Battery Life Extender

File Description:
UPDATED File (Seems many aircraft lost some circuits with the original settings), my greatest apologies to any who downloaded the original file... Files to extend battery life greatly without the use of FSUIPC. Includes a digital voltage gauge in XML format, a file to allow the sim to start with a 'cold/dead' cockpit and instructions on how to install on your aircraft. Also included is a replacement panel.cfg for the default c172 with the voltaqe gauge installed as an example of how to install it and how it looks in a panel (use of the gauge file itself assumes knowledge of panel.cfg editing, the battery life fix itself does not NEED the gauge to work and is easily installed by anyone who understands the basics of and has edited aircraft.cfg files). A few other general tips and alternate methods to have a working low voltage indicator or a 'everlasting battery' are included with full explanations of the modifications in the file README.txt

Descent Rate Calculator

File Description:
Here is something I developed for calculating the correct descent rate during non-precision approaches. Ever fly KSAN rwy 27, TNCM rwy 9, or any approach where ILS just wasn't available? Just plug in your parameters in the yellow fields and let the formula calculate away. Guaranteed to work with FSX, FS9, FS8 with any altitude, airspeed and distance from the airport. No VASI or PAPI required to hit those aiming point bars! Smooth landings, however, are up to you! This is the same type of calculator that modern aircraft derive from their FMC everyday. Reno P-51 Mustang Effects

File Description:
Effects for GMAX P-51 D "Reno" Mustang. (Original design: Roger L. Dial. Flight Dynamics © Steve Small FSD. Sounds © Mike Hambly 6/2002.) As flown in FS2004. Effects include Air- Show style colored smoke ("I") key. New start-up smoke, individual exhaust-stack flames in four phases: orange start-up, soft blue @ idle, more flame @ cruise, even more @ max power. Flame size and brightness controlled by XML gauge using throttle position. Also wingtip vortex controlled by XML gauge using "G" force. Runway tire marks w/ optional "chirp" sound. Installation is manual but easy.
