File Description:
Kick the tires and light the fires and fly with 3 RCAF Sabre Squadrons as they cross the North Atlantic ferrying aircraft to Zweibrucken Germany from Ottawa Canada. Choose whether you fly in formation, hands-off or in an individual flight. Custom aircraft paints, sceneries, and detailed instructions are provided as well as historical background and photos for this historical 1953 event. This project, for FS2004, has been in the works for 2 years and represents a team effort from Flight Ontario. As well this project is dedicated to the memory of Al Gay, who passed away on Oct 17, 2012, and is missed greatly by our team. Ted Creagh: [email protected] / Glen Broome: glenishome@btopenworld

| Upset Recovery |
|
File Description:
Upset in FS2004! Can you recover from an upset? Your instructor tells you to close your eyes and he then places the aircraft in an unusual attitude and then tells you to open your eyes and recover. I have used the Cessna 182, placed it in an unusual attitude four times, paused each flight, and then saved it. When you load it, the flight will be paused and all you need do is press the "P" key and recover. Try not to overspeed, overstress, or splash in the water. I have also included a very short video of my "recovery" from a graveyard spiral. This package is only for mature pilots who can fly with instruments. "Spot view" pilots may find this too much of a challenge.

--Repackage of "Working Wipers" for FS2004. Original package by Guy De Smet.--
Several simmers, who were having issues attempting to install the "Working Windshield Wipers" package requested I re-do the package with clearer instructions. This re-do includes the following changes:
1. New comprehensive (hopefully easier to understand) instructions;
2. Setups for the default Cessna 172 and Boeing 737-400;
3. Conversion of the "gauge" to a .cab file;
4. Sample screenshots.
A copy of the original package is also included. Please unzip this archive to a temporary folder and follow the detailed instructions. Original gauge by Guy De Smet. Re-packaged for your flying enjoyment by David "Opa" Marshall.

| ProBrief - Rejected Take-off Drills |
|
File Description:
Ever wanted to know what to do if you have to reject a take-off BEFORE V1? Here are the professional briefings for just that eventuality. Briefings like these are carried out by every
professional crew before *every* take-off. Play them before your take-off through an MP3 player via FS2004 kneeboard or any other MP3 player out of FS.
These briefings are Boeing based (like all the PROBRIEF briefings).
There are THREE:
1. For aircraft with RTO 737-400, B757, B767, B777 and B747-400
2. For aircraft with NO RTO such as the B737-200 and 747-100 thro 200
3. Reject 2 is the second half of the brief and applies to all aircraft.
These briefings are recited by a professional from memory without a script.

| Active ILS - EHAM (Amsterdam - Schiphol Airport) |
|
File Description:
As most know initiating the ILS at certain airports for AI Traffic is not a function at this time when using AFCAD2. If you add a new ILS runway to an airport such as EHAM (Schiphol 18R/36L) only the user aircraft can use this runway when visibility falls below 3 miles. ATC will no longer use this runway for AI Traffic because FS9 sees it as a visual runway. This will cause ATC to vector all your AI Traffic back to (01L/19R old numbers) 18C/36C (new numbers) which is also a Terminal departure runway. This bgl file adds all NAVAIDS for making 18R/36L a Precision Instrument Runway. All AI Aircraft will now continue to use 18R when Airport weather conditions are less than 3 miles. Read the text file for all the enhancements added to EHAM *** 3rd Party Scenery Designers Special ILS bgl and FS2004 Default Scenery AFCAD included ***

Tips and Tricks - 24 - The FINAL issue. Issue number 24 officially brings to an end the Tips and Tricks for FS2004 series. This issue is packed with some useful tips and how-to's, valuable web-site links and much, much more. The "From the E-mail bag" segment explores several ways to recover disk space and there is a special interview with a prolific author of FS scenery. You will also find a Bonus File which will make the startup of a reviewed aircraft considerably easier. Look for a special Holiday recommendation (for kids of all ages). I have even thrown in a bit of Aviation humor. An updated index for the entire series (by John Burford) is also included. Hopefully you will find something of use, be you a "newbie" or a long time simmer. Please unzip (using folders option) to a temporary folder. | Active ILS - EFHK (Helsinki - Vantaa Aerodrome) |
|
File Description:
As most know initiating the ILS at certain airports for AI Traffic is not a function at this time when using AFCAD2. If you add a new ILS runway to an airport such as EFHK (Helsinki - Vantaa 4L/22R) only the user aircraft can use this runway when visibility falls below 3 miles. ATC will no longer use this runway for AI Traffic because FS9 sees it as a visual runway. This will cause ATC to vector all your AI Traffic back to 4R/22L which is also a Terminal departure runway. This bgl file adds all NAVAIDS for making 4L/22R a Precision Instrument Runway by adding all the radar fixes for both the ILS approach portion and the missed approach procedures, altitudes and intersections as per current published plates. All AI Aircraft will now continue to use 4L/22R when Airport weather conditions are less than 3 miles.

| Flight dynamics Douglas DC-3 V7.0 |
|
File Description:
This Corrected Aircraft.cfg VERSION.7 dated OCTOBER 13th, 2003 Features the Following....
1. The DC-3 will now not level itself out on a coordinated turn
(This was the biggest issue and is now fixed)
2. Flaps now have a little more drag when used.
(Will realistically slow down for landings and you
wont roll down the runway so much)
3. Differential braking now has a little more power.
(Will realistically allow for tighter turns during taxi)
4. The DC-3 itself now has a little more power.
(Default version is underpowered and used up too much runway,
and.. Default version cruise speed was a little low).
5. Corrected Manifold pressure from 47" to 48" full power
(Default version had it slightly wrong)
6.Fuel is now down to 200 per tank
(Default has version was a little over)
7. All control surfaces, ailerons, rudder and elevators now have delay
(There is a certain lag time when flying a DC-3 and it now shows
with these corrections which delays your input to the controls)
8. Elevator trim is now fixed
(To much play in the default elevator trim , it is now fixed with
less play and also has a delay/lag effect)
9. Rudder trim now with delay/lag
10. Aileron trim now with delay/lag
11. Fuel Flow is now fixed, the DC-3 will burn 90 GPH instead of the original 118 GPH
12. Increased power scalar very slightly for correct cruise airspeed
13. Manifold pressure will decrease 1" MAP per 1,000 feet after 2,000 feet Altitude
13.Exactly 140 kias on full tanks at 9,000' ASL
14. Added Strobe Lights to the wings
15. Adjusted steering (just a tad) for better taxiing
16.Prop (rpm) and Power (map) throttles interact correctly
Took off some delay with ailerons and rudder
Removed some drag and pitch up from the flaps
Added more brake power to the differentials
17. Added a working NAV light to the Nose
I have also added a corrected DC-3 reference sheet". In the zip there are two aircraft.cfg's.. one is modified if you are already using the add-on for special effects.
