File Description:
The swept-wing Republic F-84F Thunderstreak evolved from the straight-wing F-84 Thunderjet. The "F" model incorporated such aerodynamic improvements as swept back wings, due to the success of the North American Aviation F-86 Sabre. It also featured improved tail and elevator surfaces, a smaller canopy and a redesigned windscreen. With these improvements, the F-84F was introduced in 1949 as a competitor to the F-86.
The prototype first flew on June 3, 1950, and deliveries began in 1954, primarily to the Tactical Air Command (TAC) as a ground support fighter bomber.
Armed with six 50-caliber M-3 aircraft machine guns, 24 5-inch rockets and 6,000 pounds of bombs.

File Description:
This package corrects a number of issues that have surfaced since the initial release of this aircraft. A revised aircraft configuration file is included to fix problems with the scrape points and underwing retractable landing lights. A modified panel configuration file and Switch panel bitmap are included to add a switch for the retractable landing lights. Missing gauges for some of the switches are included as well. Also included are two additional liveries, one to update the NAvy rescue 911 repaint uploaded yesterday. This was based on photos of a bogus livery. Also added are textures for a fictitious private livery. PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE ATTEMPTING INSTALLATION!

FS2004 Republic F-84G Thunderjet. The F-84 Thunderjet was one of the most important western fighters of the 1950's. It was produced in very large numbers, had a distinguished carreer with the USAF in Korea as a fighter-bomber, and was for a number of years the main equipment of many NATO air forces. A complete aircraft model, photoreal inside and outside, fully functional 2D panel and Dynamic VC, custom gauges and custom soundsuite, countless XML programmed goodies including droppable fuel tanks, automatic wing slats operation depending on speed and attitude, dynamic engine damage and flame-out simulation, authentic start-up procedure including fuel regulation and power cart, working guns with tracer bullets and muzzle flash effects, working ( or not working.... ) hydraulics system, parked mode with wheel chocks, fluttering RBF flags, in- and outlet covers, pilot flightgear on wing, etc., and so on.
This base package includes only two skin texture sets. Additional skin textures available with a seperate package 'sf86skns.zip', also available here. SECTIONF8 is a new FS add-on development team dedicated to produce almost every version and variant of the venerable F-86 Sabre including its seagoing sisters FJ-2, FJ-3, and FJ-4 Fury.
