File Description: Tips and Tricks - Part 13. This issue, the first of the Fall 2005 season, attempts to dispel the notion that you can become "bored" with FS2004. Numerous recommendations for new and different things to do and audition are included as well as the usual assortment of "How-To's", links to useful sites, and much, much more. A new feature is a "From the Mailbag" segment where we try to answer a question of general interest submitted by a reader. Updated indexes by John Burford in .xls (Excel) and .pdf formats for the entire series are included. There is also a group of BONUS files which I believe you will enjoy using. As usual, I have attempted to include something of value for everyone, regardless of your experience level. Compiled in .doc and .pdf formats for your flying enjoyment by David "Opa" Marshall.

File Description:
Modifying Cockpit Nighttime Lighting in FS2004 - an Illustrated Tutorial. This tutorial will show you how to easily modify the nighttime lighting of virtually any panel. Also included is a replacement set of panel icons which can be used to light the default panel icons at night also. No programming knowledge is required. The tutorial uses the default B737-400 as an example but the concept may be applied to any panel. Please unzip (using folders option) to a temporary location and follow the tutorial instructions. Compiled in .doc and .pdf formats for your flying enjoyment by David "Opa" Marshall.

A Screenshot Collection from FS2004 (makes a good screensaver)

File Description:
Here's my view from outside the cockpit. This set is the starter set which provides 148, 800 pixel wide screenshots. Each one is a different aircraft. Thanks to all the modelers and repainters out there who have given us all this wonderful variety! Look for future releases to add to this collection.

AES configuration file for the SSTSIM Concorde

File Description:
AES configuration file for the payware SSTSIM Concorde. Docking gates or mobile air stairs will connect with the left forward door. This is the only door that I activated for this file. Tested only with the production models - not tested with pre-production or prototype models. Requires Airport Enhancement Services from Aerosoft. Please note the following: - 1) Due to a limitation with AES, catering service vehicles will not align properly with the right forward door. In AES, its position is deduced from the position of the LEFT door, which with this product, as with the real aircraft, is a few feet further toward the rear. Therefore the gate/stairs willl align properly, but the catering truck driver will miss the mark. 2) I chose not to include baggage vehicles as the forward cargo doors are in an awkward position under the fuselage, and the rear door is too high to be reached properly by the AES baggage vehicles. 3) None of the cargo doors operate on this model anyway.

File Description: Tips and Tricks Number 23 - Sept. 2006 Issue. After an all too brief Summer Vacation, Tips and Tricks is back with a wide assortment of helpful information and ideas. This issue includes an important warning for anyone who may try the FSX Demo from Microsoft. The "From the E-mail Bag Department" answers several interesting questions and you will find an extensive review of the Kai Tak (Hong Kong) airport circa 1998. Rounding out this issue are links to several fine websites, reviews of scenery, aircraft and utilities plus a surprise or two has been thrown in for good measure. Hopefully you will find something of value whether you are a newbie or long time simmer. An updated index by John Burford for the entire series is included. File Description:
This is the second installment of my ever growing collection of screenshots. These are all pictures I have taken in my world and they are labeled with the aircraft type. The first batch was "Screenshots_1.zip" It has one of each aircraft I have, (so far) and this group adds 153 more shots. They are each 800 pixels wide.
