File Description:
This pack contains two repaints for the Shockwave World War II Fighters P-51D Mustang, one depicting L2-V "pin up girl' as flown by Lt. John C. Donnell Jr and , 434th Fighter Squadron, 479th Fighter Group, and the other depicting N514DK, which is owned by DK Warbirds Inc of Las Vegas. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on blanks by Milan Žejdlík.

File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the Shockwave World War II Fighters P-51D Mustang for 44-13431 QV-E "Little Eva III" as flown by Capt."Sully" Varnell of the 2nd FS/ 52nd FG from Madna, Italy in August 1944. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by John Terrell. It should work in both FS9 and FSX.

P-40 Tomahawk IIB AM392 LD-W "Nux Vomica"

File Description:
Tomahawk MkIIB AM392 of 250 Squadron, flown by Australian pilot Sgt Bob Whittle, Egypt August-October 1941. "Nux Vomica" (deadly poison) was the name given to this aircraft by Sgt Whittle, who used it to shoot down a Me109. The aircraft was later used by the SAAF until it was struck off charge on 1 july 1943. Repaint for the A2A P40 Tomahawk by Jan Kees Blom, using the paintkit by Martin Catney.

P-51D 52nd FG QP-U "Hey Rube! IV"

File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the A2A/Shockwave World War II Fighters P-51D Mustang, representing 44-14227 "Hey Rube! IV", which flew with the 2nd FS/ 52nd FG from Madna, Italy in july 1944, with Captain Daniel Zoerb as its assigned pilot. Zoerb played in a carnival band before the war, and the expression "Hey Rube!" was used to indicate that trouble was about to break out. This aircraft ended up in Rumania. During an escort mission on 8 september 1944, to pick up some American POW's with a B17, Capt Zoerb lost power over Bucharest airfield and made a very hard landing, buckling the wings. He stayed overnight with the Rumanian pilots and was treated to a real feast: Sheep's head soup! The next day, he flew back in a B17. He finished his combat tour a major with seven kills and as CO of the squadron. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the repaint kit by John Terrell. It should work in both FSX and FS9.

P-47D 324th FG/ 316th FS #86 "Black Sheep"

File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the Shockwave World War II Fighters P-47D Thunderbolt, representing the aircraft flown by Lt Jerry Wurmser of the 316thnd FS/324th FG, in France and Germany, between 6 march 1945 and the end of the war. He is still alive, and told me: "The name "Black Sheep" was already painted on the plane when it was assigned to me. It previously had been assigned to someone in Britain, and eventually ended up in France after either being shot down or having crashed and then repaired. It had a brand new engine in it when I received it on March 6, 1945. At this time I had already completed 39 missions, and finally was assigned my own airplane. My first flight in it was to break in the new engine, or "slow time" it. This required flying it about for a period of time at very low throttle settings, to break in the new engine. The plane had already seen a lot of action, and the "form 1" contained a long list of malfunctions that was written up by the previous flyers and dates of repairs. Several times I had to sign the "exceptional release" form before going up, acknowledging that I knew and understood what the previous pilot stated what was wrong with it. This plane was a razorback, with the tail assembly out of line, so that I had to apply rudder correction constantly. It got such bad gas mileage that I carried one less bomb and a gas tank instead. I hated that plane. I finally did get a new bubble canopy plane, but by this time the War was over!" Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on two repaint kits, one by John Terrell and one by Shockwave. Included is a 1024 x 1024 bmp repaint, which should work in both FS9 and FSX.

Republic P-47D-20 365th FG (B4-X) "Special Delivery"

File Description: This folder contains a repaint for the A2A Wings of Power III P-47D Thunderbolt, representing P-47D-15-RE 42-76181 B4-X "Special Delivery", the aircraft of Lt. Samuel "Sack"Saunders of the 388th FS/ 365th FG. Lt. Saunders came from Wellington, Kansas, and was one of everybody's favorite pilots, always smiling, very sharp and a leader when flying. He shared one victory over an Me 109 with Andy Smoak when the squadron was jumped by Germans on August 19, 1944, and had a solo victory over an FW190 during the turkey shoot on October 21. He chased the 190 over 50 miles before hitting it in the nose, causing the ammunition to explode and the pilot to bail out. "Special Delivery" was destroyed on the ground during operation Bodenplatte, the luftwaffe attack on January 1, 1945. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by Martin Catney.

North American AT-6C/AT-6G "Double Vee"

File Description:
This is a repaint only for Alphasim's Texan/Harvard. This aircraft, "Double Vee," is the only authentic, fully restored aircraft in existence that was once used by the Tuskegee Airmen. During WWII its roll was to train the Tuskegee Airmen in the methods of aerial combat maneuvering and gunnery, this coming before graduated kadets would transfer to the P-47 and P-51 as members of the 332nd FG. The aircraft, now owned by Steve Cowell, has been fully restored and painted in its original markings it wore while in service as an advanced fighter pilot trainer at Tuskegee, Alabama. The name "Double Vee" comes from the historic campaign waged during World War Two for African-Americans. It stood for a double, uncompromised victory - a victory abroad against the Axis powers and a victory at home against prejudice. Repaint is based on Alphasim's paintkit.
