File Description:
This folder contains a repaint for the A2A WoP2 B-17G in the colors of B-17G-10-DL 42-37761 OR-L "Blue Dreams" of the 323rd BS/ 91st BG, based in Bassingbourne, UK. "Blue Dreams" was assigned to Captain Ken McFarland and his crew, and was painted by Corporal Tony Starcer, with the december pin-up by Alberto varga. When the crew found out that their captain's wife was pregnant, they had Starcer paint a stork and baby below the pilots window (without McFarlane knowing), adding the name 'Mona Gail'after the birth of his daughter. The aircraft would go on to complete 29 missions with the group, before being written off due to an unfortunate oversight by another crew. Shortly after taking off for a flight to Berlin, on the 6th of March 1944, the pilot, Lt Walter Wilkinson, noticed fuel streaming from the starboard wing. He decided to land immediately, in the hope of quickly solving the problem and rejoining the mission. The nearest airfield was the 355th FG's base at Steeple Morden, close to Bassingbourne, and he decided to land there. He lined up with the runway and slowly descended the heavily laden bomber, going for a smooth as possible landing. What came was different, since the crew had forgotten to lower the landing gear, and "Blue Dreams" screeched of the runway and into the grass. The crew evacuated the wrecked aircraft as quickly as they could, but fortunately, the bombs in the bomb-bay did not explode. "Blue Dreams" would not fly again, and was salvaged the following day. The subsequent accident report revealed that the pilot had flown 8 exhaustive missions in the previous two weeks. This time nobody was hurt, but it would be a different story 10 months later, when another 91st B-17 forcelanded at Steeple Morden...
Repaint by Jan Kees Blom, based on the A2A paintkit.

| NAS North Island Mast |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
On 13, October 1923, a special USN board directed that semiportable mooring masts (160-foot poles of steel tubing 16 inches in diameter and braced by three sets of guy wires) were to be erected at Forth Worth, San Diego and Camp Lewis (Washington State). In August of 1924, it was decided that the USS Shenandoah (ZRS-1) would make a set of flights's from her base at NAS Lakehurst to the West Coast and back, using the mooring masts at Fort Worth, San Diego and Seattle (Camp Lewis). In accordince with this plan, the USS Shenandoah arrived at the Naval Air Station North Island at 2300 on 10 October 1924, and landed on the ground. She was then secured to the mooring mast the following morning, during daylight. She remained moored to the mast for the next five days, while some damage that was done during the landing the previous evening, was repaired.

| AI Deleter |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
This FSX add-on deletes 'sleeping' AI aircraft around the user if they are not leaving in any reasonable time.
The purpose is to make space for landing aircraft instead of having unrealistically full airports with planes that won't move for another day or so.
So every X (180) seconds it scans the given radius (20000 meters) around the user plane for any AI planes in state sleep and whose planned departure is away more than Y (900000) seconds.
All these aircraft will be deleted, as they would never move unless you let FSX run for more than 25 hours in this spot.
The parameters, like how far the departure is allowed to be away, can be adjusted from within the game and will be remembered for future use.

File Description:
Kwigillingok Airport (IATA: KWK, ICAO: PAGG, FAA LID: GGV, formerly A85) is owned by the Native Village of Kwigillingok and is a public-use airport located one mile (two kilometres) northwest of the central business district of Kwigillingok, in the Bethel Census Area of the U.S. state of Alaska. There is also a nearby seaplane landing area known as Kwigillingok Seaplane Base (FAA LID: KWK).Runway 15/33 was increased from 1,835 feet and 40 feet wide to 3,300 feet and 60 feet wide. Runway 4/22 was added along with custom models. All changes were made based on the 2014 construction plans.
Created with Airport Design Editor 9x by ScruffyDuck Software using current FAA documentation and Google Earth measurements, this package offers a replacement for FSX's stock airport. All these enhancements are as close to the real airport as I can get with stock library objects and custom buildings.

| RAF Bradwell Bay |
|
File Description:
RAF Bradwell Bay is a former Royal Air Force station located 9.5 miles (15.3 km) east of Maldon, Essex, England and 3.1 miles (5.0 km) south west of West Mersea, Essex.
The airfield was first used as grass landing strip for the nearby firing ranges before being turned into a RAF station with concrete runways and hangars. The station is unique as it was the only fighter station where the Fog Investigation and Dispersal Operation (FIDO) was used.
Part of the site is currently being used by the Bradwell nuclear power station. Several of the hangars are still used as storage by the local farmers and the control tower is now a private house. Agricultural buildings, built in the '70s and '80s on runways one and two, are now home to several local businesses.
