| NY3C - Taylor Field - Hammondsport, New York (Fictional ICAO) |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
The airport named Taylor Field (on 1970's sectional charts) is a small 1800' strip not shown in the stock FSX list of airports. There is no ICAO code or other designator I could find with extensive research. I used my own code of NY3C.
This is a part reality part historic scenery as it represents the modern day airport, the Glenn Curtiss Museum, and adjacent to the Airport a facsimile of the original horse racetrack that was used by Glenn Curtiss to fly his June Bug on July 4th 1908. It is a close As I can determine to the original spot using archival photos and conversations with the Director of the Curtiss Museum, Traff Doherty. Extensive use of new land class is also employed to give a better representation of the geographic area.
This will work with FSX stock scenery, but is designed with UTX (Flight One Software) in mind. It will work with ORBX Global and Global Vector as well. With these latter two there may be some missing roads but it won't affect the scenery.

The former Schweizer Aircraft Co.is located below Harris Hill at KELM, was before its closing, the only family owned sailplane manufacturer and aerospace contractor in the U.S. They ceased making sailplanes in the 1980's and continued in the Aircraft manufacturing business until selling to Sikorsky in 2004.
This package includes Harris Hill field, The Harris hill Youth camp site, and Harris hill Park and Driving range. All buildings are represented as close as possible to the actual structures.

File Description: This is a revision of an airport originally included in my Oregon GA package.
This is a complete airport and can be installed alone, or you can add this
to the original and overwrite the older files. A member of the community
alerted me to elevation discrepancies; I had been using a 3rd party mesh when I
made this airport, which masked the discrepancy. This version will work
universally and also includes corrected approaches wherein I removed the default
ones and aligned these correctly to the current runway position; I added custom
runways lights to more accurately reflect reality and also made several relevant
detail changes.

File Description:
Back in Montana again! Today we get to visit Great Falls International. Not the heart of the Big Sky, but if
you like mountains (as I do) it is a great place to start your adventure. Helena is closeby. As is Idaho. I've tried
some new things that I hope you like. I'm a fan of night flying. I think you might like KGTF at night. As with
all my work the structures are original work. Some are accurate, some are workups based on what I think they might
look like.
