KIRO TV 7 Seattle "Chopper 7" Bell JetRanger

File Description:
KIRO Television Channel 7 in Seattle, Washington, the CBS affiliate and sister station of KOIN Television in Portland, Oregon, operates this Bell JetRanger that has had one of the longest-running news helicopter names in the Northwest. Chopper 7 does more than gather video for KIRO7 Eyewitness News. It also serves as a traffic report helicopter for Seattle's KIRO Newsradio 710 and KIRO7 Eyewitness News This Morning. This paint scheme depicts Chopper7 as she appeared ca. 1992-1993, when KIRO rolled out a totally new station ID and logo. Not much has changed, except for a slight change to the "circle-7" logo and the typeface KIRO TV now uses for their Station ID. Prior to the revamped logo, KIRO's logo was the CBS "Eye" right next to a "7" in a serif typeface that, when together, formed an "07". The N-Number of "Chopper7" is not known at this time. KATU Channel 2 Portland, Oregon "JetRangerII"

File Description:
KATU Television in Portland, Oregon, an ABC affiliate and sister to KOMO TV in Seattle, Washington, operates this JetRanger appropriately named "JetRanger2." This helicopter, and an identical sister ship called "JetRanger1" operated under the tagline "The Power of Two" and both helicopters consistently outdid competitors KOIN and KGW in the aerial ENG helicopter coverage race. However, the duo of identical helicopters came to an end in December of 1997. While working for a Christmas Tree harvesting operation, the helicopter known as "JetRanger1" went out of control while slinging a load and crashed to the ground. Fortunately, the pilot was able to survive the wreck, although the helicopter was a total loss. JetRanger1 and JetRanger2 were leased to KATU by Hillsboro Aviation.

KING 5 TV "SkyKing5"

File Description:
KING 5 Television, the NBC affiliate in Seattle, Washington, has operated this AS350 Ecureuil for nearly two decades, and this paint scheme dates back as long as they've been using this helicopter. Appropriately named "SkyKing" on-air, this helicopter is used for aerial TV news coverage for KING 5 News. In addition, this helicopter is used for traffic reporting for the morning and noon editions of KING 5 News.Piloted by veteran KING 5 pilot Mark Hamill, this helicopter is perched atop the KING 5 Television studios just a few blocks away from Seattle's Space Needle on Dexter Avenue. Requires a full install of Peter and Tamas Nemeth's Aerospatiale AS350 B2 Ecureuil.

St. Helens Helicopter

File Description:
This repaint depicts the helicopter used in the movie "St. Helens" starring Art Carney. The movie dramatizes the events leading to the catastrophic eruption of Mount St. Helens on May 18th, 1980. This helicopter was used throughout the film in several different ways, and at the time was based out of Bend Municipal Airport in Bend, OR. Currently, this helicopter is based in New England and now bears a plain-white paint scheme. This repaint requires a full installation of Cyril Pioffet's Aerospatiale SA341G Gazelle.
