'Breitling' Piper Tomahawk Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This is a livery-paint for the Piper Tomahawk (model for X-Plane made by AWALL86.) X-Plane 9 >> Download the original model by AWALL86 here: http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php? app=downloads&showfile=11697

I deeply fell in love with this lovely bird, Painting it has its limitations, nevertheless this was really a challenge, doing some almost impossible paint-things. This skin depicts the original within the limitations of this model as far as I was able to do. This set includes normalfiles with speculars for plane, interior and pilot. It also includes a customised walnut-panel (for the 3D cockpit-panel only). Doing research for this project, I met Charlotte Forrestier, the lovely Swiss lady-pilot. How to make a nice looking woman from an ugly male pilot ? Never ever expected to do that kind of job. Well ..... please meet Charlotte !!!

Building-in this livery: Unzip this upload to a temp. folder. Copy the folder named Piper Tomahawk Breitling from this download into the LIVERIES-folder of the airplane.. Copy the files named obj3.obj and obj3_NML.png into the main OBJECTS-folder. Placing these two files here will have NO influence on the existing liveries. They will only enhance the beauty of Charlotte Forrestier, our female pilot for the Breitling Tomahawk. Have fun Leen "Flybike" de Jager http://www.flybike-paints.nl

KLM 1956-1960, Lockheed L-749A Constellation Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
First of all for those who installed the repaint package 'Lockheed L-749A Constellation KLM 1950-1955': I overlooked a mistake in the folder texture.KLM-1955-PHLDP. In this package you will also find a replacement bitmap.

KLM was a major European operator of various models of the Lockheed Constellation and Super Constellation. Out of 48 Connies and Super Connies, 11 were L-749 (8 of them later converted to L-749A) and 9 were L-749A Constellations. The first L-749 entered service with KLM in August 1947, and for some 13 years this and the other L-749(A) Connies served on various medium- and long-haul routes. By the end of the 1950's the career of KLM's (Super) Constellation started to come to an end with the arrival of the Douglas DC-7C and, introducing the airlines' jet-age, the DC-8.

Featured are KLM's PH-LDS 'Soerabaja' (1957 livery), PH-LDE 'Utrecht (1958 livery), PH-LDT 'Tilburg' (1958 livery) and PH-LDK 'Amsterdam' (1959 livery), both without and with "Speedpak" cargo pod. These are textures only. You will require Team 749's (Manfred Jahn & Co) Lockheed L-749 Constellation package (lockheed749.zip). Also required Team 749's Lockheed L-749 Constellation models update (749_models_update.zip). Repaints (based on Manfred Jahn's textures) by Maarten Brouwer.

KOPF - Opa Locka - Miami, Florida 2013 Download

File Description:
Opa-locka Airport (IATA: OPF, ICAO: KOPF, FAA LID: OPF), also known as Opa-locka Executive Airport, is a general aviation airport and joint civil-military airfield 10 miles (16 km) north of Downtown Miami, primarily in metropolitan Miami, Florida, United States, with a portion within the city proper of Opa-locka. The airport's control tower is manned from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM. The airport has four fixed base operators. It is owned by Miami-Dade County and operated by the Miami-Dade Aviation Department. The tenant military activity is Coast Guard Air Station Miami, operating HU-25 Guardian jet aircraft, the HC-144 Ocean Sentry[4] turboprop aircraft and HH-65 Dolphin helicopters for coastal patrol and air-sea rescue operations. Much of CGAS Miami's facilities were originally built during World War II as part of the former Naval Air Station Miami. DayJet previously provided an on-demand jet air taxi service from this airport to 44 airports in 5 states. The company filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy liquidation in 2008. The airport is currently served by several cargo and charter airlines who use the U.S. customs facility. Maintenance and modification of airliners up to Boeing 747 size are carried out by several aviation firms This file has the right coordenates, apron and characteristics of the airport, airport vehicles and buildings, Airport charts included.

Avro York (Base Package) Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Re-upload. Used variously as a long-range freighter and/or passenger airliner, the York was designed around the wings, engines, undercarriage, and tail assembly of the Lancaster bomber, adding a box-shaped fuselage and a center fin. Of a total of 253 production aircraft built, 208 initially went to the RAF, 25 to BOAC, 12 to BSAA, and 5 to FAMA (Flota Area Mercante Argentina). Specially fitted VIP versions were used by Winston Churchill and General de Gaulle. After completing 29,000 sorties in the Berlin Airlift of 1948-9, many RAF Yorks were sold to charter operators such as Aviation Traders, Dan Air, Hunting Clan, Lancashire Aircraft Corporation, and Skyways of London. Some of these re-acquired RAF roundels for "trooping flights" to the Middle East in the 1950s. From 1955 onward, the Yorks were gradually withdrawn, although some soldiered on until 1964. Two such veterans have been preserved as museum exhibits in Duxford and Cosford in the UK. Gmax exterior model and textures by Manfred Jahn, FDE by Paul Edwards, panel by Phil Perrott (Alphasim), Paul Edwards, and Lars Fors. A dedicated AI version has been released separately. The textures in this package represent MW207 of 246 Squadron RAF, BOAC G-AGNP ("Manchester"), and Skyways G-AHEY. The Flight dynamics are for a York fitted with Merlin-500 series engines.

B17 Flying Fortress Download

File Description:
The B17 is arguably the best known heavy bomber from WWII. Followed closely by it's direct successor the B29 SuperFortress it symbolizes the best of WWII's heavy Bombers. The B17 was one of the planes that barely made it into the war. In 1934 the then very small Boeing company had a prototype four engined bomber design called the B-299 but it had not been ordered by the US military. It had suffered several serious setbacks in it's design competition including a crash during a fly-off. Boeing continued work the plane and eventually secured a small service test order and the troubled early history of the bomber began. The B17 and bombers like it were planes created as "strategic bombers". The essential idea was that a strategic bomber should be able to carry a very large payload for long distances. The military had come to the realization that bombing technology was by nature imprecise even with new advances like the American Norden sight, and what was required was a large number of bombs delivered by large number of planes to assure that a target was destroyed. Although the Germans actually had a decent "smart bomb" and the British built specialty bombs, neither was reliable, so it seemed the best idea was just to blanket the target with bombs. An American extension to this concept was that of a self-defended bomber. Bombers could be built so tough and with so much defensive armament, it was thought, that they could simply fly to the target, drop bombs, and if necessary fight their way through fighters to get home. There would be security in the large number of bombers in formations, and the defensive capability would allow bombers to fly during the day for better accuracy in drops. It was to this design concept the B17 was built. Early experiences in the war with B17's and B-24's could only be termed as disastrous. Loss rates of up to 25% showed the concept of unescorted bombers in daytime to be entirely wrong. Escort fighters were a necessity for success. It soon became apparent that with fighter cover the B17 really was an unparalleled strategic bomber. Success for the B17 shot up dramatically, and it's initial design specifications of huge amounts of armor and gunner positions served it well when fighters did make it close in. The Fortress had enough strength to stave off attackers until escorts showed up, and it became legendary for the incredible punishment it could take and still make it home. Boeing B-17F Flying Fortress Wingspan: 103 ft. 9 in. Length: 74 ft. 9 in. Height: 19 ft. 1 in. Engine: 4 x Wright R-1820-97 Cyclone rated 1,200 hp. Loaded Weight: 65,500 lb. Maximum Speed: 287 mph. Service Ceiling: 37,500 ft. Combat Radius: 1,000 miles Armaments: 6,000 lbs. of bombs, 12 x .50 cal. machine guns
