File Description:
RAF Chilbolton (ICAO X2CB) is a former Royal Air Force station in Hampshire, England. The airfield is located in Chilbolton approximately 4 miles (6.4 km) south-southeast of Andover; about 62 miles (100 km) southwest of London Opened in 1940, it was used by both the Royal Air Force and then later by the United States Army Air Forces. During the war it was used primarily as a troop carrier airfield for parachutists. After the war it was used for jet aircraft testing before being closed in 1946. Today the remains of the airfield are located on private property being used as agricultural fields.

RAF Wendling - Norfolk, England

File Description:
RAF Wendling is a former Royal Air Force station located 4 miles (6.4 km) north west of East Dereham, Norfolk, England. Opened in 1942, it was used by both the Royal Air Force (RAF) and United States Army Air Forces (USAAF). During the war it was used primarily as a bomber airfield, being the home of the United States Army Air Forces Eighth Air Force 392nd Bombardment Group. After the war, it was used by the RAF as a standby airfield before being finally closed in 1961 and returned to agriculture. With the end of military control the airfield has become a turkey farm.

RAF Fulbeck - Newark-on-Trent - Nottinghamshire, England

File Description:
RAF Fulbeck is a former Royal Air Force station located 6.3 miles (10.1 km) east of Newark-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire and 10.9 miles (17.5 km) west of Sleaford, Lincolnshire, England. The airfield is located about 106 miles (171 km) north-northwest of London and was opened in 1940 when it was used by both the Royal Air Force and United States Army Air Forces. During the war it was used primarily as troop carrier airfield for airborne units. It was closed in 1948 and was no longer used by the military and is now privately owned. RAF Bottlesford - Lincolnshire, England

File Description:
Royal Air Force Station Bottesford or more simply RAF Bottesford is a former Royal Air Force station located on the Leicestershire-Lincolnshire county border, 6.8 miles (10.9 km) north west of Grantham, Lincolnshire and 7.6 miles (12.2 km) south of Newark-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire and about 107 miles (172 km) north-northwest of London, England. Opened in 1942, it was used by both the Royal Air Force (RAF) and United States Army Air Forces (USAAF). During the war it was used primarily as a troop carrier airfield for paratroopers and as a bomber airfield before closing in 1948. Today the remains of the airfield are located on private property with the technical site being used as an industrial estate.

Third party add-on's will be required to see all the building included in the scenery, you will need Ted Andrews RAF Small Buildings and his hanger library, for the vehicles Ian Pearson FSX Object library will be required, the RAF Ensign hedges are the from Mike Hudson's scenery. All of which are available from Ian Pearsons' website; www.ianpsdarkcorner.co.uk.

RAF Skipton On Swale

File Description:
RAF Skipton On Swale is a former Royal Air Force station operated by RAF Bomber Command during the Second World War. The village of Sandhutton is located just to the east. RAF Skipton-on-Swale was a sub-station of RAF Leeming. The airfield opened in autumn 1942, becoming operational in May 1943, originally a 4 Group facility and first hosted 420 Squadron, Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF), which moved to RAF Middleton St. George in October 1942. Skipton was assigned to No. 6 Group, Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) in January 1943. RCAF squadrons stationed here included 424 Squadron, No. 432 Squadron (which moved to RAF East Moor in September 1943), and 433 Squadron. Both squadrons flew the Halifax bomber until replaced by the Lancaster in January 1945. 424 Squadron lost 52 aircraft and 433 Squadron lost 38 aircraft. When Nos. 424 and 433 Squadrons were disbanded in October 1945 the airfield was closed. The station was not used again and has since reverted largely to farmland. RAF Gaydon - Warwickshie, England

File Description:
RAF Gaydon (ICAO X3GY) is a former Royal Air Force station located 5.2 miles (8.4 km) east of Wellesbourne, Warwickshire and 10.8 miles (17.4 km) north west of Banbury, Oxfordshire, England.

RAF Gaydon opened in 1942 and is known for its role during the Cold War, when it was under the control of RAF Bomber Command as it was the first Royal Air Force (RAF) station to receive the Vickers Valiant when No. 138 Squadron RAF re-formed here in 1955.

In 1978, the site passed into civilian ownership and today contains the Heritage Motor Centre museum, the headquarters and factory of automobile manufacturer Aston Martin, and the Jaguar Land Rover Gaydon Centre. Source: Wikipedia.

RAF Waterbeach, Cambridgeshire 1943

File Description:
RAF Waterbeach (ICAO X3WH)is a former Royal Air Force station located in Waterbeach, Cambridgeshire which is 5.5 miles (8.9 km) north of Cambridge. The site was then used by the Royal Engineers, part of the British Army, from 1966, as Waterbeach Barracks until 2013 when the site closed to make way for housing. The site is currently unoccupied, apart from the officers' houses still in use - though Urban & Civic are now looking at temporary uses. The airfield was built in 1940 on the northern edge of Waterbeach village and operated under the control of RAF Bomber Command. X5OU - RAF Ouston - Northumberland, England

File Description:
Royal Air Force Ouston,is a former Royal Air Force station that was located near the village of Stamfordham and the village of Heddon-on-the-Wall on Hadrian's Wall near Newcastle upon Tyne. The station opened on the 10 March 1941 and closed for flying in September 1974. As with many airfields the Army moved in and the station was re-named Albemarle barracks.

RAF Ouston was built with many brick building as well as the usual wartime temporary building so many of the models here are right for the station. If you have Ian Pearsons vehicles and Ted Andrews scenery libraries your station will populated with many buildings.
