Tutorial - Making FS9 Object Libraries available in SBulder Download

File Description:
My fifth Tutorial using Sbuilder. This one looks at how to make FS9 library objects available in Sbuilder so that you can add them to your scenery. It uses an EZ-Scenery library as an example but the information is relevant to any FS9 library. I also cover adding thumbnails of Fs9 libray objects so that you can preview the objects before adding them to your scenery. Support avilable from scruffyduck.plus.com

Tutorial: Placing 3d Objects using Sbuilder Download

File Description:
This is the fourth Tutorial in my series on using Sbuilder to design airport scenery. In this one I look at adding objects such as buildings, trees and vehicles to your scenery. I cover how Sbuilder displays information about, and categorizes objects. I show how to use FS default library objects, API macros and RWY12 objects to populate the airfield. Support is available from my website www.scruffyduck.plus.com

Texture Finder Version 0.1b2 Download

File Description:
This program is for scenery designers only. If you use api or asd macros then the program can help to ensure that all the necessary textures are available. Many scenery design programs such as Airport for Windows and FSSC have the facility to transfer required textures into the scenery folder. Other tools do not. Even the tools that do sometimes miss textures. Texture Finder decompiles a scenery bgl (using scdis.exe from Takuya Murakami - available separately) and then identifies the textures used. It can then idenfity and move missing files into the appropriate folder. Identify needed textures which are missing from you systems and also those which are not used. It works only for SCASM based bgls and cannot identify textures for objects from libraries. It requires the latest version of dotNET from Microsoft (version 2). Please read the included pdf file for details. Support is available from www.scruffyduck.plus.com

API Manager Download

File Description:
API macros are old technology as far as FS scenery design is concerned. The new approach in FS2004 and beyond is quite different. It seems possible that scenery files using macros will not be supported in the next version of FS. Nevertheless there are many scenery designers who still use macros. I am one and I have a large collection of macros. I wanted a way to manage and categorize these macros. I also wanted to be sure that I could credit authors correctly when I use the results of their efforts. I wanted a way to keep information about object footprint and scale and I wanted to know ahead of time if I had missing textures for an object. Hence API Manager. Please be aware that this is a first release and there are likely to be things wrong. There are also some areas of the program which could be more user friendly. Please note that API Manager only works with api macros Requires dotNET framework version 2 from Microsoft. Support is available from www.scruffyduck.plus.com

Tutorial: Modify Landclass and Add Roads with SBuilder Download

File Description:
This is a follow up to my Tutorial on using SBuilder and AFCAD2 to regress an Airfield to an earlier time (available from my website www.scruffyduck.plus.com). It builds on from that tutorial and describes adding modified landclass around the airfield and adding an access road using VTP2 lines. Whilst this tutorial was designed as part of a series on creating earlier age airfields the techniques in both should be of interest and use in the modern era if you are developinh, or wish to develop, scenery using SBuilder. Future Tutorials will look at placing 3d scenery objects and other SBuilder related topics. Support from my website. All feedback much appreciated

Library Object Manager with Scenery Maker Version 0.99 Download

File Description:
This is the final beta release of this program. Library Object Manager is a utility to manage your collection of FS9 Library Objects. It can import information from a number of sources including library files, SBuilder, RWY12 and EZ-Scenery. It can export information about objects to SBuilder, EZ-Scenery, RWY12 and other Secnery Design Programs. You can catalog objects by libary, user defined category and author. If you have a lot of objects then LOM makes using them in your scenery very much easier. Scenery Maker is part of LOM and tightly integrated with it. It uses the database of objects. Scenery Maker is a placement program and uses your Flight Sim aircraft position to place objects (Similar to RWY12). Works only with FS2004 objects and Simulator. Requires Microsoft dotNET Framework Version 2 and bglxml. Full details are in the download documentation. Support is available from http://www.scruffyduck.plus.com

Library Object Viewer ver. 0.20 Download

File Description:
Library Object Viewer is a utility to display FS9 Scenery Objects outside of the Simulator. This makes it easy to check out object libraries and the objects they contain. It reads library files and displays the objects they contain. These are displayed in full 3D, can be rotated in three axes and scaled larger or smaller. The objects can be displayed in day and night textures (assuming there are night textures) and in solid or wireframe. It also takes thumbnails of the object as it is displayed which can be used in other programs. The program is currently beta and can display most objects accurately, but fails with some. It cannot read objects shipped with the FSX demo at this time. The program uses DirectX 9c to create the objects - this is used by FS9 and FSX. Please read the installation notes carefully to ensure a successful installation. Support is available from www.scruffyduckscenery.co.uk
