1946 - Croydon to Beirut by DH Dragon Rapide

File Description:
A letter in the September edition of "Aeroplane" was the inspiration for the creation of this Flight. Ronald Neal flew as part of the crew on a delivery flight of a De Havilland DH-89 from Marseille to Beirut and listed the refuelling stops across the top of Africa. This occurred not too long after the end of World War 2. I have started the journey at Croydon, with the first stop being St. Nazaire, the port on the east coast of France from which German U-boats ventured. The next stop is Marseille and then the stops referred to in the letter, namely Ajaccio, Tunis, Castel Benito, Marble Arch, Benina, El Adem, Matruh and Heliopolis (Cairo). Thence to Beirut. Dave Garwood created a lovely model of the DH89a for FS2004 and you can find that - and many excellent repaints - right here on Avsim.com. Look for fs9_dh89.zip.

PMDG SIDSTARS Cycle 0610 Collection

File Description:
Collection of 34 SIDSTARS procedure files, including all FAA NACO additions (see the new KTPA RNP approaches and RNAV DPs/STARs at KFLL), changes (KSEA runway renumbering included) and deletions published for the 28Sep-26Oct06 cycle. BOAC - Southampton to Johannesburg by Short Solent - 1949

File Description:
On the 4th. May 1949 BOAC introduced Short Solent flying boats to Southampton-Johannesburg service. These new 'boats replaced the Hythe-class aircraft used since the War but they were destined to only serve for about a year before flying boats were withdrawn from the South African service completely. The route, which took four-and-a-half days to complete, was Southampton - Augusta (Sicily) - Cairo - Luxor - Khartoum - Port Bell (on the northern extremity of Lake Victoria, in Uganda) - Victoria Falls and then Vaaldam (or "Vaal Dam"), a large lake approx. 40 miles south of Johannesburg. PMDG SIDSTAR Louis Armstrong New Orleans Intl (KMSY)

File Description:
This is a copy of the kmsy.txt file included in my 0610 Collections, which has been adjusted to work with Navigraph Cycle 0610 FMC AIRAC data. I had to declare the KINTE NDB in the FIXES Section to eliminate a fix unknown error message.

1926 - East Friesland Islands

File Description:
Set in 1926, this compact flight sees you flying a Junkers W-33b on your twice-weekly "milk-and-bread" run from Emden and through the islands, including Heligoland (or "Helgoland") before terminating at Borkum, the western-most island in the German Frisian islands. Your flightplan takes you in an anti-clockwise direction and you terminate at Borkum. There is no schedule...if you feel like having a chat with the locals en-route, feel free to do so, just so long as you get to Borkum to pick up the mail before the Post Office closes. :) Additional scenery files are required :- ostfr40.zip and helgol09.zip. PMDG SIDSTARS Dallas Fort Worth Intl (KDFW)

File Description:
PMDG procedures file for Dallas Fort Worth Intl (KDFW) Cycle 0610 based on FAA NACO Digital Terminal Procedures data. Includes DPs (22 for turbojet, prop only excluded), STARs (9 for turbojet) and IAPs (24 ILS/RNAV/VOR). The STARs are enumerated for direction of landing, and four are further defined for landing runway for use in lieu of vectors to final in addition to landing direction (can be used with or without ATC). The text file header includes SID and STAR charts to assist in selection of procedure.

1932 - New England Airways Ltd. - Brisbane - Lismore - Sydney

File Description:
This Flight depicts the southbound service from Brisbane to Sydney, via Lismore (and ocassionally Coffs Harbour), operated by New England Airways Ltd. in the early 1930's. The aircraft used is the Avro type 618 '10', a licensed version of the Fokker VII. The included Word.DOC file contains important information relating to the Flight, including images of the original timetable and route.
