Air Rhodesia, Vickers Viscount 700 circa 1979

File Description: Air Rhodesia was originally formed as a subsidiary of Central African Airways in June 1964, but became an independent corporation on September 1, 1967. This V.748D (C/N 100) was built for CAA as VP-YNC and first flew on Thursday, 24 May 1956. In 1979 it was painted in grey anti-missile livery after a SAM attack on Viscount VP-YND (C/N 101), and fitted with deflectors on the engine jet pipes to try and prevent a SAM missile from locking on using its heat sensors. In conjunction with special operational procedures when climbing and descending, they achieved the desired safety effect: no more aircraft were lost to missile attacks. This is the Cessna Grand Caravan repainted by Andrew Nott (www.repaints.tk) in the livery of 'I.C.C.G- which stands for the International Cessna Caravan Group. We fly this repainted default Cessna Grand Caravans online with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004. We fly on 'UK Hops' (IP Address: 82.2.149.155)and most of our flights are based in England. Westa Africa Cargo Viscount 814 9G-ACL

File Description:
Bought from Alidair in September 1977 where it had been G-AZNH, this aircraft was returned to the UK Airline in December the same year. It was due to be leased to Redcoat in January 1978 but it is not clear if that took place. It crashed on landing in Monrovia on the 10th June 1978 still wearing West Africa titles and registered 9G-ACL.Requires the FSDS Viscount 800 model by Rick Piper.

Ghana Airways Viscount 838 9G-AAV

File Description:
This was Ghana Airways first aircraft and only served for just over three years. Delivered in October 1961 it was sold in April 1965 to the Ministry of Technology as XT661. The other two aircraft served Ghana for another ten years before returning to the UK in 1975 as G-BCZR & G-BDKZ. Requires the FSDS Viscount 800 model by Rick Piper.
