File Description:
This Photo Real scenery is a complete rebuild for the FSX Default KDAL airport using the latest version of ADE, SBuilderX scenery design tool, & Google SketchUp. This scenery includes the new Main Terminal, new parking garage, hanger buildings, FBO's, realistic Google Earth buildings, and Photo Real ground textures that give the airport a more realistic feeling. I constructed this scenery using imported Google Earth textures via Google SketchUp. The runways and airport aprons are aligned to match Google & Yahoo satellite imagery.

This file includes 4 new ships to supplement the ships available in my package "63 AI Ships and AI Ship Traffic for Europe and South America".
It also includes traffic files for the West Coast of the United States mainly from San Francisco and Oakland to the Strait of Juan de Luca, Tacoma, Seattle, and the Canadian cities of Victoria and Vancouver. A few routes go further South to Long Beach and San Diego. The traffic files utilize the new ships available in this update as well as the ships available in "63 AI Ships and AI Ship Traffic for Europe and South America" which must therefore be installed prior to this update.
The new ships are two small bulk carriers "Sardius" and "Andre W" and two large geared bulk carriers "Senorita" and "Carmencita" all done in GMAX. All ships have navigation lights, simple animations like rotating radars, and custom wake and smoke effects.

| USAAF B-24D "Kate Smith" 98th Bomb Group, 9th AAF |

File Description:
"Kate Smith" 42-40991 was a B-24D-120-CO which came off the production lines of Consolidated, San Diego. The art work depicts American Singer Kate Smith's theme song, "When the Moon Comes Over the Mountain". This ship was flown by the 1Lt James A Deeds to Ploesti on August 1, 1943. While taking part in the disasterous 98th BG attack on the Astra Romana-Phoenix Orion refinery complex, it took a direct hit in the cockpit area over the target at an estimated 250 ft of altitude. The aircraft caught fire in the bomb bay area and exploded mid-air. Miraculously, the copilot, 2Lt Clifton Foster was blown clear of the disintergrating aircraft and was able to open his parachute. Taken prisoner, he was the only survivor of the ten man crew.

Norfolk VA Intl. Airport for FSX. Several improvements have been made to the default airport, including replacing the default terminal with new buildings modelled in FSDS, including gate numbers displayed on the buildings, correctly numbering and coding gates using Airport Design Editor 1.66.5555, a separate air cargo area with new custom buildings modelled in FSDS, drawing new vehicle paths so as to prevent airport vehicles from accessing the taxiways, adding ample GA parking, changing the tower view to the roof of the control tower, and including the option of having both runways open to AI traffic. Also included are Jim Dhaenen's excellent ramp lights and a set of GA flight plans to liven up the GA area. Please read the README FIRST.txt and installation.txt files to insure proper installation of all files.

Several improvements have been made to the default airport, including replacing the default terminal with new buildings modelled in FSDS, correctly numbering and coding gates using Airport Design Editor 1.67.5684, creating a new vehicle network, adding ample GA parking, changing the tower view to the roof of the control tower, including the FedEx cargo area with static FedEx trucks, trailers, and warehouse. Also included are Jim Dhaenen's excellent ramp lights and a set of GA flight plans made using AI flight Planner using all FSX default aircraft to liven up the GA area, and the option to include moving road traffic on the approach to Runway 4. By request, here is an improved version of the stock Skgit Regional Airport. I added missing aprons and taxiways,
additional hangars, removed many default buildings and replaced them with more appropriate buildings. Added static
vehicles and airplanes, a flag, lightpoles and trees.
This is a very scenic area to fly and just a short hop to Friday Harbor.
