| P-51D Mustang "Frenesi" (N357FG) |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
This is a repaint for the payware Warbirdsim P-51D "Mustang Tales" product. This repaint depicts the latest Mustang restoration to emerge from Midwest Aero Restorations, completely stock, which just had its first test flight from Danville, Illinois on January 30th. The aircraft is F-6K 44-12852 (restored as a P-51D), owned/operated by Dan Friedkin/Comanche Fighters, based in Texas. Sold surplus immediately following WWII, registered as NX66111, the aircraft was entered into the 1946 Cleveland Air Races as racer #80 "Full House", but its engine blew and was forced to crash-land. Later, the aircraft was sold to Jack Hardwick in the early 50's and crudely rebuilt, with a jump seat and rudimentary dual controls installed in the back of the cockpit, and would soon be sold onto the Dominican Air Force in 1954, becoming FAD 1900 (#2). The aircraft served with the Dominican AF until it was sold and imported back into the US by Brian O'Farrell in 1984. Made serviceable, the aircraft flew again on the US register as N21023 by 1990, and was sold to Jim Beasley Sr. and later owned/operated by Jim Beasley Jr., of Coatesville, PA (sharing hangar space with their P-51D "Bald Eagle"). During this time the aircraft was painted as "Frenesi", the personal mount of WWII 357th Fighter Group ace Gen. Tommy Hayes (the name inspired from a 1940 Artie Shaw tune). By the early 2000's, showing the effects of poor-quality work done on repairing/restoring the aircraft in the past, a complete rebuild of the airframe began. By 2009, the project was sold to Dan Friedkin, now registered as N357FG, and the restoration was continued at Midwest Aero Restorations, known for their award-winning authentic Mustang rebuilds. The aircraft has now emerged in early 2017, resplendent and flying again in the markings of "Frenesi".

| Piaggio P-149D FS-X DX9 Edition |
|
File Description:
This is a re-edition of the Piaggio P-149D with FS-X retail\SP1\2\Accel DX9 compatibility (DX10 users need to convert textures). The original model for FS-2004 is MN_P149D.zip + P149_FIX.zip available on AVSIM & www.mariopilot.6x.to. P_149_fix.zip is already included in this FS-X update.
The Piaggio P-149 is a trainer-laison aircraft. It first flew in June 19th, 1953. I'ts a development of the P-148 model, with increased seat cpacity, tricycle retractable landing gear and a more powerful engine, featuring a three-bladed constant speed propeller. It was mainly used by German Luftwaffe as a training aircraft, that oredred 75 examples in 1955. Later in 1957 another 190 were manufactured under licence by Focke-Wulf. The D version is the one employed by Luftwaffe, while later some few P-149CH variants were used by Swissair as flying schools, and a few P-149U variants, with a new tailplane section to allow more rotation clearance on takeoff were used by Ouganda's Air Force. The P-149 Has a seating capacity of 4 with some examples being certified for 5 (both cases including pilot) and it's fully aerobatic, having G-limits set at +7\-4.5. After training activities ceased with Luftwaffe, several are still flying under civilian operators. This gMAX model features completely 3-D virtual cocpkit and cabin with advanced night lighting and custom special effects, plus a sound package recorded from the real thing. Simulates all systems onboard the real aircraft, coming with panel instructions. Flight Dynamics are built using only real data based on the 1% spreadsheet plus lots of manual tweaking for fine tuning. Read Notes before flying please... Enjoy!
Notes and documentation are the htm files in the P-149D aircraft folder.

File Description:
I designed this for myself to darken the default User Interface for 2 reasons. I have bad eyes that are sensitive to bright objects on the screen, and I like to fly the simulator in the evening hours with the lights turned off in the room. I hope you like my end result.
I also added 2 bonus features. Instead of hearing the Windows/Internet Explorer click sound when you mouse click on a menu item, you now will hear the "Fasten Seatbelts" sound effect. Be sure to back up the original sound "checkc" in case you find the new sound annoying. Secondly, I have included 4 optional Aircraft Viewer images that give the selected aircraft a more airborne look. I will make switching these simple by adding them to the Generic Mod Enabler(JSGME) that I will include in the download.
The look is created using Diamond Plate and Polished Aluminum textures, and modifying the buttons with some more color.
This is Freeware, and I am giving permission to anyone that wants to create their own and upload to any site they wish. I do not wish that you have to mention my name in any credits.

| RAF Dalton |
|
File Description:
RAF Dalton was named after a local village although it was closer to RAF Topcliffe who it was intended to be the
satellite for.
RAF Dalton was home to No. 102 Squadron beginning in November 1941. No. 102 Squadron returned to Topcliffe in June
1942 and for a time Dalton hosted No. 1652 Heavy Conversion Unit (HCU) flying Halifaxes. The airfield was improved in
1942 and in early 1943 was allocated to No. 6 Group Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). Canadian squadrons stationed
here at one time or another included No. 428 Squadron, No. 424 Squadron, No. 420 Squadron, and No. 1666 Heavy
Conversion Unit (which moved to RAF Wombleton in October 1943). The station also housed no. 1691 Bomber Gunnery Flight
(BGF) RCAF and its successor, No. 1695 Bomber Defence Training Flight (BDTF) RCAF, the last RCAF unit to serve at this
station.
In November 1944, control passed from No. 6 Group to the new No. 7 (Training) Group. By August 1945 all units at
Dalton were disbanded or transferred and the Station closed in 1946.

| TweakFS Utility Collection for FSX |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
The TweakFS Utility Collection for FSX includes the following: TweakFlight for FSX (Flight File Editor), TweakFPS for FSX (Scenery Mode Editor), TweakLoad for FSX (Aircraft Loading Editor), TweakAircraft for FSX (Aircraft Config File Editor) and the TweakFS Explorer (File Manager for FSX). As a group these five unique applications each have a different scope and purpose, but come with a consistent look and feel. Between them they can handle well over 1000 settings and variables in FSX. They make fine-tuning your fsx.CFG, Aircraft.CFG and FLT (saved flight) files a breeze, providing functionality, speed and ease of use that goes well beyond what can be done by manually editing the files. All the tools are designed with one important principle in mind - a one-click "restore from backup" function. This means an adjustment can be applied with complete impunity and there is always the "bailout" option if there are any "funnies", the one justifiable concern that holds many back from making changes to their FS setup. All come as free 30-Day demos.

File Description:
This version of the AN-225 is almost too accurate, yet as easy to fly as the real "Dream" it was designed to be. Everything has been incorportated in this version in order to make this the best of the best AN-225 versions for FSX ever produced. This work required well over 50 flight test hours and thousands of dollars worth of research and skill. It's all free, and offered for educational use. Anyone who has flown the previous versions will see a huge improvement in all aspects now offered in this fully refurbished model, based entirely on modern design data and aerodynamic details offered only recently. This model includes all factual performance, weight/balance, and aerodynamic details, and realistic thrust points with high turn radius wheel design. This model is absolutely realist in ever aspect.
