At 4:30 A.M. on May 10, 1940, three Junkers Ju 52's took off from the Cologne airfields of Ostheim and Butzweilerhof, towing behind them three other aircraft that lacked motors. The first front service of a new weapon, the freight glider, developed by the DFS (Deutsche Forschungsanstalt fur Segelflug / German Research Institute for Sailplane Flight), had begun. A total of 41 DFS-230 freight gliders with 400 paratroopers were launched for this mission. It was their task to take the Belgian Fort Eben Emael near Maastrich. With this successful operation the crossing of the Albert Canal was secured and the cornerstone of Belgian defense fell in German hands.
These assault gliders were also used during the Krete invasion (1941). The DFS 230's last significant use was during the 'Eichen' operation: 10 assault gliders were used to deliver the group of hand picked commandos led by Otto Skorzeny against the Gran Sasso mountain-top hotel that was used to hold Mussolini. The Royal Italian Air Force (Regia Aeronautica) received from Luftwaffe, during 1941, almost 20 DFS-230 and 4 Gotha Go-242 assault gliders. These aircrafts were used only for pilot training until 09/1943.

File Description:
This YS-11 depicts the version used by Japan Coast Guard / Maritime Safety Agency. The aircraft has some unique features, such as MAD boom in the tail and two large observation windows on both sides of the fuselage. New features: improved 3D model with feathering prop blade animation and parked aircraft mode with visible intake covers, streamers etc. Better virtual cockpit with new night lighting, smooth gauge update rate, more mouse operable levers and switches and VC window rain effects. This is a complete package containing panel, sounds and effects. No previous version needed. Manual and checklists included.

Re-upload. Built during 1934 by the Societa Idrovolanti Alta Italia "Savoia�¢����, the SM.74 had accommodation for twenty-four passengers in one large cabin. It had wooden wings and welded steel tube fuselage covered with aluminium and painted canvas. Fitted with four 780 h.p. Alfa Romeo AR.126 RC engines. Its loaded weight was 31.000 lbs and the cruising speed 190 m.p.h.. The SM.74 was the first four-engined Italian airliner. Only three planes were built (I-URBE, I-ROMA, I-ALPE), and they served from 1936 with Ala Littoria; distinguished by comfort and luxury, these planes were fast, safe and sturdy. The SM.74s were used on the Rome-Paris route until 1938 and on the Rome-Tripoli route until 1940. After June 1940 the Royal Italian Air Force (Regia Aeronautica) incorporated all the civil aircrafts. The SM.74, carrying more than 5,000 kg of material, revealed itself as the best Italian (operative) cargo. Complete aircraft. 3 Different Hi-Res GMax models (3 different versions), features the usual moving parts, such as all flight controls, props pitch and navlights. PART 2 - THE PEACETIME YEARS
The post war Aironi retained their AR126 engines all the way to retirement in 1959, but they were modified to have feathering Savoia hydraulic constant speed airscrews which required new controls in the old cockpit. High power then became available for TOGA for the first time allowing take off from smaller harbours during air ambulance sorties, and perhaps overload survivor rescue. The omnipresent problem of engine overspeed disappeared, but the early series Bristol Pegasus engines remained too primitive to have cowl flaps to control engine cooling. The gondola lost its windows and ventral hatch to reduce drag. New navigation equipment and procedures were introduced.

Euro Link Meljet B747 Package (Final). This is an exceptional package (one of many) MELJET BOEING 747. Liveries: Euro Link VA OC & NC, Air France, Alitalia, Britsh Airways, KLM, Lufthansa, South African. All aircraft are equipped with professional sounds (either RR or GE). He also integrated the up to date Server Info gauge into all aircraft for use with VATSIM. The usual push back gauge is also included along with the crew announcements. A new added feature to this package is V Speed readouts, which were not included in the last release. Please see the readme file for more information and how to install ServInfo.
