Chance Vought F4-U Corsair Royal Navy X115 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the A2A/Aircraft Factory F4-U Corsair, in the colors of the aircraft of Robert Hampton "Hammy" Gray VC, DSC. Lt Grey was a Canadian naval officer, pilot, and recipient of the Victoria Cross (VC) during World War II, one of only two members of the Royal Navy's Fleet Air Arm to have been thus decorated in that war. The citation for his VC read: "The KING has been graciously pleased to approve the award of the VICTORIA CROSS for valour to: — the late Temporary Lieutenant Robert Hampton GRAY, R.C.N.V.R.,for great valour in leading an attack on a Japanese destroyer in Onagawa Wan, on 9th August, 1945. In the face of fire from shore batteries and a heavy concentration of fire from some five warships Lieutenant Gray pressed home his attack, flying very low in order to ensure success, and, although he was hit and his aircraft was in flames, he obtained at least one direct hit, sinking the destroyer. Lieutenant Gray has consistently shown a brilliant fighting spirit and most inspiring leadership." Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the A2A paintkit.

This folder contains a repaint for the A2A North American T-6 Texan/Harvard in the colors of T-6G I-SSEP. It was built as a T6-D in 1944, with c/n 121-41586 / 44-80865. It was converted to a T-6G in 1951, becoming 51-14462. After being operated for about a year in North Carolina, it went to Italy as part of the Mutual Defence Assistence Program, becoming MM 54101 of the Aeronautica Militare Italiano. Over the years, it was assigned the codes AA-40, RM-11 and RB-11, ending up at the airport of Bari, where is was more or less forgotten. It was bought by its current owners, a team led by pilots Sandro Pagiarin (who supplied pictures for this repaint) and Luca Eusepi, and painstakingly restored, making its first flight in 2004. It is painted in the colors of a T-6C that flew with the 604th Squadron of the 4th Stormo of Grosseto in the '50's and '60's. It is operated by the Historical Aircraft Group, based in Grosseto. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by A2A.

File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the A2A WoP2 B-17G in the colors of B-17F 42-29591 LL-Z "Tha Shamrock Special" of the 401st BS/ 91st BG based in Bassingbourne UK. Before being transferred to the 91st BG, this aircraft flew two missions with the 95th BG, as 'Easy Aces'. It came to the 91st in june 1943 and was assigned to the care of M.Sgt. Bob Dalton as crew chief. His assitent, Jack Gaffney named it 'The Shamrock Special', adnd painted two girls on either side of the nose, and later a third girl on the tail. This was probably the only aircraft in the 91st with three pieces of art on it. In november, the aircraft, while undergoing repairs, was hit by battle damaged Fort without brakes, ironically called 'the Careful Virgin'. The tail end was severely damaged during the collision, and the whole tail end was replaced with the tail of another aircraft that was damaged from the front. On 30 december 1943, she was back in action and completed another 12 missions, for a total of 26 with the 91st. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by A2A.

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Adding ATC DIGIT Gauge - An Illustrated Tutorial. Adding this little gauge to the panel of your aircraft will allow you to respond to ATC options with your mouse - a very useful alternative to using the keyboard numbers. This brief tutorial shows how to add the ATC DIGIT Gauge by Nick Pike to the default Cessna 172 panel. While this is used to demonstrate the method, the concept can be used on virtually any panel. Setups for the default Cessna 172 and B737-400 are included. No programming knowledge is required and this package includes all of the required files. The tutorial has been compiled in .doc and .pdf formats. Please unzip (using folders option) to a temporary location. ATC DIGIT Gauge courtesy of Nick Pike - Project compilation by David "Opa" Marshall.
