Since the outdated CLS DC-10 is still the only one of its kind available, I decided to upgrade the sound of the FSX version to a more recent level. Added sound cones to engine sounds, Added blast sound at the rear and altered the wind sound. You MUST have the payware CLS DC-10 in order to use this, as it works from the default sound pack.

SkyHigh Audio Simulations is proud to present what is quite possibly the most realistic sounding Pratt & Whitney R-2800 Radial Engine sound pack available! This sound pack is designed to work with ANY model in FSX, but moreso intended for Calclassic's R-2800 powered planes like the DC-6, Convairliners, Curtiss C-46, and also meant for the Canadair CL-215 water bomber. This sound pack includes many unique and realistic features, including realistic 3D sound cones giving a very realistic exterior sound experience, especially in the fly-by view mode. Realistic start up sounds and vintage propliner environment sounds are included. Realistic interior ambience noises such as the touchdown, hydraulic flaps, gear sound, and more are featured in this sound pack. | DC-3/C-47 Pratt & Whitney R-1830 Sound Set |

File Description:
This is a scratch built full 3D sound set for Manfred Jahn & Team's wonderful C-47 Skytrain package. While flying the C-47 in the sim I felt there was some room left to improve the engine sounds. And what started as messing around with parameters ended up in me composing an entirely new sound set starring the Pratt & Whitney R-1830.
The sound set attempts to push the boundaries of what is possible in FSX/P3D. If you fly the C-47 in a realistic manner, this sound set will provide a realistic sound environment. No less than 17 samples are used per engine in order to recreate the external sound environment (everything 44,1KHz high quality audio) while making extensive use of sound cones to cover all the angles. In fact this sound set uses source material from 4 real life C-47As.
All of the aforementioned results in a "study level" sound set that hopes to do justice to the real thing.

This add-on features configurations for both CFM56-5A and CFM56-5B sounds, along with three interior POV options such as cockpit, front cabin, and rear cabin. The read me provided in the zip file will direct you to what version to use for which airplane. FSX's sound cone technology has been extensively used to provide as much of a realistic sound experience as possible in the exterior view. The A320 aircraft family's famous Pneumatic Transfer Unit 'barking' noise has been implemented in the start up sound, gear up sound, and engine shut down sound. Along with these features, SkyHigh Audio Simulations' usual touches have been added such as using audio recordings only from A320 CFM aircraft as source files to provide a fully authentic sound experience for the simmer.
