Welcome to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon!
This scenery is a mostly fictitious representation of what the North Rim might look like of it had been developed like the South rim. A new airport (KKPA, Kaibab Plateau Airport) is the centerpiece. It sits at 8,730 ft MSL so density altitude is a real issue. Runway 17/35 is 6,500ft long so biz jets can get in and out safely. A new resort sits atop the ridge to the east [Eagle's Nest]. There is a helipad for access. An NDB makes finding it easier [AZ95 220.9 kHz]. Or you can just follow the traffic on the access road that branches off from highway 67 just south of the airport. To the north I have added a gravel strip to Jacob Lake where 67 joins 89A. Runway 14/32 is 3000 ft long and sits at 7900 ft MSL. An NDB [AZ93 393 kHz] is included. At the south end of Highway 67 sits the North Rim Visitor Center. There is a helipad on the roof for those who like rotary wing challenges. The NDB is AZ94 at 423.4 kHz. The entire length of Highway 67 is represented with traffic going both ways. You will see
air traffic from KGCN at the South Rim and traffic between KKPA and Jacob Lake.

The city of Avalon on Catalina Island with many custom built objects including the Turret House, Wrigley Memorial, Pier, working Bell Tower (sounds), and several businesses and hotels. This scenery was designed around the freeware Catalina Island by Aerosoft and is required for this scenery to display correctly. FS2002 version of this scenery has over 5500 downloads. Tested on FSX Gold Edition (FSX Deluxe and Acceleration Expansion Pack), FSGenesis 9.6 terrain mesh, and Win7 operating system. Requires RWEOBJv5.zip & RWEOBJc5.zip (or later) Object Libraries. | New airport AFCAD for 7AK ICAO: PAUT Akutan, Alaska, USA for FSX and Prepar3D |

File Description:
The airport was opened in 2012. Akutan was previously served by amphibious airplane service to Akutan Seaplane Base, located on Akutan Island, however, in 2012 operator PenAir announced that they would retire their Grumman Goose aircraft and as a result the traditional airport on Akun Island was built to serve Akutan. The new airport is connected to Akutan by a hovercraft.
Changes were made based on 2012 construction plans. Custom models have been added.
This is a reworked version originally from Wayne Roberts.
The Airport has been reoriented according the Satellite-Image.

| SS ADVENTURE - A 1930s Tramp Steamer - Pilotable |

The Adventure is an example of the kind of tramp steamer that played such a big part in the literature of the 1930s, from "King Kong" to "Terry and the Pirates". By an "amazing" coincidence, the Adventure is the sister ship to the Venture - the ship that sailed to Skull Island in King Kong. You can use the Adventure to conduct your own expedition to Skull Island. Or if you prefer the pirate life, you can selct "pirate mode" and join the Dragon Lady in the South China Seas.
