| RAF Tilstock "1944" - Shropshire, England |
|
File Description:
Construction of the airfield was completed by mid 1942, and it open on 1 August that year, with a classic three concrete runway RAF "star" arrangement. The name 'Whitchurch Heath' being used until 1 June 1943, when RAF Tilstock was adopted.
Between 1 September 1942 and 21 January 1946, the airfield was used by No. 81 Operational Training Unit and No. 1665 Heavy Conversion Unit Royal Air Force for the training of pilots and crews in the operation of Whitley, Stirling and Halifax heavy bombers. During the 1950s, Auster AOP.6 and Auster T.7 'spotter' aircraft of No. 663 (AOP) Squadron RAF used the facilities of the otherwise non-operational airfield during weekends for liaison flights with Royal Artillery units on training exercises.
The airfield is still being used today at weekends for skydiving and has the ICAO code EGCT.

| San Diego Extras |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
Many extras around the San Diego area including carriers, cargo ships, criuse liners, destroyers, power and sail boats, various cranes, shoreline buildings and a strange but unique helipad built on huge rocks on the shoreline to the north on the coast. I thought there were too many open spots around the area so I filled most of them. Designed with a clean install of FSX so if you have addons such as Ultimate terrain, objects may appear where they were not intended to be. designed to enhance your FS world.
I'm keeping track of the number of downloads as to these "clean install" sceneries which will help me decide later in purchasing some addons to make my sceneries viewable to a larger number of users. An email would be appreciated regarding the success of you seeing the scenery properly.
Hope you do see the objects and thanks............enjoy!........savageale

| RNAS Inskip |
|
File Description:
RNAS Inskip is located a few miles north of a place called Kirkham near Blackpool which is in the county of Lancashire (U.K.). During WWII the Lancashire plain was used extensively for airfields. Most famously, USAAF's BAD2, which General Doolittle labelled
'the world's greatest air depot' was located at Warton, only a few miles south of Inskip. What with RNAS Burscough and RAF Woodvale close by the other side of the river, the skies above the Ribble must have been a dense mass of most of the u.k./u.s.a. aircraft types ever flown during WW2.
Otherwise known as HMS Nightjar (X4IP), it was only open as an active airfield for a few years 1943 - 1946. It was used by the Fleet Air Arm
mainly for Radar Training and bombing practice, but many operational units would disembark from their carriers for upgrades or maintenance during carrier refits. Flying out of Inskip were many FAA types - Fireflies, Swordfish, Ansons, Barracudas, Fulmars, Tarpons (Avengers)
and Martlets (Wildcats).

YDWU Dalwallinu - Nugadong Airport. This represents the newly updated airfield.
"10-03-2011 - March update for Nugadong Airport RedevelopmentWe are pleased to announce that the project to redevelop the Nugadong Airport is progressing well. Originally there were three areas that required upgrade; Airstrip Reseal, Installation of Animal Proof Fencing, and the construction of a Patient Transfer Facility. However, after successful negotiations with funding bodies we were abile to restructure the project to include the installation of a Taxiway & Apron. We are also pleased to announce that the project is on track to achieve it's May deadline. This is an exciting upgrade to existing community infrastructure and please feel free to visit the facility to have a look at the changes for yourself. Further updates on this, and other projects, will be released in the coming weeks and on completion." www.dalwallinu.wa.gov.au/news/PROJECT%20UPDATE.
