Aeritalia G91Y 8 Stormo Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
The Fiat G91Y was a reconnaissance and ground-attack aircraft produced by Italian company FIAT as an evolution of Fiat G91. The first flight took place in 1966. It was a complete redesign, but the major difference was that G91Y installed 2 engines, in order to increase the power and the capability to survive to damages during war operations. The single Bristol Orpheus turbojet engine of G91 was then replaced by two afterburning General Electric J85 turbojets which increased thrust by 60% over the single-engined variant.
Structural modifications to reduce airframe weight increased performance further and an additional fuel tank occupying the space of the G.91T's rear seat provided extra range. Combat manoeuvrability was improved with the addition of automatic leading edge slats.
Flight testing of three pre-production aircraft was successful, with one aircraft reaching a maximum speed of Mach 0.98. Airframe buffeting was noted and was rectified in production aircraft by raising the position of the tailplane slightly. An initial order of 55 aircraft for the Italian Air Force was completed by Fiat in March 1971. The order was increased to 75 aircraft with 67 eventually being delivered. The first pre-series 'Yankee' (the nickname of the new aircraft) flew in July 1968.

AMI (Italian Air Force) placed orders for two batches, 35 fighters followed by another 20, later cut to ten. The last one was delivered around mid 1976, so the total was two prototypes, 20 pre-series and 45 series aircraft. No export success followed. These aircraft served with 101° Gruppo/8° Stormo (Cervia-S.Giorgio) from 1970, and later, from 1974, they served with the 13° Gruppo/32° Stormo (Brindisi) until the early '90s, as the only ones equipped with the 'Yankee', using them as attack/recce machines, both over ground and sea, until the AMX replaced them. Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos (DNMM) Version 2 Download

File Description:
Hi again fellow simmers.... This is an major update to my previous AFCAD on this famous West African airport. Here are all its features: - ILS offset fixed as well as some smaller details, like the fact that rwys 1L/1R are permanently closed to take-off and landings. - Corrected runway lightings/markings. - DME on Rwy 19R now working. - Right Hand Pattern Approach/Take-off only. - Added correct amount of gates at the International Terminal with parking codes for airlines that actually fly to DNMM (British Airways, Air France, KLM, Alitalia, Virgin Atlantic, Virgin Nigeria, Sabena, Swiss, Afriqiya, Emirates, Qatar Airways, South African Airways and more). - Domestic Terminal fully laid out and functional with domestic airline parkinting codes (Albarka, Chanchangi, ADC, Belleview, Kabo Air, etc). - Cargo parking fully functional. - Military parking (C130, MiG-21, MiG-29, Alpha Jet, Jaguar, Tornado). To Install: 1. DELETE THE PREVIOUS 'AF2_DNMM.BGL' file from the 'Flight Simulator X/Addon Scenery/scenery' folder. 2. Extract all files from the downloaded '.zip' file. 3. Now COPY the NEW 'AF2_DNMM.BGL' file and place it into 'Flight Simulator X/Addon Scenery/scenery' folder. 4. Start up the Flight sim and the changes will be present. READ THIS !!! I've tried to the best of my ability to produce and much detail as possible but i'm sure something has been left out (there always is). I've used the latest Jeppesen charts and other materials at my disposal and even my own eyesight at great risk to myself (yep, even pilots are restricted from certain places at airports) Also, lots of airports have changed drasticly on the past couple years like Abuja airport (DNAA) and I would love to do justice to it as its fast becoming a major hub in the region. I would be willing to join forces to with anyone that is good with AFCAD on this project. Enjoy! [email protected] 13:44 30/07/2007

George Bush N2S-1 Stearman (N50061) Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This is a repaint only, for the payware Vertigo Studios Stearman Vol.1 set. This repaint depicts the restored Stearman N2S-1, N50061, owned/operated by Paul Ehlen and based at the Wings of the North Museum at Flying Cloud Airport, Eden Prairie, Minnesota. The aircraft, originally manufactured as U.S. Navy BuNo. 3347, is one of five Stearmans known to still exist that were flown by President George H. W. Bush as a cadet in the Navy. He flew this aircraft while training in the cold Minnesota winter at Wold-Chamberlain Airfield, Naval Air Station Minneapolis (modern-day KMSP), in January and early February 1943. The aircraft was sent to AirCorps Aviation for ground-up restoration in 2014, and emerged in 2015 as one of, if not the most period-authentic restored Stearmans to-date, restored to just as it was in 1943 (no electric starter (only hand-crank start) and no radios of any sort). The aircraft won "Best Stearman" at Oshkosh 2015.

RAF Bradwell Bay Download

File Description:
RAF Bradwell Bay is a former Royal Air Force station located 9.5 miles (15.3 km) east of Maldon, Essex, England and 3.1 miles (5.0 km) south west of West Mersea, Essex. The airfield was first used as grass landing strip for the nearby firing ranges before being turned into a RAF station with concrete runways and hangars. The station is unique as it was the only fighter station where the Fog Investigation and Dispersal Operation (FIDO) was used. Part of the site is currently being used by the Bradwell nuclear power station. Several of the hangars are still used as storage by the local farmers and the control tower is now a private house. Agricultural buildings, built in the '70s and '80s on runways one and two, are now home to several local businesses. RAF Fiskerton Download

File Description:
RAF Fiskerton was a Royal Air Force station located north of the Lincolnshire village of Fiskerton, 5.0 miles east of Lincoln, Lincolnshire, England

It was one of many new bomber airfields built in the early part of World War II. The airfield was situated north of the village from where it got its name. It was one of only 15 RAF airfield equipped with FIDO, a fog-clearing system utilizing petrol pumped through pipes alongside the main runway and burned via a sequence of nozzles.

No. 49 Squadron and No. 576 Squadron RAF were stationed at RAF Fiskerton. 49 squadron took part in the Peenemande raid on the research and development centre for the V2 missile. 576 Squadron took part in the raid on Hitler's hideout at Berchtesgaden and in Operation Manna.

The station lay on agricultural farmland immediately south of the village of Ludford, Lincolnshire and was sited 21.4miles (34.4 km) north east of the county town of Lincoln, Lincolnshire, England. The remains of the station can be seen from the B1225 Caistor High Street, and the long distance footpath the Viking Way passes right next to the eastern perimeter track.

It was the highest bomber airfield in England at 428 feet (130 m) above sea level, and cost £803,000 to build.

All credit must go to the following authors without whose work I could not have made this scenery; all credit for the models contained in it is theirs I merely placed it. Seiser Alm STOL and Gliding Area Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
Seiser Alm, is the largest high altitude Alpine meadow in Europe. Located in Italy's South Tyrol province in the Dolomites mountain range, it is a major tourist attraction, known for skiing and hiking. This is a simple fun creation of a real world R/C sailplane and Para gliding site in the Italian Dolomites. There is no airport, no flatten so you must exercise caution when landing a STOL aircraft or sailplane. I have landed many types here including sailplanes and the FSDS Porter as well as a Cessna 185. The nearest real world airport is LIPD Bolzano. There are two landing areas represented one high is the actual site where R/C sailplanes with wingspans of up to 10 meters are launched into the air, as well as paragliders. .The lower field is a bonus area with a nice flat area for easier landings and take offs. It is the real world site of a famous ski lodge and resort.(look for the Chalet!)

YCRW Crawley Bay, Western Australia, US Catalina Base - QANTAS base (Historic 1942) Download

File Description:
YCRW Crawley Bay USAF Catalina Base - QANTAS base (Historic 1942). This location was where the famous double sunrise flights left for Lake Koggala in Sri Lanka (Ceylon) between 1943 and 1946. Suited to Rick Stone's PBY5A Catalina. The USAF used the north side of the point and QANTAS used what is now the boat ramp at Nedlands. Remember, Perth was only about two or three stories high in those days so for a realistic enactment, totally overload the aircraft (towards the front) and just point between the buildings until you gain some height. To cover the distance, cruise at about 110kts and 500 feet. Don't forget the passengers stand at the front on takeoff and can be seated after you are in the air. RAF Moreton In The Marsh - Gloucestershire, England Download

File Description:
RAF Moreton-in-Marsh was a Royal Air Force station near Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire. It was opened in November 1940 and closed for operational flying in early 1948. The base remained in use as a relief runway and for training. After a period of care and maintenance, the Station was handed over to the Home Office in 1955. The town's environs are quite flat and low-lying although it is situated at the northern extremity of the Cotswold Hills range. During World War II, a large area of this flat land to the east of the town was developed as an airfield and became the base of 21 OTU (Operational Training Unit) RAF, flying mainly Vickers Wellington bombers. It is highly likely that the airfield inspired the title of the radio show Much Binding in the Marsh. After all, two of its stars, Kenneth Horne and Richard Murdoch, served there as flying instructors.

Transavia Douglas DC-6 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
In November 1966 the Dutch charter operator Transavia Holland started its activities with 2 Douglas DC-6 and 1 Douglas DC-6B aircraft. Despite stiff competition from KLM and Martinair Holland, Transavia was able to conquer a considerable part of the charter and inclusive tours market and expanded its fleet with a several more DC-6B's. In 1968 Transavia became involved in the relief airlift from Sao Tome to Biafra using its fleet of DC-6's. The next year the DC-6's were sold to Flughjalp who continued flying the Biafra missions till January 1970. Featured here are DC-6 PH-TRA (1966 livery) and DC-6 PH-TRB (1968 livery). Today Transavia is a major Dutch low cost and charter airline (owned by Air France-KLM) operating Boeing 737-700 and 737-800 aircraft. These are textures only. You will require Jens B. Kristensen's FSX Douglas DC-6 (dc6_v20x.zip). Original textures by Jens B. Kristensen. Repaints by Maarten Brouwer.
