B-24 USAAF 376th BG "Lady be Good"

File Description:
Following an April 4, 1943 bombing raid on Naples, Italy, conducted by the 376th Bomb Group, the Lady Be Good of the 514th Bomb Squadron failed to return to base. After attempts to locate the plane, its nine crewmen were classified as MIA, and presumed dead, believed to have perished after crashing in the Mediterranean. Almost 16 years later on Nov. 9, 1958, several British geologists were flying over the desolate, sun-baked Libyan Desert. At approximately 400 miles south of Soluch, they spotted an aircraft on the sand. A ground party that reached the site in March 1959 discovered the plane to be a B-24D. The "Lady Be Good" had been found. Evidence at the site indicated that the crew had become lost in the dark on return from Naples and had flown over their base and southward into the desert. As their fuel supply became depleted, the nine men aboard had bailed out but had disappeared while attempting to walk northward to civilization. Intensive searches were made for clues as to the fate of the crew, and in 1960 the remains of eight were found, one near the plane and the other seven far to the north. Five had trekked 78 miles across the tortuous sand before perishing and one had gone an amazing 109 miles. In addition, they had lived eight days rather than only two expected of men in this area with little or no water. The body of the ninth man was never found. This is another repaint for the FSX AI Default MD-83. This is an Aeromexico repaint registration no. XA-TLH. This Aeromexico repaint has a new livery, with the Aeromexico website and a Mexican Flag. This repaint is realistic except with a few orange color for the tail. This is one another of the downloader's request. This repaint requires the flyable base pack of the FSX Default MD-83 by Braden Peters.

B-24 USAAF 449th BG "Big Noise from Kentucky"

File Description:
B-24H 42-52149 "Big Noise from Kentucky" flew 25 missions with the 718th BS/ 449th BG, based in Grottaglie, Italy, 1944. She was credited with four downed fighters during a raid on Udine 0n 30 jan 1944. She was shot down by flak over Bor, Yugoslavia on 5 may 1944, returning from Ploesti. The crew managed to return to base, except for the co-pilot, who broke his ankle on landing, and was captured. The aircraft was named by the 1st pilot, Lt. USAAF B-24M "Net Results" 380th Bomb Group, 5th AAF

File Description:
"Net Results" 44-4875 was a B-24M-5-CO which came off the production lines of Consolidated, San Diego in October, 1944. After going through modification centers in Tucson, AZ, it was flown to Nadzab, New Guinea. From there it was assigned to the 528th Bomb Squadron, 380th Bomb Group, 5th AAF on Mindoro in the Philippines. M/Sgt Perry Blanchard was its crew chief, maintaining the aircraft through 59 missions and to war's end. The ship was a "Raven" H2X radar ship. Textures only. Requires the PAYWARE Alpha Sim aircraft.
