File Description:
Pilatus PC-6C H2 Turbo Porter for FSX by Tim Conrad in a Royal Netherlands Air Force livery. The PC-6C Turbo Porter has been an amazing contribution to the STOL aircraft fleet around the world for decades. It's robust airframe and excellent aerodynamics make the plane very popular for para-drops, but also for supply missions in remote area's throughout the globe. Despite it's age the aircraft is still widely in use. This repaint represents a "what-if" RNLAF PC-6C in 336 Sqn colours. 336 Sqn has been a Dutch Antilles based Air Force MARPAT unit operating F-27MPA's. Currently the Sqn operates four C-130's from Eindhoven AB, with a new Sqn logo. This PC-6C is (fictional) operated by 2 ULF (Utility and Liaison Flight), 336 Sqn. The flight is designated to operate anywhere in the world. This livery resembles a unit operating from Tarin kowt (Tereen (OATN)), Uruzgan, Afghanistan 2009 under ISAF mandate, and in support of the Dutch Task force Uruzgan, Tarin Kowt, 2009. The aircraft shares the same registration as my previous livery (PC-6C_KLU.zip), but weathered, tone-down grey and 37 years later. You need the excellent freeware PC-6C H2 Turbo Porter by Tim Conrad in order to use this repaint. Enjoy!

RAF Polebrook Download

File Description:
On June 28, 1942, RAF Polebrook was officially turned over to the USAAF and the airbase became the base of the 97th Bombardment Group, the first USAAF heavy bomber organization to arrive in the UK. It was designated USAAF Station 110. The 97th BG was assigned to the 1st Combat Wing, at RAF Bassingbourn. It's operational squadrons were divided between Polebrook and RAF Grafton Underwood: 340th Bomb Squadron (RAF Polebrook) 341st Bomb Squadron (RAF Polebrook) The 97th BG conducted a total of 14 missions from Polebrook, attacking airfields, marshalling yards, industries, naval installations, and other targets in France and the Low Countries. The group sortied 247 aircraft, dropped 395 tons of bombs on Nazi-controlled territory, and lost 14 aircraft. On October 21, 1942, the 97th Bomb Group was transferred to the Twelfth Air Force in the Mediterranean theater and Polebrook was unoccupied until April 1943. 351st Bombardment Group (Heavy) On April 15, 1943, the 351st Bomb Group arrived at RAF Polebrook. It was assigned to the 94th Combat Wing, also at Polebrook. The group tail code was a "Triangle J". It's operational squadrons were: 508th Bomb Squadron (YB) 509th Bomb Squadron (RQ) 510th Bomb Squadron (TU) 511th Bomb Squadron (DS) Boeing B-17G-85-BO Flying Fortress, Serial 43-38465 of the 510th Bomb Squadron. This aircraft survived the war and returned to USA on 8 June 1945 Douglas-Long Beach B-17G-30-DL Flying Fortress Serial 43-38116 of the 509th Bomb Squadron. The 351st's first completed combat mission took place on May 14, 1943, when 18 B-17's targeted a German Luftwaffe airfield at Kortrijk, Belgium. As the war progressed, the 351st operated primarily against strategic objectives in Germany, striking such targets as ball-bearing plants at Schweinfurt, communications at Mayen, marshalling yards at Koblenz, a locomotive and tank factory at Hannover, industries at Berlin, bridges at Cologne, an armaments factory at Mannheim, and oil refineries at Hamburg. This is for FSX and you will need to have Ted Andrews's RAF Hangars Library and his other great RAF Buildings. They can be found on AVSIM. Search the FSX section for "Ted Andrews" - you'll find loads of his scenery object files for RAF airfields. Follow his instructions on how to install them.

B-2A Spirit Stealth Bomber Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
The B-2A Stealth Bomber is the most sophisticated aircraft on the planet. She is essentially a “Flying Wing” platform with no V-Tail, and is controlled by pre-programed flight computers stationed in various positions within the crew cabin and wings. There is one main computer that controls the aircraft, with two redundant back-up computers assigned to it in case of failure. All additional computers are assigned to functions involving flight control, system monitoring, data communications, and radar. Engine and Aerodynamic effects are controlled by these computers which serve several actuators and ailerons, including the spoilerons, which further compensate for the lack of a V-Tail. In theory, and because of these computers, the aircraft is “Stall-Proof”. The only way it can stall is if the computers fail. There is no way she can be flown without the computers active. The REAL aircraft does almost everything based on pre-programed data, other than taxi to the runway (although this is also possible to program). Before each flight, the Mission is designed and then assigned to the Mission Flight Box (Portable Computer) which is then carried by the Commander to the aircraft, and the data from the box is “transferred” to the main on-board computers. Because of this, the B-2 cannot be flown until the box is ready for the mission, and pilots cannot simply jump in and fly her, with the exception that the data is transferred via satellite. Everything is pre-planned, and this takes several hours. Once the data is on-board, the taxi can begin. When lined-up on the runway, all the pilot needs to do is push a button or three. Everything else is computer controlled until landing. The aircraft CAN be flown manually with basic data inputs into the main computer systems, but even in that case it is not conventional. If a pilot wants to turn right, he sets the data to turn to a certain degrees of heading. The same with climb and descent, speed increase or decrease. A pilot cannot over-ride the computers in any case, so steep banks, climbs, or descents cannot be forced. There is a lot of space for the two member crew within the cockpit, but there is also a space reserved for one observer. This additional seat is known as “Suicide Position” because there is no ejection seat for that observer. In the event of a mishap, the observer can try to bail-out through the ejection hatches after the pilots, or can try the exit ramp door, or the bomb bay as an exit route. The odds of escape for the observer are very small, but he has a parachute as reassurance. Otherwise, what the crew does during missions is only a guess, since they really don't have to do anything unless an alarm goes off. Since the plane flies so smooth, we can only imagine what sort of things they may dream-up to entertain themselves during a long flight. High altitude flights are conducted at night mainly due to the obvious contrail such a flight will exhibit during the day with such hot engines. The engines are encased in a heat absorbing shield material (still exhaust exists), and the rest of the plane is coated with Radar absorbant material, with the additional low profile effect of the aircraft design itself. If it can be seen by the ground or a fighter, it can be attacked by fighters or the ground. During daytime flight they will stay below the contrail level, and monitor the radar systems in preparations for counter-measures. If a fighter can visually observe them, the fighter may be able to shoot them down with bullets from behind, but not likely with missiles because of the sophisticated counter-measures available. On Radar the aircraft appears the size of a pigeon, until about 8 to 10 miles away, which would be too late to counter from the ground, so most attacks are either done at night or during the day at very low altitude. Upon landing the aircraft is automated down to about 200 feet AGL, when the pilot takes command. All she/he does at this point is allow her to glide down and contact the runway, and retard the engines. Brakes are used to slow, then the computers are turned off, and the pilot can control the throttles, nose gear, and brakes. The Commander watches for obstructions, mainly, and communicates with the tower and ground crew. Everything in this model has been reconfigured to meet realistic standards, without any tricks or flight tuning, and following real world aerodynamic principals and available data, including MOI. The panel requires study before use, but very realistic. The sounds are very authentic. There is no other model offered anywhere that compares to what you have now available in front of you. Please read and study the Readme.txt file within the main folder before attempting to fly this 2.2 Billion Dollar aircraft. Yes, that's correct ... $2,200,000,000 each! Quebec CYQB Download

File Description:
All pilots have used or heard the word "Quebec" during their radio communication but not many pilots actually landed at Quebec International airport (CYQB). A great number of Head of States, VIPs, tourists came to Quebec City for summits, special occasions or to visit the city declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1985. Quebec airport is also hosting a great airshow and this year in June, to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Quebec City, five of the world best aerobatic squadrons will perform simultaneously over Quebec: the British "Red Arrows", the French "La Patrouille de France", the US Navy "Blue Angels", the USAF "Thunderbirds" and the Canadian "Snowbirds". It will be quite a sight. This very accurate scenery will give you the opportunity to visit CYQB with your simulator. Months of effort were devoted to make this scenery as real as possible. This package includes more that 25 highly detailed hangars and buildings all having night textures, some of them have windows with specular effect. Light poles provide aprons lighting. The adjacent mount Belair have communication towers with strobe lights visible for over 12nm which provides a good visual reference coming into the airport. Exceltech, a maintenance facility has static aircrafts parked in front. A second publication will include the new terminal which is presently under construction.

Metal GUI V.1.2 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
I designed this for myself to darken the default User Interface for 2 reasons. I have bad eyes that are sensitive to bright objects on the screen, and I like to fly the simulator in the evening hours with the lights turned off in the room. I hope you like my end result. I also added 2 bonus features. Instead of hearing the Windows/Internet Explorer click sound when you mouse click on a menu item, you now will hear the "Fasten Seatbelts" sound effect. Be sure to back up the original sound "checkc" in case you find the new sound annoying. Secondly, I have included 4 optional Aircraft Viewer images that give the selected aircraft a more airborne look. I will make switching these simple by adding them to the Generic Mod Enabler(JSGME) that I will include in the download. The look is created using Diamond Plate and Polished Aluminum textures, and modifying the buttons with some more color. This is Freeware, and I am giving permission to anyone that wants to create their own and upload to any site they wish. I do not wish that you have to mention my name in any credits. Generic Mod Enabler(JSGME) can be found at JoneSoft http://www.users.on.net/~jscones/software/ This utility is freeware created by JoneSoft (Copyright© 1998-2010 JÃsen Jones)

USAAF PT-17 Stearman (N38940) Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This is a repaint only, for the payware Vertigo Studios Stearman Vol.1 set. This repaint depicts the restored Stearman PT-17 N38940, owned/operated by Paul Bennett, based at Priory Farm, Norfolk, England. The aircraft was manufactured as USAAF 41-8263, and from 1941 until February 1944 the aircraft was used continually, despite being involved in 4 separate training accidents, with a 5th accident taking it out of service althogether. The remains of the aircraft were restored, with the aircraft first flying again in 1977, and later, sold to Paul Bennett in 1992, the aircraft was restored again, to factory-original award-winning condition and finished in the same all-silver color scheme it would have had in 1944. The contrast between the metal and fabric surfaces on this aircraft is period-authentic, as although the fabric surfaces were coated in silver dope, the metal panels were anodized and left bare. Two versions of the repaint are included, with one featuring the temporary 445th Bomb Group tail markings the aircraft sported in 2006.

FSX/P3D Western Airlines 727-247 circa 1970 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This is a repaint of the 727-247 in Western Airlines 727-247 colors with the iconic 'Indian' motif. The freeware 727-200 by Tenkuu Developers Studio (TDS) is needed for this repaint. Until its acquisition by Delta Air Lines in 1986, Western Airlines was for many years the only survivor of a handful of airlines that pioneered commercial air transportation in the U.S. in the mid-1920s. It was then Known as Western Air Express, it was renamed Western Airlines in April 1954. It was the oldest continuously operating airline in the United States until the amalgamation with Delta in 1987. Its first jet aircraft arrived in 1960 in the form of two Boeing 707-100s. The 707-300s, 727-200s and 737-200s joined the team later in the 1960s. This repaint is of a Western 727-247, circa 1970. Western operated the 727-200 from 1969-1987. Textures are 32bit bmp. This repaint was tested on FSX-SE. It should work on FSX & P3D v1-3.

FSX/P3D Alisarda DC-9-32 1982 Download

Images related to this file:

File Description:
This is a repaint of the DC-9-32 in Alisarda colors. The freeware Eagle Rotorcraft Simulations' (George Arana) DC-9-30 native FSX conversion with VC, of Erick Cantu's DC-9-30, is needed for this repaint (Link provided). The textures are 32bit DDS. It was tested on FSX-SE, but should work on FSX & P3Dv3. In 1977 Alisarda leased two DC-9 series 32s with 105 seats from Airfinco SA in Switzerland, which maintained their Swiss registration. The first aircraft delivered was HB-IKB on 13/4/1977, followed by HB-IKC on 13/10/1977. With the extra aircraft at their disposal, Alisarda started a scheduled service between Cagliari (in Sardinia) and Milan in 1978, and flights were operated from these two airports to Geneva, Zurich, Paris, and Düsseldorf. The two DC-9s, HB-IKB and HB-IKC, were eventually bought from Airfinco SA and re-registered as I-SARW and I-SARZ respectively. In turn, they were eventually replaced by two newly delivered MD-82s with 172 seats, in 1984.
