De Havilland DH-98 Mosquito (DZ546) 618 Sqn G Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the DeHavilland DH98 Mosquito by Dave Garwood, in the colors of DZ546, a B Mk.IV that flew with No.618 Squadron in the summer of 1945. It was built in early 1943 and allocated to 618 Squadron. It was converted for 'Highball' missions in 1944. Highball was the codename of special spherical bouncing bombs to be used for antishipping attacks. The conversion included Merlin 24 motors, a four bladed prop, an arrester hook, new windscreen and armour plating. With the collapse of the German threat, 618 was transferred to Australia in october 1944, but no suitable role was found for the squadron, which was disbanded at RAAF Narromine in july 1945. The Mosquitos were later sold and DZ546 was bought by Ken & Rob Bowman of Dunedoo, who dismantled it with the help of a chainsaw. Parts of the aircraft are currently being used in the restoration of a Mosquito in New Zealand. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by Dave Garwood.

De Havilland DH-98 Mosquito (W4072) 105 Sqn GB-D Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the DeHavilland DH98 Mosquito by Dave Garwood, in the colors of W4072 GB-D, a B Mk.IV of 105 squadron. On 25 june 1942, while being loaned to 139 squadron, it was being flown by Flt Lt Bagguley on a night attack on Stade aerodrome near Hamburg. He attacked the town of Dorum, near Bremerhaven. On leaving the target, instead of closing the bombdoors, he accidenatly lowered the flaps. These were torn away due to the speed of over 380 mph, and on arrival back at Horsham St Faith, W4072 overshot the runway, with the right undercarriage collapsing in a ditch. W4072 was delivered to 105 sqn on 27 februari 1942, and took part in the first bomb raid carried out by Mosquito's, when sqn ldr Oekeshott took it to Cologne on 31 May 1942. After the prang in june, W4072 was repaired and flew more missions with 105 sqn. Damaged again in March 1943, she passed to 627 sqn (AZ-Q), but crashed in the North Sea returning from a raid on Frankfurt on 8 january 1944. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by Dave Garwood.

De Havilland DH89A Dragon Rapide - G-AHAG - Four Repaints Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
These four repaints are of G-AHAG from various times in her career. This is from the freeware Dave Garwood model of the DH89, an aircraft that I thoroughly recommend you to download if you have not. G-AHAG was built in 1945 as one of 335 Dominies built by Loughborough based Brush Coachbuilders. She was owned by Blackburn aircraft of Brough. I have included one of its liveries from this spell in this package. She then did a spell at the original Scillonia airways, being painted in the livery promoting Scenic Flights, another one that I have included in this package. After Scillonia Airways ceased operations in 1969, she was sold and subsequently leased to The Army Parachuting Association. Here, she was painted in the orange livery included. However, there only appears to be one photo online of her in this livery, from 1975, after being unofficially written off, following an incident involving someone ending up in the radio bay after jumping from a Britten-Norman Islander above. I have used this photo as a basis for the livery, so it may be incorrect. After a very lengthy rebuild of 30 years at Membury Airfield in Berkshire, she was repainted in a scheme based on the original Scillonia Airways livery. This is the fourth repaint included in this pack. Repaint by Adam Loader Model by Dave Garwood (Available for free download from Classic British Flight Sim and Avsim)
