to bomb Japan in retaliation for that country's attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. Although little damage was done and all planes were lost the raid proved to be one of the most famous missions of the war. The B25 was powered by a pair of 1,700 hp Wright R-2600-29 "Cyclone" 14 cylinder, air-cooled engines. Maximum speed was 272 mph at 15,000 ft, with a ceiling of 24,000 ft and a range of 1350 miles with a full load of bombs. Armament varied considerably in the B25 depending on the type of mission the plane was designed for. Heavenly Body is a B25J designed as a bomber, so it carried eleven 0.50 caliber machine guns; two in the top turret, two in the tail, one in the nose, two in cheek packs on each side under the pilot and one in each waste window. The top, nose and cheek pack guns could also be used in strafing, if so desired. This version carried 3,000 lbs of bombs (usually six 500 pounders) in an interior bomb bay. The X-Plane version is a fairly faithful rendition of the B25. The body consists of two sections consisting of the fuselage and a fuel tank. The main engine nacelles actually consist of two nacelles, one is the 1700 HP engine, the rear section is a 5 lb thrust rocket. Engine nacelles are also used for the two rudders in order to get the correct shape. Vertical stabilizers with rudders are buried within the nacelles. Decoration of the plane is complicated by the use of multiple nacelles but the resulting compromise is acceptable though not an authentic replica. As usual my panel leaves a lot to be desired but version 2 will correct this.

B36J Peacemaker for X-Plane 6.4-6.6 Download

File Description:
B36 Jv1.1 Peacemaker for X-Plane 6.4-6.6 - Upgraded panel but still not custom; J version with 3800 HP engines. The B36 Peacemaker was the last propeller driven bomber put into service by the US. With 6 - 3800 Hp radial engines and a gross takeoff weight of 410,000 lbs the early versions like the A and B variant were woefully underpowered. This file is the later J version with 4 - 5200 lb static thrust jet engines added. Never called into active service the B36 provided the US long range nuclear determent until the jet B52 came into service. The B36 is a huge airplane with a large payload capacity, 10000 mile range and long endurance. See the read me file for distribution and copyright information.

 Wingspan: 230 feet
 Length: 162 feet
 Wing Area: 4770 square feet
 Maximum Take-off Weight: 410,000 pounds
Maximum Bomb Payload: 2x 48,000 pound Grand Slam bombs
 Powerplant: 6 x 3800 hp radial engines, 4 x 5,200 pound thrust J47-GE-19 turbojets.

P38 v1.1 For X-Plane 6.4-6.6 Download

File Description:
P38v1.1 for X-Plane 6.4-6.6. Improved paint job, panel and other minor improvements. The P38 developed a a result for a fast long range fighter requested by the US; most manufacturers ignored the call for proposals because of the ridiculous requirements. Lockheed, using the brilliant and unconventional ideas of their designer, Kelly Johnson (who later went on to help design the SR-71 Blackbird among others), came up with a plane that was totally unique for the time. It had two engines, used liquid cooled inlines instead of radials, tricycle landing gear, provided staggering operating ranges and payloads yet was able to maneuver capably with single engined fighters. The test models of the P38 made more "firsts" than any other plane both on paper and in the air.

Seaplane Racer for x-plane 6.6-6.7 Download

File Description:
Seaplane Racer for x-plane 6.6-6.7 - This is the looser (by choice) of my two designs completed for the Seaplane Contest going on at www.x-plane.org. It is the fastest of my two designs capable of 500 mph in level flight at 1500 ft. Powered by two Rolls Royce Merlin V12 engines each developing 2200 HP. The rear engine drives 2- 9' diameter, pusher, four blade, counter rotating props; the front engine drives 2-7.2' diameter, puller, four blade, counter rotating props. Wing tips fold to reduce drag and allow the plane to meet the minimum 200 ft2 wing area. Remove the floats, shorten the landing gear by about 2.7 feet and do over 530 mph. Go to www.x-plane.org go to the forums and click on custom designs to find out more about the seaplane contest.

B58 Hustler for X-Plane 6.4/6.51 Download

File Description:
B58 Hustler v1.0 for X-Plane 6.40/6.51 - development of the B58 began in 1951 with 161 planes delivered to SAC between 1960 and 1970. Americas first supersonic jet bomber (mach 2+) the B58 was designed for high speed delivery of nuclear or conventional weapons from long range as a compliment to the B52 subsonic bomber. One of the most sophisticated planes ever developed, the B58 set many speed and altitude records some of which remain unbroken today. With a gross takeoff weight of 163000 lbs the B58 could cary as much as 101000 lbs of fuel (that's almost 60% of the gross weight). One of the most computerized aircraft ever built, the B58 is amazingly easy to fly without any computer assistance (except the one used to run the x-plane simulator). Go to the attached web sit for the fascinating story of the B58 Hustler. Wing span: 56 ft. 10 in (17.32 m) Length: 96 ft. 9 in (29.49 m) Height: 31 ft. 5 in (9.58 m) Wing Area: 1,542 sq ft (470 sq m) Weights: Empty: 55,560 lb (25,201 kg) Max T/O: 163,000 lb (73,935 kg) Performance: Maximum Speed: 1,321 mph (2,125 km/h) @ 63,150 ft (19,248 m) Combat Ceiling: 63,150 ft (19,248 m) Record Ceiling: 85,360 ft (26,017 m) Combat Radius: 1,750 miles (2,816 km) to, 5,577 miles (8,975 km) with inflight refueling Powerplant: Four General Electric J79-GE-1 turbojet engines rated at 10,500 st. or 16,000 st. with afterburners.

JA37 Viggen for x-plane 7-UPDATE Download

File Description:
JA37 Viggen for X-Plane 7 - With control surfaces now working properly in 7 Beta 5 the flight characteristics now closely follow the actual aircraft. Mach speed at low altitude is a bit high but is correct at mach 2.1 at altitude. Takeoff distance is now down to 1100 or 1200 ft. at 36000 lbs wt. If you have the 7 Beta 3 version of my plane dump it since the flight model isnt close.

This is the Saab JA37 Jaktviggen more commonly known as the Viggen. The plane is well known for its powerful engine, unique thrust reverser system, and its short takeoff and landing capability. At normal takeoff wt. get off in less than 400 m or 440 yards (1/4 mile) and land in 440 m. The Viggen was developed in the late 60's and early 70's; now it is being replaced by the Drakken and the the US F18. Load different weapons on numerous hard points. Make sure to put all of the parts in the weapons folder.
