| The 2006 Maine Military AI Aircraft and Airbases |
|
File Description:
The NorthEastern USA Military AI Aircraft and Airbase Collection Part 1: 2006 Maine Military AI Aircraft and Airbases package is the first in a series of complete Military AI packages that will cover all the currently active military aviation units in the New England states of Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island along with New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. This first package includes represenative AI fixed and rotary wing aircraft for all the military aviation units currently operating in the state of Maine, AFCADs for Bangor International Airport (KBGR) and Naval Air Station Brunswick (KNHZ) and novel and unique demonstration flightplans utilizing all of the above. Complete AI versions or conversions of such aircraft as the USN P-3C, USNR C-130T, USN SH-60B, USN HH-1N, ME ANG KC-135E, ME ARNG UH-60A, ME ARNG/CD RAID OH-58R, OSACOM C-12D and VT ANG F-16C (refueling flight conversion) are included. My thanks to John Young for the use of a modification of his excellent KBGR scenery version 3 and to Henry Tomkiewicz, Mike Stone, Jordan Moore, Owen Hewitt and Rok Dolonec for the use of their excellent aircraft models. This Military AI package created by Mike MacIntyre.

| Israeli Traffic Pack 3 |
|
File Description:
This is a third pack of my Israeli AI traffic project. The pack contains repaints only, in DTX3 format, with mip-maps. The models are both freeware and payware - the Navajo by Dee Waldron and Henry Tomkiewicz and Partenavia P68B by Klaus Brosemann may be found in avsim.com library. C-152 and C-172 models are part of an exellent "Cessna Single-Engine Props" package, you can find it on http://htaimodels.com/.
The repaints included in this package are of PA31 Navajo 4X-CIT, Partenavia P68B 4X-CCV (Frankly, it is standing in Herzelia for years, never saw it in the air, but maybe it is just me), Nesher Aviation C-152 4X-CAV - this lovely workhorse was the first plane i took PPL lessons in, now it is sitting grounded near HRZ tower, looking kind of sad, as Nesher Aviation felt into bankruptcy about a year ago, so it is waiting for a buyer. But it is hard
to imagine Herzelia Airport without it, so I made it, even if it is only for a static display. Also included is a nice C-172 4X-AIT from Ayit Aviation, based in Beer-Sheva Sde-Teyman Airport. There are no flightplans yet, hopefully my repaint project will inspire fellow AI fans to make some.

| McDonnell Douglas F-4B Phantom II (Version 2) |

File Description:
McDonnell Douglas F-4B Phantom II (Version 2). This is one of the most iconic military aircraft of all time, ushering in the modern age of air combat; from Asia to the Middle East; and some of the 5,057 manufactured airframes are still in active use today, after over five decades of excellent service. This revised model set is what I originally envisioned when I undertook the modification of Nick Black's F-4E source files. Numerous changes are listed in the extensive documentation with this file. This file contains early, middle, and late F-4B base models; as well as the QF-4B with its NOLO (No Live Operator) drone configuration. The four main aircraft variants include a total of 27 loadout options, and 68 repaints representing these aircraft in service with the US Navy and United States Marine Corps. I have also included a layered Photoshop paint kit for repainters. While I did not paint every squadron from every cruise or time period, I believe there is a nice spread of representation in this package. This project properly updates my comprehensive (AI traffic) history of this aircraft. I did not do this alone by any means, and all contributors that I can think of are listed in the documentation. This is the complete aircraft, with all main FS textures and effects included. Original FSDS source and paint kit by Nick Black; FDE by Mike MacIntyre, all model/paint kit modifications and repaints by Michael Pearson.

This model set utilized FSDS source files for Nick Black's original F-4E Phantom II 8-LOD AI model, and has been heavily modified for this project. Numerous changes are listed in the extensive documentation with this file. This file contains early, middle, and late F-4B base models, as well as the QF-4B drone variant. The four main aircraft variants include a total of six base models, 33 loadout options, and 33 paints representing these aircraft in service. I have also included a layered Photoshop paint kit for eager repainters. This project is the next part of what will hopefully be a comprehensive and fairly complete (AI traffic) history of this aircraft. I learned a lot from the first two releases, after a couple of updates and fixes; and hopefully got this one right on the first pass (we will see, lol). I did not do this alone by any means, and all contributors that I can think of are listed in the documentation. This is the complete aircraft, with all main FS textures and effects included. Of particular note, for the F-4C late model, is a large collection of 58th Tactical Fighter Training Wing repaints from my hometown Luke AFB from the 1970s. File Description:
McDonnell Douglas F-4J(UK) Phantom F.3 (AI Phantoms Phorever Part 5). This is one of the most iconic military aircraft of all time, ushering in the modern age of air combat; from Asia to the Middle East; and many of the 5,195 manufactured airframes are still in active use today, after over five decades of excellent service. This model set utilized FSDS source files for Nick Black's original F-4E Phantom II 8-LOD AI model, and has been heavily modified for this project. Numerous changes are listed in the extensive documentation with this file. This file contains one F-4J(UK) base model, but is split into two time periods, representing use of both Sparrow and Sky Flash missiles. There are two full squadron paints for 74 Squadron, including eight loadouts and 15 serials per squadron; representing these aircraft in service from 1984-1990. I am not including the usual paint kit because these aircraft were only used by one RAF squadron, and I have included all serials. This project is the next part of what will hopefully be a comprehensive and fairly complete (AI traffic) history of this aircraft. I learned a lot from previous releases, and these models are vastly improved from the original releases I have done recently (v2 models for those will be forthcoming).

| Chance-Vought F-8 Crusader (Part 1) |
|
Images related to this file:
File Description:
Chance-Vought F-8 Crusader (Part 1). I present a comprehensive AI traffic model package for this classic aircraft of modern military history.
This is an original 8-LOD model, with many animations and features thanks to a growing confidence in XML-coding and making FSDS work for me instead of the other way around.
Nicknamed "The Last Gunfighter", this aircraft was the last production aircraft for the US Navy and Marine Corps which used guns as primary armament, and was in service at the twilight of this age, as well as the dawn of the missile age. Like all combat-experience aircraft, it had a relatively short life during its operational use (only about twenty years or so as a fighter), but was used a little longer as a recce aircraft; and beyond that in export service to France and the Philippines. The Crusader was used extensively in combat operations in Vietnam, played a crucial role in the Cuban Missile Crisis, and gave the newer F-4 Phantoms a fair run for their money in terms of air combat capability during this time.
This is part one of this model series, covering the F-8A, F-8B, and F-8C base models; with a total of 16 model options and a staggering 65 individual squadron paints. I am fairly confident that if any operational squadron of the USN and USMC used this aircraft from the late 50s to the late 60s, it is covered here at some time frame. Subsequent releases will include the later USN/USMC models, as well as the French and Philippine exports. Extensive credits and instructions are in the documentation. Base model and paint by Michael Pearson, flight dynamics by Michael MacIntyre.
