B-24 USAAF 449th BG "Big Noise from Kentucky"

File Description:
B-24H 42-52149 "Big Noise from Kentucky" flew 25 missions with the 718th BS/ 449th BG, based in Grottaglie, Italy, 1944. She was credited with four downed fighters during a raid on Udine 0n 30 jan 1944. She was shot down by flak over Bor, Yugoslavia on 5 may 1944, returning from Ploesti. The crew managed to return to base, except for the co-pilot, who broke his ankle on landing, and was captured. The aircraft was named by the 1st pilot, Lt. USAAF B-24M "Net Results" 380th Bomb Group, 5th AAF

File Description:
"Net Results" 44-4875 was a B-24M-5-CO which came off the production lines of Consolidated, San Diego in October, 1944. After going through modification centers in Tucson, AZ, it was flown to Nadzab, New Guinea. From there it was assigned to the 528th Bomb Squadron, 380th Bomb Group, 5th AAF on Mindoro in the Philippines. M/Sgt Perry Blanchard was its crew chief, maintaining the aircraft through 59 missions and to war's end. The ship was a "Raven" H2X radar ship. Textures only. Requires the PAYWARE Alpha Sim aircraft.

This has been upgraded to FSX by request. After a little scouting around, I have found an AFCAD conversion tool, and so will be releasing all my FS2004 AFCAD's with an UNSUPPORTED FSX version. It will remain unsupported because I have not actually got FSX, so I can do little to help. However, I will still do my best to help anyone who is truly stuck. USAAF B-24D "Kate Smith" 98th Bomb Group, 9th AAF

File Description:
"Kate Smith" 42-40991 was a B-24D-120-CO which came off the production lines of Consolidated, San Diego. The art work depicts American Singer Kate Smith's theme song, "When the Moon Comes Over the Mountain". This ship was flown by the 1Lt James A Deeds to Ploesti on August 1, 1943. While taking part in the disasterous 98th BG attack on the Astra Romana-Phoenix Orion refinery complex, it took a direct hit in the cockpit area over the target at an estimated 250 ft of altitude. The aircraft caught fire in the bomb bay area and exploded mid-air. Miraculously, the copilot, 2Lt Clifton Foster was blown clear of the disintergrating aircraft and was able to open his parachute. Taken prisoner, he was the only survivor of the ten man crew.
